I think the movies are more accessible. The books are pseudo-religious texts (that was the literal point). Pretty well written, but I don't blame anyone who prefers the movies, even the extended versions, being more to the point.

The books have some of the best prose written in fantasy, and some of the best prose in the 20th century. Not that the movies aren't very good, but most of the best parts of the films are when they directly copy lines and dialogue from the books.

Very lazy. Or being more generous, he just doesn't care. It's the same reason he rarely ventures outside of standard pop culture stuff for his reviews. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I watch a few other people who primarily review pop culture stuff. It's popular for a reason and there's obviously an audience for it. It just stands out more with Mauler because he acts so pretentious about storytelling, despite having little to no experience with "deeper" storytelling

Watched the entire fallout show review (dont ask me how) and he did a good job shiting on it. Fans have the right to be angry, just as with the Halo show and Rings of Power. Betsheda and Amazon should be ashamed.

but lets not forget. Malur is not a fan of the series. he had alot of people help him make this video and give him all the info from the games he needed to shit on the show. his more of a mouth piece for the angry fans of his discord.

And keep in mind that he's always going on about how the source material doesn't matter and should judge the show on its own merits. Why did he need these experts if the source material doesn't matter?

even on its merits, the show is awful. just shoving in as many references as possible and having characters do stupid things to waste the viewers time without any real pay off by the end. then they bait you with a new season when its just gonna be more of the same.

I'm not disagreeing with you, it's just important to highlight that he will only reference the source material when he doesn't like something.
