Mark Edward Kern / Grummz / Debbichan / foxyfighter - Former WoW Team Lead and "anti-DEI" grifter, would rather commission lesbian wrestling porn than finish a game
Honestly a bit torn. Censorship is fucking gay, but my word am I beyond fucking tired of absolutely everything being hypersexualized. A society being this obsessed with sex and sexuality isn't fucking healthy.
I'm sorry, what hypersexualization?
Snoy exclusives, the very few that they have, are nothing but androgynous blobs, and now you're pissed that they've made a mistake and released something that people actually wanted?
Goddamn pimp I knew that most of y'all were retarded but not to the point where you're UPSET that there's no budgets cuts for once!

Nigger those amorphous blobs are a symptom of the same problem I'm describing. It should be a non-issue, yet those examples you provide are two prime example of "muh sexuality" being forced in your face where it has no fucking business to begin with (wether that be the Devs being faggots about it or it being brought up in game). Just because they're butt-ass ugly doesn't change that they're the same part of this incessant needless hyperfocus on sexuality in fucking EVERYTHING. Stop jerking off, it's obviously making you retarded.
As was pointed out earlier in the thread, if Mark and the coomers went about this by pointing out the double standard present in games like Cyberpunk, I'd agree with them wholeheartedly, but no, instead it's "BUT MUH COOM DOLL MC!!!". It makes it very hard to agree with this rally against censorship when the people screaming about it the loudest (and dumbest) are hardly any better than the coom brained trannies employing the censorship.
If these guys didn't all have the physiognomy you'd expect of someone getting angry over the devs adding what amounts to less than a socks worth of fabric covering a character that is little more than pornographic marketing, I'd be convinced that this is a joke.
lol
People got mad at me for pointing this out in the Stellar's game thread. But, the "culture" war is just two groups of dweebs, whom were constantly bullied for being spergs, fighting for the stupidest bullshit. In the case of Mark and the wojak coomers, it's just anime and porn instead of poc diversity and ugly people. They're still at it because they just can't adapt to society and be normal people for once.
This post is funnier the more I think about it though.

modern Vidya really isnt too hypersexualized in some ways, but TLOU2 had that pointless sex scene. I think Aloy had wierdly visible nipples in an alt costume. Previously vidya focused websites like Twitch have gotten a bunch of e-whores doing bath tub streams, Pornhub and OnlyFans became memetic, lots of other small things that add up and make people think its hypocritical for a company to suddenly be against coom coming from angles that they dislike for whatever reason

There's also the whole Witcher and Baldur's gate angle on sex scenes, Persona's beach and hot spring scenes, every shitty jrpg with romance options almost always leading to peeping tom scenes, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth made the woman bisexual-ish, I could go on.
I think the issue is compounded by the recent obsession with pornography and "ironic" degenerate humor.
It's why I gave them funny nicknames as file save names lol.
In anycase, I can't help but suspect that these folks want something to be mad about, since game journalists mostly left positive reviews of Stellar Blade.
And out of all games where you want to fight against censorship, why take THE gooner game, Stellar Blade as your preferred hill to die on, it puts supporters at a disadvantage
Interesting, for months they attack it as evil catering to cis straight white males.
Then it's censored.
Then they leave positive reviews.
It's almost as if they have an agenda (that has little to do with censorship, and everything to do with "heterophobia").
I honestly think this claim is objectively true.
The anti-sex left labeled the title a cultural stalingrad long before Mark Kern got to it.
Influencers and journos of a specific political persuasion were bitching about it for months, and are now attacking anyone bitching about the censorship.
There is a specific persuasion of "hall monitors" who believe everything from social media to the Kiwi Farms to a schlocky video game need to be policed for "disinformation", "wrong-think", or just "the wrong type of person having fun", and this title being a popular preorder has attracted them.
I think Mark's right to be a gadfly on these age-old moral busybodies.
That said, nobody "hinged" is going to go through the trouble of making a video over a customer satisfaction issue that can be summarized in a single written sentence. By all means make fun of them.
Saw this on Community Happenings and I'm so glad I did. These supporter videos are fucking hilarious; these people actually fit the stereotype so perfectly.
Stellar Blade looks like shit and I hope they patch it to put the main character in a burka you can't remove.
Idk why Goobergobber 2.0 would choose this to be at the forefront of their movement when it looks so stiff and shitty, like maybe 1 tier above Lolipop Chainsaw.

