Sony hate thread

If I'm late with this observation, feel free to hammer me with vegetables, but this uncomfortably sounds like the same (or similar) thing that happened with the Halo MCC when it was finally ported to PC in that you HAD to have a Microsoft account to even play the single-player portion. I remember the hue and cry when this arbitrary requirement was announced, but Microsoft stuck to their guns and, to this day, you still need an MS account of some type. I already had one from years back, but if I hadn't, I probably would never have purchased the MCC (I still haven't bought Infinite).

I'm also getting sick and tired of being nagged for a MS account whenever a major Windows 11 update happens. Didn't MS get sued for antitrust violations for far less?

>Require to use an anti cheat that bricks your PC to play this game
>Now you're forced to make a Gay Station account to play this game

Sony must not want me to get this game.
The anticheat is one of the reasons I have no interest in this game. I also don't have time for games I can't pause. Thanks for giving me another reason not to play this, Sony.

I said games, not Switch games. If we look at this list for 2023 and 2024 we see that almost every single game on here has a PC release available. Helldivers case-in-point literally being carried in its sales by PC gamers. It's OVER console bros.
Elaborate on how Switch games are not games, especially considering your own example of a “game” was Zelda.

This is one of the major problems console warfags keep ignoring. That, and how even if people wanted to buy a new system, they most likely can't afford it because of how tight money is now.
You're also better off just building a PC if you are serious about gaming. It's been like that since 2014, though.

MOD EDIT:
For context, Sony is frequently subjected to data breaches, including full doxes with account names, passwords, and addresses, and the PSN service they are enforcing is not available in every country which has PC Helldivers II players. The PSN user agreement includes draconian practices such as the ability to ban users for entering false personal information.

In case you thought you hated Sony enough, a new update came out about Helldivers 2 on Steam. They are now requiring you to link a Playstation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. For extra hilarity, it was just announced yesterday that Helldivers 2 is the 7th highest grossing Sony published game in history but if they don't count the PC sales, it wouldn't even rank in the top 20.

One thing in the sphere of gaming that I've came to terms with is the fact that console players are the house niggers of gaming. They're so blindsided by their love for a company that they're just perfect contempt with any and all anti-consumer practices. Not only that, they're willing to accept their subpar services, no matter how shitty they are. Attacking their master is like attacking a piece of them, essentially.

A part of me wonders if this is so they can eventually charge PS+ to play games on other platforms.
This effectively bans everyone in Africa and the Middle East as well as a bunch of South Asian countries since PSN isn't avaliable there.
Hey, I'm trying to be outraged here. Stop giving positives to this.

Honestly, the only group of people that gives them a run for their money are Brazilians.
Boy, changing your HQ to commiefornia really niggers a company fast.
California has a state law that your board members have to be a certain percentage of black or woman. Not that it would change much because board members are typically retarded no matter the group.
The staff have purged the discord of the shitflinging CM's stupidity as they woke up.
But did they apologize for hiring such a spaz after they defenestrated them? Did they defenestrate them at all?

Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft and Sony didn’t help matters by shitting things up, but the death of consoles is basically inevitable with the increase in power of personal computers. Consoles made sense back in the day when they could offer a better price-to-performance ratio than PC’s, but that’s simply not the case anymore.

The only real advantage that a non-handheld console offers over a PC is couch co-op, but nobody really does couch co-op outside of small indie games anymore and Nintendo has that market cornered with the Switch.

Consoles could have a place if they went back to not pushing the absolute envelope of graphics. 4K, RT and the chasing of both killed the console industry. Without top-end graphics, movie games would be PC only (where they should be) meaning only the most devoted of PMCR would build rigs for them, like they used to. Consoles should have stuck to 1080p or 1440p and focused on 120fps with all the bells and whistles and kept the consoles cheap.
The niggercattle would devour a £250 console that played the goyslop games in 1080p@120fps, and the faggots would dick-swing about how great 120fps is.

Not if you pirated it. I'm telling you guys, the wins never stop stacking up for based piracy Chads.
This guys gets it. Don't agree with a policy? Pirate the game. "it only wakes 2 minutes to make an account"! It takes less time to queue up the torrent.

