There isn’t much goyslop that I miss, but these tasty Lil Debbie fingercakes were occasionally a guulty pleasure:

Only thing like them that I can find is Tokyo Banana, which are fantastic but have to be ordered online at great expense or found at Asian grocers. BTW, artificial banana flavor is so much stronger than real bananas because it models the bananas used back in the day, Gros Michels. Gros Michel crops globally were essentially wiped out in the 1960’s by a fungus. The milder Cavendish banana took over the common market.

You can still get Big Mike bananas in some places; they're just not exported that much anymore. Having bought some, they don't really taste like artificial banana candy - that's just clickbait bullshit. I got it off of Miami Fruit and I was so mad it only tasted like a slightly sweeter Cavendish - my dad has tasted Big Mike before, and he said it wasn't how he remembered it. Idk what the hell is going on but I wouldn't believe the hype.

Those small Thai Bananas are where it's at, imo.

Why? Ain't Stevia supposed to be healthier without any of the downsides?

It has a very weird after taste. Sometimes the product is good at masking it.

TFW you were a poor 80s kid and this was a WIC approved cereal. I just can't unsee it as welfare brand cereal considering how many times my choices were this or no frills CORN FLAKES. White box. Black letters in all capitals. People actually liked it? I didn't know it was discontinued. For years as a kid I thought it was cereal made specifically for poor people. It wasn't until years later I realised it was a regular cereal and ended up on the WIC list because it boasted a high vitamin content. I think it was kind of like Cap'n Crunch? And I didn't like that one.

I don't like that stuff at all. A combo I like is glucose, sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Having a little bit of an actual sugar in the mix helps cut the chemical flavor a lot.

At least I can still just buy the separate flavors, but I always enjoyed these. I might just make them myself at this point.

On the topic of ice cream bars I sure do miss the milk chocolate with almonds dove bars, Haagen-Dazs makes one but it's not the same their ice cream always has this grit to it not the Dove their shit was oh so smooth.
EDIT: I had to check and they do make them but it's retail only 12 packs for individual sale.

Sticking with ice cream, since it is hotter than hell anyway, I really miss what used to be my favorite store-bought ice cream flavor.

Blue Bell used to make a "Summer Berries and Cream" ice cream that was so fucking good. Naturally, it was seasonal, so it was only around for the summer, but I just haven't seen it in any store in years. I can't even find a picture of it online! I see pictures of just "Summer Berries" and maybe that's the same stuff with a pared down name... but it might not be. Doesn't matter, really, 'cause I've never seen that one in a store either.

I was actually just thinking of ice cream today because it was 96F outside and I hate summer. There was a brand of ice cream, Green's or maybe Kemp's? I can't remember. But I think it's one that's still around. They had a flavor called Liberty Bell Krackle. It had pieces of thin chocolate with crisp rice in it. It was really good.

I think you can still get them in Canada and the UK (haven’t seen them in burgerland for ages) but Bounty made these ice cream and coconut bars that my brother and I loved in the 90s. Tasted much better than the regular Bounty candy bar.

I remember those... for some reason the US Navy stocked them in the ship's store on my carrier (in 2002-2005) when we were on deployment and frequently got stuff that was local to whatever the depot country was. I grew to like them because they were apparently not popular and therefore available. When you've just gotten off watch in an area where it's 98F directly under a high velocity vent, and god only knows what everywhere else, having any kind of ice cream was nice.

Might just be a problem in Europe, but I miss the times when chocolate and confections were a decent size and shrinkflation wasn't the norm. On reruns of sitcoms from the 90s you'll occasionally see how big a chocolate bar used to be and realize how much everything has reduced in size over the years.

It's like that in the States as well.

I hate that shit. I'd rather pay more and get the real deal than get gypped with some miserable, paltry, inferior item. The absolute worst was when Toblerone turned from this:

I bought one of these and was like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS ***SHIT***???

They undid the change but the damage was done. It isn't discontinued, but it would taste like a turd in my mouth to eat something from scumbags who Jewed me this hard.
