Potential Trump VP pick Gov. Kristi Noem says she shot dead a ‘less than worthless’ dog, ‘disgusting’ goat

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who is widely tipped to be former President Donald Trump’s likely pick as running mate, has admitted shooting dead one of her dogs for being “less than worthless” — and similarly killing a goat she found “disgusting.”

The 52-year-old Republican detailed the killings in an upcoming memoir as proof she is willing to do “difficult, messy and ugly” things when needed, according to the Guardian, which obtained an advance copy.

“Cricket was a wirehair pointer, about 14 months old,” she said of the soon-to-be-shot pup with an “aggressive personality” that made her “untrainable.”

Noem took Cricket on a hunt to learn from other dogs — but she instead ruined the hunt by going “out of her mind with excitement” and attacking some chickens like a “trained assassin,” Noem wrote.

When Noem tried to grab the dog, it “whipped around to bite me,” she wrote.
“I hated that dog,” Noem continued, calling Cricket “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog.”

“At that moment, I realized I had to put her down.”
Noem, who also represented her state in Congress for eight years, explained that she then got her gun and led Cricket to a gravel pit.

“It was not a pleasant job,” she said, “but it had to be done.”

She recalled how her daughter, Kennedy “looked around confused” when she came home from school that day, asking: “Hey, where’s Cricket?”
The report did not say exactly when Cricket was killed. But it was not the only animal the politician writes about shooting dead.

Noem also detailed how she killed a “nasty and mean” male goat because it had not been castrated.

She described the animal as smelling “disgusting, musky, rancid” and claimed it “loved to chase” Noem’s children and knock them down.
The goat was also “dragged to a gravel pit,” but jumped when she pulled the trigger, and subsequently survived the wound. Noem went back to her truck to retrieve another shell, then “hurried back to the gravel pit and put him down,” she wrote.

“I guess if I were a better politician I wouldn’t tell the story here,” she concluded the story.

A construction crew witnessed her kill both animals, she said in the book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” which is due to be published next month.
Noem — whom Trump has said is on his shortlist to run as Vice President — addressed the report Friday while plugging the upcoming book.

“We love animals, but tough decisions like this happen all the time on a farm,” she wrote on X alongside a screenshot of the Guardian article. Sadly, we just had to put down 3 horses a few weeks ago that had been in our family for 25 years.

"If you want more real, honest, and politically INcorrect stories that’ll have the media gasping, preorder ‘No Going Back,'” she wrote along with a link.

So was she actually on his VP short list, or are the journofags just saying she was in pursuit of every headline somehow tying back to "Trump bad tho"
Lot of people have been considered and while she was likely lower on whatever list, she's got zero chance now.

You have people scrambling to find anyone that seems competent and loyal to run with Trump so there's not a Pence 2.0 in there where they have to depend more on Trump's family to talk to congress than on their own VP. So doesn't seem that difficult, in a sane world, to really have been considered even though it's apparently a high bar to ask someone to not be a backstabber.

Why haven't more people rated you dumb because holy shit you sure are.
It's fun to watch someone get slammed for making statements that are taken out of context. They do it all the time to the left, so seeing the right suffer for it, it is kind of fun.

But you go ahead and defend a dog murderer, I won't judge you.

I am legitmantly not sure if this is a case of a woman killing the animals she is too stupid to train, or if they were actually out of control by these excerpts. What she is mentions the dog biting her and the goat being aggressive towards her kids, yet goes more into detail into little shit like “oh that dog was a horrible hunting dog!” instead behaviors that would warrant putting down an animal.

We're working off of excerpts from an unreleased book, but I hope that reasonably established outlets aren't torching their credibility by entirely misrepresenting what is in the book. (And, I hope she would correct the record if they are - which she really hasn't)

There are clearly circumstances where putting the dog down with a shotgun is an appropriate thing to do. It is not at all clear to most people who think dogs have some sort of value that she found herself in one of those circumstances. So it's easy to imagine circumstances like "this woman was larping at owning a hunting dog and thought shooting it was the correct course of action" or "she's coldhearted and killed the dog because it ruined her day" because the elements of "the dog had to be put down" don't seem to be there.

My personal headcannon is that she's presented the story to make herself look like strong and determined person, but in reality she made her husband do it and cried for hours and told her kids the dog had gone to live on another farm, but she can't correct the record without dynamiting what is left of her reputation. In any case, she can't play the "I can do the hard thing when it needs to be done" anecdote in her favor, because she's utterly failed to convince anyone that she can credibly assess when something hard needs to be done.

If you never saw Tucker Carlson interview that Palestinian Christian pastor, I'd suggest watching it. The guy points out American evangelicals have no clue what goes on in Israel and don't even give a shit about their fellow Christians there. Turns out it's not easy living between Zionists who want Greater Israel and Muslims with their Caliphate.
I saw it and that retarded pastor was a Jihadi fellatio expert living in an area that was under Jihadi control since 1996.

28 fucking YEARS.

He can either pick up the sword or enjoy being a dhimmi.

Where are you that the local government doesn't cover or heavily subsidize neuterings? Ballpark, not trying to doxxxx anyone, just curious.

Actually, looking into it, Baltimore County covers a neutering and a bunch of vaccines and microchipping for like $20. But I can't find an analog for the city. Huh. I guess I'm lucky I got my cat fixed when I lived in the county.
Those instances were years ago, but I've never actually heard of local government covering the costs before. I live in Scotland. Looking it up, I found an RSPCA page talking about low-cost neutering, but we would have been outside the radius of it.

The Atlantic has an article that's not really worth linking about the sitch. Basically says "she's over."

The new information is that apparently there were people working in the gravel pit at the time, so the supposition on the part of The Atlantic author was that she was trying to get out in front of a story that had the capacity to be OOOOOOGLY later in the year i.e. closer to the election.

And as far as who Trump's VP pick could be, I've seen a bunch of articles floating her name, especially since she's in a "safe" red state and she's about to be termed out. DeSantis, Scott, and Vance are also names I've seen.

I was looking for a good article with her name near the top and I found this one, updated yesterday.

As the kids say, LOL. LMAO even.

Let's be fair here, there is no shortage of humans that also should be shot since they are a menace to society.

Euthanasia costs less than a spay. Costs less than a year of heartworm meds. Costs about the same as a round of puppy vaccines and dewormer.

If you can't afford to humanely put an animal down, you can't afford the animal.
"Just wait for the violent, aggressive animal to stop attacking things before you kill it, dude!"

Flaming hot take:

In the last 24 hours, I've seen floated in a couple places that there were workers in the quarry who saw her shoot the dog and the goat, so by publishing this story she was trying to get out ahead of it.

There's another set of people who might pop up and ask questions:

Noem has three children. At least one of them was a female child who asked where the dog went. I'm not saying her own kid would rat her out, but you never have any control over where family stories wind up. You never know who could drop that bomb.

She's a fucking moron. All she had to say was "One of our dogs ran off, killed a coop of chickens, and tried to bite us when we attempted to stop it. So we made the decision to put it down before it hurt anyone. We were out in the middle of nowhere and with the way it was acting, we didn't have time to get a vet for euthanasia."

Instead, she went full retard and started tough-guy ranting about "I had to put that worthless, good-for nothing dog down! Cuz I'm hard-core! I even made my bitch-ass kid sad!"

She's basically nuked her career.
