It's not compassionate to give opiates to someone who needs discomfort so they get off their ass and make their lives better. They're so distracted by 2 inches of skin they don't realize the only way their miserable lives will get better is if they improve the situation on their own. ive lived at both sides of the extreme in terms of racial diversity and i have been targeted off the basis of the color of my skin, but consistently those of the same darker complexions as my 'attackers' have came to my aid. that was because they were my friends, and did not see me as an 'other' or an 'enemy' somehow deserving of victimization. the ones who targeted me did.
