She reminds me of Ian Curtis here. She'll probably share fates with him.

I absolutely thought this was a joke, but there is circumstantial evidence this person could have been at an event Ellen was speaking at.

went to a discussion led by elliot page earlier today and there were many good things said but at one point the other presenter asked him "what's a cool thing about yourself that has nothing to do with being trans?" and he said "uhh this is all I've got going for me" and then paused before adding "if anyone has three oranges, I can juggle"

annabelle--cane
just to clarify, this was a discussion about transness and the other presenter was also trans, the question was framed like "a friend of mine said recently that being trans is the least interesting thing about him and he dislikes the implication this is the totality of what we can talk about, so what's an unrelated fact about yourself?" this wasn't a cis person being weird, this was a trans woman at a trans event saying a few words against pigeon holing before getting back on topic.

o marina~

• b. april 2, 2002. (I always forget to update this so it's easier to put my birthday than my age)

o any pronouns

o bi, genderfluid, grey ace. since there's been confusion about this before, I also sometimes use broader umbrella terms like gay or nonbinary, but the aforementioned are still my specific labels.

o massachusetts, us/uk citizenship, white.

  • english first language, passable spanish.
  • terminal english major disease. in ninth grade I wrote an essay on fate vs free will in romeo and juliet and I haven't been the same since.
  • I am diseased, but mostly you're gonna have to pick up what's wrong with me from carefully placed context clues. I try not to sadpost on main, and if I ever do it's either under a cut or just in tags so you can easily avoid it, I get that's not what a lot of people want to read.

o when I was in middle school I would always just put "I like chocolate and cats" in my social media bios and know what? it's still true

OP lives in Mass and Ellen was in MA on May 6th which lines up with this post.

"this is all I've got going for me" ... truer words were never spoken

She actually can juggle

Wow, just woooooow.

Girl, You had a leg up over other BPD headcases in that you actually have real talent in a couple of things. You really could have pushed your poor sense of self and identity into revolving around one of your hobbies, and it would have made you so much more likable. And frankly, you'd probably be a lot happier for it.

Being trans isn't a hobby or a passion, though these people seem to treat it like that, when they aren't treating it like a professional victim based career.

Seeing that video of her as a cute young woman juggling and then seeing her worn out, poisoned looking current year self is a great example of what Gendershit Ideology does to people.
Ok she was always a wacko going by her book, but at least she used to be able to hold her shit together enough to score A movie roles.
Now she just does speaking circuit bullshit for pozzed propaganda outlets and talks about being a Pooner.

Obsessive neurotic weirdos are the type of people who to actually really benefit from overfocusing on a creative hobby.

People are gonna get tired pretty quickly if you're just endlessly talking about all the negative things in your life or your problems, but decent people will be patient with and appreciate an odd duck with a quirky hobby she's hyperfixated on.

God, give me all the neg stickers but this makes me so MATI, she used to look so cute. The trannies' actual genocide on tomboys will never be forgiven.
It's sad that the only memories we have of actual good tomboys are from the three decades, 80s, 90s and 2000s, and then the tranny uprising became a huge thing by the time shit like Occupy Wall Street happened in 2011 and have gotten worse in 2015

Agreed.

Take the roller derby example, she just could have that as hobby and have a group of girl friends, ease the stress from daily life, stay active and just have fun. And would be a good topic in talk show interviews.

Such a shame it's not like that.

I'm going to be generous and say if this is true then it was just a self-deprecating little sarcastic haha on Ellen's part...but many a truth is spoken in jest.

Homie at the top looks like he's seen some shit.
He's also got stone cold eyes, like this is a dude than can stick a bayonet through your stomach and nail you to the floor of his dug out, and go back to brewing his coffee while you flop about on the floor bleeding out and it wont phase him. He's got the eyes of a Commando.
Ellen looks like she's just got out of Sobibor Concentration Camp and she's dead inside. She's got the eyes of a Sonderkommando.
She looks tired, depressed, and just checked out.
She used to have light and life in her eyes, now she looks like she wants to die but its just too much effort and she's exhausted already.

People focused on the 'vitriolic' word choice, when I said that I meant 'in comparison to anything she's actually done' not compared to any of the other threads on the site. Also while she shouldn't have made a thing out of it she definitely did not ruin Chris Pratt's career.

I see a biography as one of the last things you do as a celebrity / a sign nobody is actually interested and her transitioning was probably an attempt to avoid it and rekindle her career that didn't work rather than why she wrote the biography. I'm not american but is she really that influential to young people? if she is inspiring anyone to transition they are probably 25-30+. Like even this thread a lot of it is nostalgiaposting about what she used to look like.

Emma Portner update:

Emma Portner is restaging a ballet called Islands which she first staged in 2018. It's about lesbians, and in the new version, it starts with the two women dancing inside the same pair of pants.

This is a quote she did from an interview in March:

Islands saved my life, in a way. When I went into it, I wasn’t in a great place. I was going through a lot in my personal life. I didn’t feel like a legitimate person to be making ballets. I felt like my personality was incompatible with the machine of the ballet institution. So when Ingrid called me, I declined at first. The only reason I ended up doing it was because I felt like I needed to escape the States. I needed to have a new start.
I wanted the piece to be two women. I wasn’t setting out to do a gay piece, I just felt that in the ballet space in 2018, queer representation was either by chance—like the lead got sick, so someone else had to come in and now it’s a queer duet for one night—or it’s this big, sweeping, romantic duet. I felt there was nuance and reality lacking. And I felt like, What if queerness isn’t the thing we’re putting onstage, it just exists? And we’re allowed to have a complex relationship, and have the queerness be secondary to that? Because that’s the truth to me.

In my earlier work, I would put way too many ideas into one thing. I couldn’t tolerate sitting with an idea long enough to see it develop. Now, I’m much more able to sit with things, and that’s what I really wanted to do with this one. The only idea I had going into it was that because of the classical tutu, women’s hips have been four feet apart for hundreds of years. I was like, What if we were able to reverse that? So for the first half of the piece, they are literally dancing inside the same pair of pants. That was the most fascinating and most frustrating and most awkward process. Some days in rehearsal, it was like, Okay, we need a break from the pants for five minutes.

Ellen & Emma only met a year before (Ellen dmed her on instagram) so if she was already going through a lot around the time they got married, it was a mess the whole time. I still think Emma really tried to make it work.

She's also the villain in an upcoming A24 horror film which is about a mysterious lost tv show, but the two main characters are a cis lesbian and a trans non-binary man who are of course in a relationship. And it also cuts between them as adults and them as kids discovering themselves. Considering how much shit she got for leaving Ellen after her transition (and I bet she had waited to try and avoid that) that's an interesting choice. The villain is called Mr Melancholy and is the moon or moon-shaped so a masculine character. The film is I Saw the TV Glow.

Also she consistently says 'queerness' now instead of lesbianism. I don't think she used to do that.

Also while she shouldn't have made a thing out of it she definitely did not ruin Chris Pratt's career.
I agree with that. Evangelical Christians just love to cry persecution, which I don't mind since Christians in antiquity loved looking for reasons to throw themselves to the lions. But no one cancelled Chris Pratt, you're correct.
