One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

As for things geting revealed at the same time, I guess it’s too much to ask for things to get hinted at even a little (assuming we get/got hints.)
I assume we will get hints. Elders said it was not going to be like Ohara so I take that as Oda saying we’ll get lore drops.

If only because it seems like this is setting up Elbaf reveals when we can finally learn what was in those books.

Honestly, it makes sense that the exact ocean depth in One Piece being 10,000 meters sounds unnatural when you take into consideration the average ocean depth for us is about 3,682 meters (according to NOAA). Challenger's Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific, is almost 11,000 meters, but that's a very specific point that has of yet to be discovered elsewhere in the world. It's been theorized, if not outright confirmed in this arc, that One Piece is post-apocalyptic, so it wouldn't be surprising at all if it turns out the rise in sea level had something to do with the events of the Void Century.

So if the world is going to sink into the ocean what would happen to the land of the Celestial Dragons? That part seems to be safe (or at the very least should be). Though one can assume that if Vegapunk is correct about this all hell would break loose and most would try to reach this particular land

Also I am wondering why the land would sink into the ocean. This isn't "climate change" with rising ocean levels stuff. There must be something else which might cause this. Something brewing from the Void century perhaps? Like an old weapon that will go off at one point and is probably described on the poneglyphs?

Oh shit it just hit me.

The world is sinking into the ocean. The Noah was meant to bring the Fish-Men to the surface in the event of an emergency (their homeland being destroyed), of which such a cataclysmic event will cause the ocean levels to rise further (the All Blue, essentially). People are going to need to get on ships to keep from being washed away.

The Noah is the literal Ark for the survivors of this world-ending event. And not everyone is going to make it onto the Noah.

This is absolutely fucked and I'm all for it.
to add to this think about the ancient weapons we know of. there is poseidon/shirahoshi who has the ability to control all the sea kings and pluton which is supposed to be an extremely powerful warship currently sealed in the wano kingdom which can only be freed when the walls of wano are brought down.

if i had to guess pluton exists as a means to destroy the noah and sink any remaining land into the ocean where as poseidon exists to control the sea kings either to protect everyone or prevent anyone from ever getting to the surface. this includes the noah.

There’s a reason they are stationed on the highest point of the world and have been building stuff like teally tall bridges

Well yes, even if the WG was good and was doing something about it people panic when told the world is ending.

Either Luffy or Blackbeard punches the Red Line to pieces or Imu’s weapon that raises the sea level goes crazy. Or both.
and pluton which is supposed to be an extremely powerful warship
Pluton is not said to be a warship. The counter weapon to Pluton is the thing said to be a ship.

Nani? I got this from the One Piece Wiki.

It’s Uranus that hasn’t been talked about in the slightest.

Pretty sure that the confirmation it was a ship is related to thinking Water 7 has the blueprints to it but those turn out to the counter measure. And that was the ship Water 7 built.

There just seems to be hints suggesting it is not actually a ship.

The purpose of the blueprints being passed down in Water 7 was to build another Pluton in case they needed to fight the original. The World Government was after them because they had no idea where the original ended up.

Point is I don’t think it’s been confirmed OG Pluton is actually a ship. And the fact we spent an entire arc thinking we were fighting over it’s blueprints only to find out we weren’t suggests to me that Oda might be cooking an interesting surprise.

Nigga it's a fucking battleship, Tom, Franky and Iceburg, all shipwrights, confirmed it. It's more likely than not to look like our modern battleships, if not a direct homage to the battleship Yamato (which got a famous homage made to in the form of a fucking spacecraft because space operas are cool, which I'm also proposing may be the case here).

i have seen theories saying the ocean rising has something to do with the devil fruits. almost like they were originally from the ocean and ended up getting stolen by someone and because they were stolen it set off some kind of trap where the ocean rises to attempt and trap the devil fruit users in order to get all the fruits back to where they belong. there is also that theory that imu is based off of an umibozu and that they are legit just a type of sea devil.

i am not really too sure about either of those personally my guess is that its something from the void century or something to do with the red line.

maybe imu or someone else has an ability that lets them take land from other places and merge it into the red line and as a result everything slowly sinks lower and lower into the ocean while mary geoise goes higher and higher up.

Considering that the Rebel army was able to raise hell in Mary Goise just a couple of chapters back it might not be the safest place anyway even if it keeps rising. Of course it will be interesting to see what Vegapunk will say about the rising ocean level. Though the theory with the devil fruits sounds interesting.
