I'm not a geneticist so don't quote me on this, but I believe that some disorders are more likely in men because they only have one X-chromosome so if something goes wrong they're probably just fucked. Whereas if a woman is carrying an allele for a deleterious condition, she has a second X chromosome which can sometimes shield her from the negative effects of whatever the mutation would be.

Also I'm pretty sure that the Y-chromosome in general has a higher mutation rate than X-chromosomes but I don't really know why so I won't elaborate on that one.
