PC gods win again.
I think it helped a lot that the Developers themselves were extremely pissed at Sony. They were definitely rocking the boat and making it known they were going to look for better options. I wonder if they had a deal that permitted them to leave Sony as a publisher.I am in total disbelief the review bombing actually worked this quickly, and with Sony. wow
You again? Is it ok to cyberbully?
Hopefully this is also a lesson to game developers that they should never do business with Sony, less they risk the chance of losing the PC Market. If I were the head of a game development company, I would not do business with Sony and would avoid them like the plague. While this is great news and a win for Helldivers players, the lesson Sony will take from this is that they should should never give devs an inch (if your account linking doesn't work at launch, looks like your game isn't coming out bub) and be more deceptive and in complete control of dev PR just in case they try to explain to gamers who is really to blame for all the bad decisions they are being forced to move ahead with.
as long as gaben stays fed, we remain safeValve takes something like 40% off every game sold. You needn't worry.

Let's be honest, the reason Valve did that is because Valve also does not want people to need 3rd party accounts to play games sold on the platform.I think Valve deserves some credit for being willing to issue refunds after a substantial period of time over Sony’s business practices. They’re one of the only companies left that’s still run be an Internet pioneer. The fact that it’s privately held rather than publicly traded I think also has something to do with it.
Sony has decided to backtrack on the PSN account requirement to play Helldivers 2 on PC:

And even though the negative reviews played a part at this change of heart (?), it also goes to show how shitty Blizzard has gotten, since Overwatch 2 is still THE lowest rated game on Steam, and that game wasn't improved even with the low ratings.
Ok, just remove the garbage anti cheat and I will buy this game.Sony has decided to backtrack on the PSN account requirement to play Helldivers 2 on PC:

At least steam decks are trying to shift that monopoly. I own a nintendo switch and i love the games on it but god is the console shit and limits the games on it a ton. Even then, the only reason you'd get a switch is for the exclusive games (breath of the wild, mario kart, etc.).They're the monopoly on the handheld market, they don't NEED to do more than add an extra 5%. Considering the modern games industry releasing sub standard products at full price then going "Whoops, we're sorry" when the inevitable bugs and issues show up due to lack of QA and people still buy it. Why would they change their strategy with the "new" one?
You always do, be careful who you enter business with because once they fuck up you fuck up. I'm tired of treating devs like they're toddlers that daddy publishers keep leading down the wrong path, they're not fucking babies they're adults and if they decided to tie themselves to ill reputed companies when they have to do some retarded corpo choice they should also get the same facefull of dick the parent company does.i mean, they kind of didn't have a choice, i'd think.
