I’m not sure; still haven’t read enough about her but can I safely assume she’s no longer mobile, other than performative standing for the camera?
Yeah, that's pretty much it. She broke her ankle, couldn't get surgery to repair it right away due to fat, and spent months lying around fatly in a hospital bed, DeathByJen style, eating as she pleased, and making no effort to lose weight so she could improve her chances of a good surgical outcome. When she finally did get the surgery, she ended up with one of the screws causing pain whenever she tried to walk, so her mobility is limited to standing for short periods and taking a few steps.
Her now-ex had to widen some doorways in his house, build a wheelchair ramp, and turn his living room into Evie's bedroom before she was able to come home, because his house had been inaccessible to a bariatric wheelchair. This was a genuine financial hardship, and he could just as easily have allowed Evie to go into a rehab hospital or nursing home (again, like DeathByJen), but he seems to have actually loved her, or at least felt responsibility for her, so he did it.
Other than medical appointments, Evie's been completely housebound for the last year or two, and, on top of that, she's only been able to access the living room and kitchen. Her ex has had to provide her with assistance in bathing, toileting, and probably dressing as well, and he also has made sure she takes her meds, because Evie "forgets."
None of this, at any point, has been the wake-up call that got Evie to change her ways, lose some weight, and take responsibility for herself. And now she's crying fatly because she didn't expect to be "broke up with" by a man who has been worn down financially and emotionally by the burden of caring for her.
And now she's going to move into her own apartment, thinking she can live independently, when the truth is she can't. So we should get some really interesting content out of her when the move to Oklahoma fails to solve her problems, and creates a host of new ones.
