The only thing I really besides them having copper shackles on their arms and legs in ancient tombs and thus keeping them in some sort of slumber is that they are allergic to copper and given their size shooting them with just a coat of copper wouldn't be enough to stop one when it's coming to get you [also it needs to be pure copper, have no alloy in it and looking at wikipedia hollow-point bullets typically have some sort of copper-alloy].

I actually spent a lot of time looking [all the time I've had the thread up] for why it does any sort of damage and all I see is people just recommending to make solid copper bullets.
