Empathy for ruptured anuses and zippertitties? :gunt:

It's just like she just didn't like having breasts, for whatever reason, and she just wanted to get rid of them but this was the only way and she isn't fully on board.

I mentioned this before, but Nicole Richie said in an interview that she disliked growing breasts while she was breastfeeding her first child. Her reason was that she used to wear clothes that fit better with a flatter chest and without wearing a bra. She said she couldn't do that with bigger boobs. Considering she grew up in Hollywood, she knows how people there are even more judgemental and lascivious about young women's bodies so of course she was too self conscious about hiding her body. By the times she hit her 30s, she got a boob job.

Ellen is a lesbian. She should like women's breasts. Thing is, she has them herself. Something in her brain ain't able to connect that she has the thing she's supposed to lust for... unless she doesn't and she wants them gone because it reminds them that she doesn't like them.

Maybe her past experiences made her hate looking like an attractive woman. First, she stopped having sex with men and then she stopped wanting to be a woman.

It's not uncommon for women to like breasts on others but hate their own, especially if they're in the D+ category. Most of my genderspecial friends spent years talking about how much they hated their boobs before the word "trans" ever entered their vocabulary, and they all got top surgery within weeks of deciding they were some flavor of Not Woman.

I don't disagree with women wanting breast reduction. There are lots of reasons why people hate their breasts: societal ones like too much unwanted sexual attention at too young an age (girls who develop quickly tend to be sexualized very young, which can really fuck you up) or, in more religious settings, being treated like a whore as a teenager for something you can't change, and also more physical reasons like back aches, irritation, and just the discomfort of having two sacks of fat on your chest, whatever the size. I actually wish breast reductions were more commonly recommended; I think it'd do a lot of good for women with complicated feelings around their breasts without going the zippertit butcher route.

With Ellen, I think it's much more of the societal trauma, considering she was pretty flat beforehand, and I'm not very surprised that she would want to distance herself from the Sexualized Woman Part due to sexual trauma. If she'd had a mastectomy and called it there, no one would have cared--but then, no one would have cared, and she can't have that.

A reduction still has the possibility of impacting a woman's ability to breastfeed, correct? Personally I think a reduction is only justified when it's due to significant medical issues like constant backaches. Otherwise I see it as being skin to plastic surgery, because you're still chopping yourself up for the goal of a hypothetical satisfaction with your body that you'll most likely never truly achieve.
