I'd like to think Chris truly believes what he's saying since he's been doing this ghost shit for 15 years or so, seems like it's a genuine passion project of sorts as opposed to Minecrap Puppet Steve. It's really hard to get into a mindset as batshit as Chris Bores though so it's hard telling.

to some extent he's a genuine ghost schizo, but there's a lot of shit in Ghost Doctor that raises some red flags, like him editing light and sound effects into episode 10 that points towards, at the very least, knowingly sensationalizing his ghost shit for views, even if less overtly than the "true" """professionals"""

I think a lot of people don't realize this is a textbook old age scam, on par with Goop shit and other kinds of pseudoscience revolving around the paranormal (Like the nigger who claims he can "teleport gemstones into his body" or the faggot with a cult that can "heal you by staring at you").

Bores knows exactly what he's doing and he has full malicious intent. His AVGN ripoff career didn't pan out, his career as a cocomelon ripoff using a minecraft puppet also didn't see much money coming in... What's the easiest thing you can do that makes money after that? Trick people into thinking you're a paranormal guide of course. He saw what those fuckers were doing and like ALWAYS he goes "I can do that too! :)" and thus, we now have this. He'll either succeed and have his own cult ( 🌈 ) or crash and burn like he always fucking does and move onto the next thing, probably make fake gameplay garten of banban chapter 8472 videos.

The thing with Bores is that he had been doing his ghost hunting schtick for years even when the Irate Gamer was at his peak and had been saying a lot of schizo shit back then.

Even if it is still an act, Bores is still making himself look like a dumbass.

I hate this stuff, I believe in the supernatural but the amount of grifters in the paranormal "sector" is almost if not 100%. You'd think with all of human tragedy and all the potential haunted homes out there that a couple people could go in and do some semi-scientific testing. Yeah it doesn't "sell" because 90% of the time it will just be videos of "well nothing happened at totally haunted supermax from 1910" but just once we could get something. Ghost Hunting has been a scam going back to the Victorian age.

So it's no surprise Chris Bores is in on it. The man is a posterchild for grift seeking and failing. The guy who always buys in when others are cashing it, when a market is saturated, when the pyramid scheme needs more bottoms.

I don't follow the lore as closely so maybe someone can explain why this guy can't just have a day job and create a video career as a hobby on the side. Bores always seemed up his own derrière, but unlike many other lolcows it seemed all he needed to do was just touch grass and not take himself too seriously. Throughout IG, it seemed he lost some friends to the point he had to play all the roles himself and I'm surprised to hear he had a kid. I guess it was naive of me to hope this man would eventually move on from his dream of being a celebrity.
