I think Bounding into Comics got a different editor and they downsized including getting rid of JDA as a contributor. That prompted JDA to start his own pop culture news site, fandompulse.com - but I don't know how often EVS or CG comes up there.
Intermarkets owned BIC before it was purchased by an entity known as Pushisher Desk in October 2023. Intermarkets did not seek to meet Google's santized speech standards, and relied on the sensational headlines brought to life by John Trent the founder of Bounding Into Comics; Publisher Desk did, however, want to meet Google's speech standards and that prompted John Trent to abruptly exit the company. This was not planned for, and the company went through a three month tail spin attempting to reorganize a website that was 80% John Trent's content. It has seen varied degrees of success.
In the dust up following John Trent's departure, a portfolio manager that I won't name as she is no longer with Publisher Desk, came into power over BIC while the company tried to keep the jenga tower of a website running. During her time with direct management over the website, she applied a maximum prejudice upon "no no words" as defined by Google. This brought her into conflict with JDA when he produced an article regarding the Penny Parker whisper network postings and soon-to-be (maybe already) published book about Penny's (an alias) time within the whisper network. The portfolio manager did not like that the source of the article's information came from what was deemed an anonymous source, and sat on the story for nearly a month. When JDA finally got an answer about what happened with the article, it came down to Penny Parker not being the author's true name, and thus not a reliable source of information making the article potentially "misinformation". Bounding was especially guarded about this after John Trent's tenure lead to many twitter confrontations over BIC's right-of-center tilt and frequent Catholic Posting.
Seeing the censorship that John Trent exited over in front of him, JDA struck out on his own with Fandom Pulse, and has stayed ahead of BIC on most of the comic related news within the decaying mainstream industry. Meanwhile, BIC has followed the FNT Friendtuber's methods of appealing to the masses with more mainstream topic coverage, and a greater focus on Hollywood's goings on. Establishing itself as a contender in the same markets as CBR and Illuminerdi.
Today, Spencer Baculi sits as Editor In Chief of the website which is still recovering from the exit of John Trent who was the main attraction for the website, twitter account, and related youtube channel.
Mr. Trent has set up shop as
The Trent Report and
John Trent Racing; and he appears to be growing fast by leaning into the style of news coverage and commentary that made Bounding Into Comics the top resource for Right-of-Center fandom Youtube channels.
Edit:
My apologies, Mr. Trent is also at
That Park Place serving as Editor-in-Chief on their platform.
