Disney Adults / Disneymania

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I'm not sure if this is the right thread because he's actually a retired employee, and amassed a massive collection of Disney memorabilia - I guess to me he still seems overly committed to disney. His channel is actually pretty good compared to most disney adult channels, in that he genuinely has the items, the interviews, but he gets at most under 2k views per video, usually around 500-600, and has under 1k subscribers. He's been at it three years. Yet the channels that show someone eating yet another Cheshire cat's tail can get several times that - if nothing else it's a benchmark that the thoughtless consumption is what these people actually want.

After leaving Disney, Scott remained involved in many capacities over the years, including writing more than 700 “This Day in Disney” articles for the Disney Archives D23 website.

Scott’s library of personal interviews he’s conducted came about after he had opportunities to meet and have conversations with many Disney luminaries, and realized the stories were too good for his ears only. He started recording them to be preserved for all Disney fans to enjoy.

Scott was first dubbed “Disney Archaeologist” in the book “The First Lady of Imagineering: Harriet Burns”), for his ability to “dig up” all kinds of new facts.

He reminds me of one of the old time Disney fans before webcams and overexposure to social media became an actual thing. I’m guessing he’s not the overbearing Disney adult type that shoves his obsession of the theme park in your face 24/7.

Yeah believe it or not there's a few good chill guys out there like him... You'll have to scour through the absolute clinker coal piles of absolute ass of modern """""""fans""""""" but they exist! Here's my personal favorite.

This guy's a freelanced artist who is a massive Disney shill.. HOWEVER, unlike most who just simply cry over shitty star wars films or act like autists at poor gals working there dressed as Belle or Cinderella, he does something I'd never expected to see in my hobby.

He turned the fucking train rides from the Disney Parks into actual functioning Model Railroad Layouts with Lore and OPERATING SESSIONS. How deep is the lore? This is just a sample.

If Walt and Ward Kimball were alive, they'd go full train autist mode and join the fuck in. It's that good.

Anyways, that's my personal take and honestly wouldn't hurt to see your opinions on this. Here's his Youtube channel where he uploads: https://www.youtube.com/@ThunderMesaStudio/videos

Most people's largest gripe with hardcore Disney fans, and really unrelenting brand consumerists in general, is that any human aspect of theirs, any passion or creativity of anything they could be doing with their life with that sort of love is overtaken entirely by a moneymaking scheme of someone else's creation that requires no input or work on the consumer's part

Actively creating around the things you love, improving yourself in the process, and adding something to this world instead of just taking overcomes that character flaw
And I can respect it, even if it's dedicated to something as unbelievably gay as Disney

People who take one thing and make it their entire identity get tedious to be around. The first thing that comes to my mind is people who make smoking weed their entire personality. Think of any article of clothing, accessory, decoration, stationary... anything and you can find it plastered with marijuana leaves. Weed rugs? Check. Weed dresses? Check. Weed ties? Check. Weed coloring books? Check.

It's good to have interests. Finding something you're really passionate about is a great thing. When your entire personality and identity is that one thing, you just don't have much to talk to the majority of people about. That one thing, be it Disney or pot or Harry Potter or whatever else, is the only thing you can talk to people about and it gets exhausting talking to you.

weed has a very good and cozy reputation nowadays as a healthy and harmless drug, which is why people believe you cant get addicted to it
fact of the matter is, nearly every weed smoker is addicted, and they consume it at least every day or so
weed is not just mind altering, it's also a huge downer and makes you want to do nothing at all, as a result weed consumers end up having no room for hobbies because they spend most of their days fried out of their mind

although id argue talking to people about your hobby isnt the main reason to have a hobby, in fact the desire to pick up a hobby JUST to talk about it is what drives many people into this cycle of consuming
its better to love what you do even if its weird and autistic, than to collect just to show it off

Absolutely anything can be addictive. One addiction/chemical dependency that's considered culturally acceptable is caffeine. The "don't talk to me until I've had my morning coffee" people are addicts.

I was more talking about people who make their hobby their entire identity. Doesn't matter how or why they picked up the hobby. All that matters is that it has completely consumed every aspect of their personality. Anyone who lets one single thing shape their identity is just exhausting.

great example of using your Disney tisms for good instead of evil is the Martin Tribute video series

I hope whoever shills their money for this forgets they're up in the air and falls off.

Jesus Christ the listing is painful to read. They're roleplaying as the old man from the movie. They even shill Inside Out 2 at the end.

I don’t always like visitors, but I guess it’s pretty nice to have them now that it’s just me and Dug. So, come stay in my cozy home I made with my dear Ellie. My greatest adventures have happened here, and I learned that the best ones are always with someone you love, so bring your pals to kickstart your very own Adventure Book and watch as my house drifts off before you depart.

What you’ll do
Take a look around. But don’t touch anything, I just straightened up! Pretty nice, eh? This place used to be a dump but we fixed it up, my wonderful Ellie and me. Decorated it with stuff from all the trips we planned to take. I'm a bit old for adventure nowadays, but I know it's still out there, especially if you stay here—but just for one night, don't get too comfy. Say, if you are lucky enough to stay here, you could start your own collection of badges, travel mementos, trinkets . . . you know, stuff to remind you of your own adventures. I suppose I could help you with that. Ellie was the best adventurer, so you’ve got big shoes to fill.

You’ll arrive as Junior Wilderness Explorers and endure mini adventures to earn these badges.

• Caretaker: Do chores like fetching the mail and minding my house. Someone’s gotta do it, might as well be you.

• Daydreamer: Do a group activity to create your very own Adventure Book. Hope you like groups, as much as I don’t like them.

• Homebody: Pack lunches for a picnic experience on the lawn. Heard it’s charming, but I wouldn’t know.

• Adventurer: Head out for wilderness excursions while the sun’s up.

• Stargazer: Gather on the lawn to explore the night sky. This was one of Ellie’s favourite things to do.

• Sleepyhead: Reflect on your adventures and catch some shut-eye before your morning excursion.

• Early-riser: Enjoy the greatest breakfast in the world: bran flakes. Then go on an exciting outing, and come back to a special surprise before you depart.

Other things to note
**Airbnb brought Carl and Ellie’s house to life to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Up. For another adventure, catch Inside Out 2 on June 14 in theatres everywhere.**

I had to look into the "Up" house. It is a promotion with Dinsey and Airbnb. Airbnb is planing to do other houses from pop culture and it's $100 or less, sometimes even free, like the "Up" house. The caveat is that is essentially a lottery system and not everyone who requests it will be picked.

It's outlined in this article. It sounds like you only get to visit and not sleep or stay in the house.
