Extremely late since I don’t check up on this thread often, but someone mentioned Malice like 15 pages ago and I smiled because he’s my favorite chaos god, legally canonical or not.

Yeah, Malal is the best. I hate painting quartered minis otherwise I'd do a Sons of Malice kill team.

This is just a guess, but bear with me; I think the reason why they want female Marines and Custodes is because the Sisters of Battle are too close to the Imperium's backwards, retrograde religion that the SJWs obviously despise for it being Space Catholicism, and the Sisters of Silence specialize in hunting psykers which limits their story potential. They want female power-armored heroes who aren't restricted to just hunting down enemy psychics or aren't protecting some religion that the SJWs would obviously hate. Especially when the Space Marines like the Ultramarines are sometimes depicted as more ''reasonable'' in their reverence for the Emperor, not seeing him as a god.

If you're the kind of person who wants to satirize religion, you'd want a heroine who isn't tied down to the Imperial cult, and who isn't just restricted to hunting down enemy psykers. And of course, they'd ignore female Inquisitors, IG, or Rogue Traders, since they're not augmented humans and are therefore, not as important.

I'm honestly surprised GW hasn't added an "Agnostic" sisterhood to the SoB to placate those types. Just an offhand mention that the "Order of the Sacred Lily" are canonically lesbians who think the Emperor is the best human ever but refuse to state definitively that he's divine. Maybe make them Islam based instead of Catholic based in the fluff. Give them a random brown woman paint job in the official reveal and ta-da, it'll change nothing cause tourists want to change the hobby out of spite and activism, not to make it better or enjoy it.

You’re over thinking it. They want female space marines because they just want to destroy something everyone else enjoys.

They will get their enjoyment from their power trip when it happens, then they will move on to destroy something else.

Some are just spiteful assholes who want to punish the "chuds" and can't attack them or put them in gulags, so instead they're just going after the things they like. Others are activists who are genuinely offended their beliefs aren't respected by the game (i.e., "what do you MEAN women can't do the exact same things as men, that's problematic!"). Others are honest to god marixists (cultural marxists, specifically) who want to either change something to be a tool of the revolution or destroy it so no one can escape their politics, Mao style.

But yeah, they don't actually care. The second they "fix" things they'll fuck off, just like they did to Battletech. The problem is they'll perform entryism before they go, getting true believers in positions at GW to make sure no one can undo the damage for the next few decades.

This recent stuff from GW inspired me to go to my local game store and see if they run games of other systems, and I'm going to be trying D&D for the first time next week. It might seem like a stupid reason for stoppping warhammer but after more than 20 years in the hobby it's probably time to try something new anyway.

So you want to move to the game on its super mainstream version with stripped down rules, battle wheelchairs, damn near every table has a tiefling experiencing "the struggle", calling elves/dwarves/orcs/etc. "races" was too problematic, an entire campaign got reprinted because it referred to gypsies as gypsies, even the trannies are so bored with it they're looking forward to a new edition later this year.

Some of the channels that have accepted female Custodes like Discourse Miniatures or Majorkill have more of an idea how 40K works than most of these grifters or Arch. At least they actually know the fucking hobby, instead of just reading fucking wiki pages or grifting for the sake of cheap clicks.

Discourse is a tranny that moved back in with his parents and doesn't play 40k despite continually throwing money at GW while bitching about them nonstop. I don't believe majorkill plays 40k either. Majorkill at least doesn't pretend to play 40k and only talks about lore even if he is a cringe weirdo who posts coomer bait to patreon to get an income.

That, and they want to put 40K back on track of being a satire against right-wingers. Can't have that if your STRONG INDEPENDENT FEMALE is a devout servant of the Emperor, defending his Church or hunting down rogue Psykers in his name. No, it'll be a female Space Marine whose reverence for the Emperor is more subdued and ''rational'' than what the Sisters of Battle or Black Templars preach.

Nah, they're not even in it for that. They just see something they don't like, that other people enjoy, and want to tear it down. If some company produced an equivalent tomorrow that met all of their demands, they wouldn't give a flying fuck about it purely because it isn't the popular thing that people are enjoying. It's the same thing with the video game harpies screeching over shit they see as "problematic" in video games, and still don't play video games. Hell, it's move it to sports even. The WNBA, all of the whining and moaning about the player salaries over the past few weeks and not ONE of them on twitter can post their merch, ticket stubs, etc. supporting the damned thing when everyone else can see the seats in the arenas being dead ass empty for 20+ fucking years.

I am convinced at this point that Citadel paint pots (especially the taller shade pots) are designed to topple over and get all crusty under the cap so you will spill/waste the paint and have to buy more of it. But the little pots are so cute...ahh, stop it, that's how they get you...

Plus the paint is gummy goop. I still keep buying them like a retard...I think it must be because the colors are so much easier to see when they sit there in the rack, while bottle paints have an opaque lid and label usually. When I'm looking for a specific color, my eye's always instantly drawn to the Citadel rack.

