At least that's more interesting than Game Theory's fucking "it was a dream in a coma" theory about skinamarink. I don't really like Skinamarink, because while it's absolutely disturbing and upsetting, there's basically no reason for it. It is to psychological terror what UrbanSpook was to gore, it's just shocking without a story. The only difference is psychological horror is an understated, "mature" fear whereas "and then she was raped and killed and it was bloody and there was blood" is immature, so Skinamarink is held up as this masterpiece and Urbanspook is shit on.

Their art and writing is basically vizepop, but more coherent visually.

Skinamarink was an interesting experiment, but it really didn't warrant a full movie. Personally, what I hated most about Skinamarink is that everyone kept calling it analog horror, when the only thing analog about it was the film grain.


At the end of the day, you really only need two ingredients to make a successful analog horror/ARG series:
A story that is obscured, so youtubers can make theory videos.
A spooky face, so said youtubers can use it as their thumbnails.

It is why shit like the boiled one blew up despite being so mediocre. UrbanSpooks just took the subtitle out of it, so there was nothing youtubers can say about the work to get attention, other than join in on the hate ban wagon. If US told a story about kids getting raped to death by a horse, but buried it under lore so deep it takes brilliant minds like Mat Pat, NightMind, or Wendigoon to crack the case, then he would be one of the titans of analog horror.

I'm convinced that "carl92" was watching the same Xhamster link and cut it just to remove any trace of porn. He could have just Googled the title and figured out that it was original music.

I hope someone reaches out to this Christopher Booth guy and does an interview, he's still going in mainstream movies. It would need to be someone like Whang who won't act all traumatized by the 80's porn.

Anyone know of any spooky/true crime channels that focus on Japanese things? Like Tara A. Devlin, Kyoto Robato, Sakura Stardust, etc? Love me some spooks and true crime, but I also love me some Japanese study material.

I just watched it a moment ago; pretty impressive, considering his main channel's previous shit has been boring and heavily censored. For example, I had to ragequit out of his video on the dark secrets of the record industry because the fucker kept censoring the words "drugs", "shot", and "cocaine". Meanwhile for a video about dead bodies, there's surprisingly not a lot censorship in this new upload. Usually folx of his gentry keep using that dreaded "un-alive" newspeak term.
