It was like that on the Tumblr roleplaying community, too. I never got super-deep into it, it was just something I did for fun/writing practice when I had the time, but I had an OC and I had a really hard time getting anyone to interact with me at all. Nobody on Tumblr gives a shit about OCs except other people that make OCs, but everyone pays attention to *insert well-established popular character here* with *special snowflake trait that makes them OOC*.

There isn't a single person on this forum who cares.

On a separate note, another thing that bugs me is how Rory always draws Cap with little to no expressions outside of the 'bimbo glossy eyed stare', but every other character actually has personality/unique expressions. And neither does she draw Cap outside of porn or just being in skimpy clothes, unlike slob Tony or any of the other cast members who sometimes talk with each other or do stuff. If that's not the sign of a fetish character than I don't know what is.

The only thing tying Rory's fetish art of "Steve" to Captain America is the fact that she tags it that way. I guess the face looks kinda like Chris Evans around the chin, but I'm faceblind, so someone else is gonna have to make that call.

It seems to vary. Her version of Tony, despite being racebent and a jowly obese monstrosity, is clearly pretty heavily informed by RDJ. Steve would be recognizable with a different body and different expressions. Natasha (and like Pepper and Bucky) are just ??????

I think her black widow is a trans-woman, so the titless man-faced is just another insulting move on her part.

Like, this art is so generic that I'm having trouble looking at it. It's just boring, so fucking boring. Her only defining style is that she fetishizes trans people. If it weren't for that she'd probably be buried in a sea of more boring ass steven universe-esche art.

I actually like her life studies, even with the wonky proportions. She has a good sense of form, she has very expressive linework and she does well with dynamic poses. She's really quite talented, but the main reason we're inclined to be extra harsh with our critique is due to her arrogance. That same arrogance is a large part of the reason she has a thread that's gone on for as many pages as this has.

Learning some humility would not only help her improve her craft, but it would also make us sympathetic to her and cause the thread to die off. But that won't happen.

That's my main problem with Rory, not her creepy fetish per se.
She has abilities to be a good cartoonist, is good with poses and dynamic lines, her portraits and oil paintings shows she is good with colours too.
But she is wasting her talent and choose to draw blobs that scream "tumblr art" and 90% of her doodles is porn or fetish connected. She is in prestigous college and many people would like be on her place. Many people would like to have her ease in drawing. And she choose to draw thosand picture of her beloved tranny Cap.
And her attitude makes it only worse.

Is anyone else getting PK vibes from this? Like, taking offense to people not liking a fucking fictional character and then making a series of twitter posts outlining some sort of moral fault with not liking said character? Except, at least PK actually made the characters herself.

If that were an issue of "everyone hates my favorite character" I'd understand, but as far as I know Tony Stark isn't hated. Ignored maybe, I don't know, but her taking "eh he's not my fave" for an expression of hate is a bit much.

And people have decent reasons to dislike Tony Stark. He's a snarky womanizer with a drinking problem. Not everyone is going to like that sort of character, just as some will dislike Thor for his selfish tendencies or Captain America for his stubbornness.