That's what a more sensible right-winger would've done. Instead of protesting female Space Marines or Custodes, which would just make the right seem like assholes, it would be more ''tactical'' to flood the internet with zettabytes of Space Dommy Mommy smut. Have pics and 3D animations of female Custodes and Space Marines flood the web. Make it a fetish. Have some pics depict them getting tied down and being ravaged by otherworldly Chaos Daemons or Xenos horrors. Or depict them stepping on someone's balls or something. Have a Chaos cultist get hugged to death by a female Astartes or Custodes, saying that he dies with no regrets, and with Slaanesh blessing his soul in the afterlife for embracing that lust.

Make it so prolific that it has its own genre, and if it gets popular enough, the Left will have to abandon the female Custodes/Astartes idea for fear of the coomers showing up and jizzing all over it if they push on with the idea. Remember how much they hate sexy women in video games, and just apply the idea here.

Alternatively, you can also have the new female Custodes and Astartes be portrayed as ideal conservative mothers. Imagine Phyllis Schalfly, but on steroids. Say that instead of having organs shoved into them, they were instead genetically altered down to the bone via some lost science babble that Cawl dug up from some STC. Said alterations make it so that the kids of these augmented women would also have their augmentations from birth. Have fanart of them be portrayed as good, solid, conservative mother-figures, the secular equivalent of the Sororitas being the nuns. They serve for a tour of duty for the Imperial cause, which lasts about a century or two. Then when that tour ends, their tenure of motherhood begins.

Have wholesome art of these augmented women being wives to male Astartes and Custodes, praying to the Emperor daily, raising their augmented super-kids to be the defenders of humanity for the next generation, and they get rewarded based on how many babies they bear, so these augmented women use their enhanced bodies to give birth to as many augmented children as possible. When one of them gives birth to 12 children, they get a medal pinned on them by Primarch Guilliman himself. Hey, the Italian fascists did it, so a faction that's supposed to satirize fascism should do it too.

If there's one thing that'll offend the SJWs more than smut, it's ideal, traditional gender norms. The Left seethes with anger at portrayals of happy mothers staying at home raising kids, being loving wives to their husbands, since it's all patriarchy. But hey, these women are having the genetics of augmented men being pumped into them, so that's already patriarchy. I suppose you can call this..........DOUBLE PATRIARCHY!

At least Discourse does throw money at GW and buys the minis while knowing the lore. Majorkill, I'm not so sure, but I did see a video where Discourse threw money at Space Marine models or some crap like that, while knowing the lore far better than someone like Arch would. I'd say it's more than that. The kind of people who created 40K as a ''satire'' of right-wing militarists and religious groups are the same kind that now support and wave SJW banners. They've been frothing-at-the-mouth like madmen for DECADES thanks to the fact that 40K has been turned on its head into a right-wing darling as opposed to being a left-wing satire. I've seen more than one leftist 40K Youtuber get pissy at Space Marine fans because they ''miss the point'' like with comic fans and Rorschach in Watchmen. They want to ''retake'' 40K from the ''chuds'' basically. Yes, they want to ruin it for most of the current fans who happen to swing right and who love Space Marines, but that's a secondary reason as opposed to the original reason, that being the fact that they see 40K as lost territory rather than something new to conquer, like video games or anime. Something that once belonged to them, but it got distorted and taken by the ''chuds''.

Man, I am really proud of how this guy is turning out. I thought it would be a nightmare to paint this thing since I had one of these models last time I tried painting, years ago...he never left the box, I gave all my stuff away before I got around to painting him.

This was an absolute joy to work on so far and I had so much fun. I put the cape on and did my first covering of 50/50 matte varnish+water on the painted bits.

The only things left to do are edge highlighting his metals with Stormhost Silver (which takes all of 5 minutes), and then comes the hard part...and decisions to make about how I am going to address those glows on his armor and sword. I am almost hesitant do dive into them, because I am worried I may ruin it. But you never get anywhere by never taking any chances, so I will be trying to finish him up tonight...with gradient fades, light sources and all...

oh yeah and I gotta paint that black helmet on the skull rack. lol idk why I left that primed for so long.

I have accepted that eyes are something I just don't paint. Skin tone plus shader is my max effort there. All the staple exhibits just reafirm my conviction.

I'm not entirely sure what color the one on the skull rack is supposed to be, I think on the box it is a red helmet. For the one on the ground, I didn't have a very dark blue in my paint collection and NO citadel blues at all, so I tried my best to darken down a really bright old bottle of vallejo blue into as close to the appropriate color as I could. It ended up becoming just a little lighter than I would have liked, almost grayish, but I still don't mind. I like the way he turned out. I still have some edge highlighting to do and I have a really bad habit of showing my work off before it is done, but I can't help it sometimes.

Yes he looks so much better, and Thank you for the kind words. I consider myself a bone-stock Beginner when it comes to painting, and I just picked it back up within the last few weeks after quitting many years ago. I only painted a few things back then too and the few models I have shown here are barely an upgrade in skill level from the first mini I ever painted (a Helbrute), but they are definitely improving as I practice. I studied enough to know in theory what to do, but I definitely need a ton more practice to be able to execute all of the techniques. All of what I am doing now is very basic stuff.