The longer this goes on, the more it looks like it's all just two groups of gooners arguing with each other until the gayest group wins. Just like the first Gamergate.
On one hand, I think it's bullshit that the game was advertised that it will be uncensored in all regions before the rug got pulled on the day of release. Then again, this is what happens when something is released as an exclusive on Sony because they hold the cards on what's allowed on their system. Maybe if it gets released on PC it will be uncensored (and then some, provided by modders). Hope gamers and devs learned something from this, but I doubt it.
The unannounced MEK Entertainment MMO was Voxelnauts, which received a lot of support from GamerGate1. The project collapsed because the founder of the company had a meltdown and accused Mark Kern of stealing from the project. There was a lot of debate at the time as to whether or not this was true, but in hindsight, it was probably true. Here's a dead link for the meltdown & accusations, unfortunately I can't find it backed up anywhere, maybe someone else can find a copy.
I think mentioning how far back Kern's grifting goes is important as well, as he was very active in opposing SOPA/PIPA, which he used to help launch his new game studio (Red 5,) and his new (now defunct) social platform League For Gamers. Unfortunately, just like the Voxelnauts drama, there's not a lot of archived information about League For Gamers. I was briefly on the website, and I can confirm that Kern did in fact have a gooncave subforum dedicated to anime navels. He has such an obsession with midriff that something like half the triangles in Firefall's female assault class were dedicated to its midriff.
There's a lot more I could say about Kern, as I've been personally dealing with him for over a decade now- but I'll probably just add to this thread as I find more concrete sources.
This guy is a real Lolcow, he's been whining about Kern for years. He was very active in the Ember discord and took it upon himself to be an unofficial discord greeter. He spent thousands of dollars not just on himself, but on hosting founder pack giveaways for the community. And no, he isn't rich- he claims he wrecked his body doing overtime to fund the giveaways, and nearly bankrupted himself.
Unfortunately, the good times would not last, as Kern made the horrible mistake of not giving Giga Bear a special discord role for all his charity. There was some big drama where Gigabear demanded a refund, Kern refused to give him a refund, and I think Kern contacted the FBI about Gigabear at some point, but maybe that was someone else. Kern likes to contact the FBI anytime someone is slightly hostile to him on the internet.
So Gigabear was banned from the project, and then spent the next 2 years of his life crying about Kern every day and warning people to stay away from Ember. Unfortunately, the only people who would see his cry posts were Ember fanboys, and apathetic Firefall players, so he didn't accomplish much. (but it was funny to watch)
Recently, Gigabear and Kern made amends, but Gigabear still isn't getting his refund.
For anyone in the future reading my posts, I don't hate Kern and I don't think Kern is a bad guy. I just think his antics are funny.
@Tragedy Welcome to the Farms, and thanks for sharing all this. I'd found earlier that anything related to Voxelnauts seemed scrubbed from the Internet, but I'll try to see if I can dig up anything else.
Was not aware of League for Gamers until now. When did Mark found it, and did it get any traction among GG1 people?
Also, if you're fine with telling us, what sort of involvement did you have with Mark / his projects?
The "organization" was founded in 2012, the social platform wasn't launched until several years later in 2015. The service didn't see much traction, the userbase was a mix of GG1'ers and disaffected Firefall players. My recollection is that most of the activity on the website was in the gooncave subforum.
I was a prolific shitposter on the Firefall forums and Firefall IRC, and would frequently use Kern as a tool to further whatever agenda I had that day. I was heavily involved in the formation of Ember as well, though I haven't participated in that community in years- but I still loosely follow it. I still interact with many former Red5 developers, though most of the Ember team no longer speaks to me.
I know most of the big names in these two communities, and since Kern's life has more or less revolved around Firefall and Ember for the past 15 years, that covers most of Kern's drama. It's difficult to share everything I know, because I'm so tangled up in this mess- and a lot of what I know is private information.
