Sony hate thread

a PC will never be as simple and easy as a console, even if it's just a meme, let alone be allowed below the TV in the living room by the gf/wife.
the whole point of a console is ease of use and convenience, which most people don't/can't want to deal with when it comes to PCs.
I've never understood this. Everything uses HDMI cables now. Just plug your computer into your TV and boom, big computer monitor. Then use a game controller as usual. There is no functional difference between a PC and a Console other then the fact a Console is a gated ecosystem and a PC is not.

I support negative reviews from legit accounts, but I would love to take a magnifying glass to the metrics on this to see how many accounts are new.
You can do this with the built in filtering functions in steam.

Of all reviews since May 1st (Steam doesnt show the number of reviews when filtering for negative or positive for some reason, but only 4% of review in this period are positive anyways lol)

  • 145,392 over 1 hour playtime
  • 143,517 over 10 hours
  • 92,340 over 50 hours
  • 45,207 over 100 hours
  • Only 1,144 under 2 hours.

So no your theory that people are just going around buying the game and refunding it to review bomb is stupid and gay.

I don't know whether or not this is a requirement, because I've never attempted to astroturf reviews.

There is a work-around for this by malicious people:

Buy game, write review, refund game without playing it.

All that's required is ~$40 to rotate through a set of prepaid cards.
that's not how it works and never did

Abuse

Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

Why play consoles with no games, expensive hardware, expensive games, paid online, constant updates, meta-dats scraping spyware, censorship, shite UI's and, the worst of fucking all, social shit like "black out for BLM"?
because normies gonna norm. it's always been this way. go ahead, try it. tell them all this you just wrote, and after a few seconds watch their eyes glaze over.

that's what you and I know. again, you have too look at it from the normalfag perspective. or maybe simpler, average playstation nignog:
"computer? nah man that's complicated"
"I wanna play a game, not do more work"
"wtf why is this so expensive?" (and good luck explaining torrenting to them)
"pc who? man I want BRAND"
"specs? the fuck you're talking about?"

has console gaming become worse? absolutely, but here's the thing: most of them don't know or care. how many current playstation 5 owners you think owned a playstation 2, or even remember it? and even if how many think there's a big difference? again you can tell them all that, and it won't matter, because a console is a device from company X you buy on amazon, put below your tv and play. if this device breaks you take it back and/or shit on company X. people don't want freedom, even less if it inconveniences them (or think it does) and the advantages aren't apparent immediately. it's kinda like the windows vs linux debate, just with more dunning-kruger.

What's stranger is that these companies are clearly trying to make their consoles more and more like a PC as time goes on. They basically have their own desktop now. Heck, pirating is getting easier on these things as time goes on.

That's fine. Anyone out to astroturf needs a new account for each review.

Also, steam has built in protections against this, I bought MSFS 2020 and didnt realize it required a MS account(im stupid) so I left a negative review with 3 minutes play time and refunded but my review didnt post.

wtf why is this so expensive
Which is even more mind numbing. Because they aren't that much more expensive unless you are buying top of the line shit that is marketed for e-sports. More importantly though, a good rig can last through at least 3 console generations with moderate upkeep. I bought my rig in the middle of the PS4 era and it still runs shit coming out this generation fine. The most money I've spent on it since buying it was a new Graphics card THIS YEAR, but that's only so I could play Cyberpunk on ultra setting.

I wouldn't go THAT far... they all seem to use the same "square pictures of the game behind a background" that are completely uncustomizeable as in you can't change the theme or add a wallpaper. It's almost to the point where it's indistinguishable from one another.
I was speaking strictly from a functional standpoint more than an aesthetic one.

You and I know this, but @ZMOT is right that the niggercattle don't know how any of that works. They don't know what "PCIe" is, much less PCIe 3 vs 4 vs 5. They don't know what RAM does, much less what type or how much they'd need. It's like trying to explain to the average white woman what's wrong with her car - she doesn't understand and she doesn't care to understand.

But that said, I think we're reaching an inflection point of PCs becoming easy and consoles becoming more complicated where it'll be a wash. We're already almost there.

Its hard to tell who is fucking up more at this point.
Arrowhead is being silent on a company level not even saying "We're in discussions with sony to remedy these problems."
But their CMs are just shitting the bed left n right in displays of bipolar personalities. "its their fault! GO fuck yourselves! That man is a rapist! Get banned!"
This has been going on for days making any sympathy of Arrowhead quickly disappear.

It truly is a conundrum. We offer the filthy console peasants the path to ascension and yet they continue to just roll in the mud and eat whatever shit their chosen corporate overlord chooses to shovel into their mouths.

yeah, that's what you see with the adoption rate etc., but there will always be a market for consoles because that's what some people want.

Sounds like some asshole is waving a Developer Contract at him every time he asks to un-screw the situation.
Maybe it's callous, but I just can't be bothered to give a damn anymore. There's been so many of these "well golly gee, fellow gamerinos, we just hate the way things turned out, but our hands are contractually tied!" situations over the years and I'm just sick of it.

If you're selling a product professionally then your "circumstances" are not my problem. Deliver the goods or go out of business - I don't much care which.

The "master race le epik lulz" meme was idiotic back during the PS3 debacle days, and it holds true to this day. Consoles are no longer simple plug-and-play devices with properly developed software. You will need a dumb account, and 7 out 10 times that shiny new game will need to login to some bullshit server and download "updates". Releasing broken and unfinished messes, a timeless staple of pc gaming, has become the norm in console games.
And unless you're buying from something like GoG, your shiny new download will be laden with DRM horseshit. I don't understand why people declare "winners" amidst this whole circus.

>PCfags don't get game
>they complain
>PCfags do get game

At some point developers are just gonna get sick of le epic PC master race fags bitching and moaning at every opportunity and say fuck it, nothing for you anymore.
The last time I remember PC gamers weren't bitching about everything under the sun it was when the PS2 was still the big thing.
Unfortunately, console players don't buy enough games and thus need PC gamers to bail out the studios.