I remember in the 1990s you had grown adults getting into shouting matches about which video game console was superior. Consolefags were the prototype to the modern day consoomer.

Honestly, I don't think even this would differentiate consoles enough to save them. If you look at stats, most PC players are still perfectly happy playing at 1080p and the cost to do so keeps falling and falling, so you'd just end up with the same problem at a lower price tier.

You'd have to do something totally out of left field like Nintendo has and provide a totally different experience that PC gaming doesn't to meaningfully compete. And I don't know if most Playstation or Xbox buyers really want that.

Console is cattle convenience. They would sooner buy a cheap slop box than build a cheaper PC. Microsoft were half-way right with the Series S but didn't have the conviction or confidence to launch it 1080p only and then launch the Series X later.

You're right though, the baby has been thrown out with the bath water, the horse has bolted and the milk spilled. The best thing, the only thing, for the console industry now is a complete reset. Burn it to the ground, remove the infestation of politics faggots and start from scratch.

Consoles used to have certain advantages over PCs but all of those advantages have been disappearing over time, so now consoles are like "PCs except worse."

Entitled gamers are freaking out and harassing developers because they have to spend a minute now to create a new free account? Just when you thought the gaming community couldn't sink any lower.

Why would people not trust putting any info and linking their Steam account to a company with a history of at least 8 hacks + 5 massive data breaches?

It's a mystery.

And some of them were due to the inevitable convergence of technology, but some have been entirely self-inflicted. I'm convinced if consoles were still the standalone boxes that just played standalone games without all the bullshit of broken games and day-one patches and DLC and a million account logins and so forth, they'd still actually have a meaningful value proposition compared to a PC.

I still have my PS3 in the basement and I plan on getting a PS1 and PS2 to go along with it. I have knowledge of a bunch of mods for both systems. The memory card that uses micro SD cards is a must. In fact, I should get one for my GameCube.
You can set up an M.2 for your PS2.

It’s not just about the power it’s about the lasting power. The reason I walked away from pc gaming around 2008 was because the GPU‘s were so fucking fast obsolete for new games. I invested way too much in my view for my pc back then. Bought a killer machine. Guess what, not even 1,5 years later the new games couldn’t fucking run on high let alone on a good resolution.

Then the GTX Era with the 1080 began, all of a sudden you had a powerful reliable card that made sure your investment wasn’t a total fucking waste. Then SSD‘s started to become affordable, it was the layup of the decade and then with a killing-dunk the RTX series started as well.
I am currently putting money on the side for a future pc, not sure on the config but the max is 2500 for me.

That is weapons-grade paranoia. That’s not how emulators work. They don’t do that and it’s not even possible-
Not at the same level, but after the yuzu kerfuffle, emustation stopped showing the switch and gamecube emulators and I ended up having to fuck with config files to restore them. Since then I avoid updating anything if I'm in the middle of playthroughs.
I will confess to a big chunk of that count being NDS-level shovelware cause I downloaded rompacks.
I downloaded one from Genesis and intended to curate it to only keep the better games. After a few hours I was still in letter F. I count my blessings that I found a curated neo geo and arcade list.
Except for Bloodborne. Never Bloodborne. Fucking niggers.
After this, odds are it will be fucked from the outset because "you need PSN" for the online. So I can't even look forward to that now.

I'm one of those. My PC monitors are 1080p and thanks to that my GTX 1060 6GB still covers all my needs. I have a 4k tv but barely use it for gaming since my PS4 is very neglected (though I should really go back to Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown...) and though I have a Steam Deck dock, I prefer handheld for what I'm playing at the moment (and even then I'm perfectly fine with the upscaled visuals).

4k in gaming has been one of the stupidest most selfdefeating fads out there. 3d at least had the decency to die fast.

That's an absurd waste of money. You're far, far better off buying a $1000 PC (I actually wouldn't even spend that much, but just for sake of argument) and then another $1000 PC in the future than blowing all that money on something so far to the right on the price-to-performance curve.
