Console companies make more than enough off them. Any attempts to appease the PC crowd is just pandering and corporate greed.
Here's what happens. We'll use Ghost of Tsushima as an example.
Ghost of Tsushima is made as a Playstation exclusive.
Playstation players love the game
PCbabies piss, whine, bitch, and moan because "exclusives are mean!!"
5 years later they say fuck it, we'll release it on PC
They fuck with the console version and make it damn near unplayable because they're trying to coddle the crying PCbabies (the update right as they released the PC version, they made single player laggy as fuck on console trying to make cross platform play possible, because they need to force the console players to play with the retarded children)
And I haven't heard anything yet but I'm sure there will be oodles of PCbrats crying about "muh optimization" when it was never a problem for any other player.
Playstation fags are elitist, Microsoft fags are soy, Nintendofags are autistic soyfags, and PCfags are just wannabe elitist spoiled crybabies.

I can't think of a single PC gamer clamoring for Ghost of Tsushima. It's a pretty good game but it's also a last-gen title. It strikes me more as Sony trying to wring out more cash from the game because they've consistently been losing revenue everywhere else.

Maybe you should be buying more fantastic Playstation titles instead of posting here. That way Sony doesn't need to supplement their dogshit sales.

Lots won't buy Tsushima now since it requires PSN for multiplayer, even though most would probably get it just for the sinlgeplayer if they do get it.

But it'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the next couple days, I feel its too big for Sony to stay quiet about it, at least for their shareholders. They have a easy out but there's no way they'll take it.

Sony has decided to backtrack on the PSN account requirement to play Helldivers 2 on PC:

And even though the negative reviews played a part at this change of heart (?), it also goes to show how shitty Blizzard has gotten, since Overwatch 2 is still THE lowest rated game on Steam, and that game wasn't improved even with the low ratings.

Everyones fed up with having to have 30 accounts to play one game or access one thing, people are just fed up with it. Let everyone download game and hit play with no bullshittery in the mix and everyone would be happy.

I'm cautiously optimistic but I'm not convinced it'll stay this way in the future. Corporations are too in love with policing their customers in every way they can.

has console gaming become worse? absolutely, but here's the thing: most of them don't know or care. how many current playstation 5 owners you think owned a playstation 2, or even remember it? and even if how many think there's a big difference? again you can tell them all that, and it won't matter, because a console is a device from company X you buy on amazon, put below your tv and play. if this device breaks you take it back and/or shit on company X. people don't want freedom, even less if it inconveniences them (or think it does) and the advantages aren't apparent immediately. it's kinda like the windows vs linux debate, just with more dunning-kruger.

Think about the age of most of the Snoys that are eager to defend Sony. They're all mid 20s, maybe late 20s at most? Their frame of reference is the tail end of the PS3 at best, which is when that console was in a tolerable state because they don't know how awful the console was at launch, how much it lagged behind the Xbox 360 on multi-plat releases, or how Sony got hacked. They don't know about the Xbox 360 releasing a banger every few weeks from 2006-2009, they just know the Xbox has been a joke ever since the XBONE came out. The Wii U came out right as they were like 8 yrs old, so they've sworn off Nintendo forever and now see it as a shitty console that can't even play their normiecore shit like CoD or NBA2k.

You remember those great games on the PC that you fell in love with? Warcraft? Age of Empires? Caesar? SimCity? Half-Life? Rollercoaster Tycoon? Command & Conquer? They never played any of that, they don't even know what MS-DOS is. These fucking retards are delusional partly because they legit do not know better. All they know is shit, so eating shit is perfectly fine with them. It's why they think PC gamers are entitled because they think "these crybaby PC gamers have some insane expectations" while everyone older than them remembers a time when those expectations weren't unreasonable.

This is even more apparent when you consider the subscription fee for PS+ just so you can play games online. The sneaky cunts at Sony actually raised the price on the same day as Starfield released so everyone would be distracted because they knew that regardless of whether the game is good or bad, people can't shut the fuck up about Bethesda games.
