Facts. I don't like EJ at all and his comics suck.... but regardless of how I feel about it, credit where credit is due, he is reinvesting back into the 'bidness' constantly and all it takes is one project to click and the RippaVerse truly launches with an infrastructure to back it.

As for @FROG, I don't think he understands that he can't rely on past glory anymore, people are tired of the arrogance. and no product. He's like that hot chick at high school everyone wanted to bang but she doesn't understand 20 years have past, having 3 kids and gaining 40 pounds just doesn't have the same allure.

For me there was just an increasing amount of secondhand embarrassment as he became more and more obsessed with Eric July. It just made him look so freaking weak and sad and it wasn't fun anymore. I forget what stream it was, but there was one where Ethan was trying to give EJ some advice - like he resigned himself to not being the top seller anymore but figured he could still position himself as the wise and seasoned expert. Eric July pretty much told him thanks but no thanks, and it wasn't long after that when Ethan lost his mind and subjected everyone to his therapy cope sessions masquerading as drama farming.

But yeah, the arrogance thing is harder to pull off and less entertaining when you're also constantly doing everything you can to remind everyone of how ego-bruised you are.

I don't mind Eric. But I also have a high tolerance of Anarco Libertarians. This biggest thing that held him back on ISOM #1 and #2 was being alone in the dark on the development of that IP. I've dreamed up countless universes, hundreds of characters within them, etc. etc. But I gave it all time to distill down into a coherent idea. When the racing gates open for a new writer, it's tough to tie down a consistent plot. There's a 1000 different ideas that all scream into your frontal lobe at the same earsplitting volume. Kind of like being a dubstep concert while a fire alarm is going off. Its tough to tell art from warning bells.
Likewise, the art in those books suffered from what I call Writer's High. Unlike artists, writers are left with the visuals of their stories only existing in imagination land. When you see your long strived for work brought to life (in any form), it's often awe inspiring. The dopamine rush of seeing your heroes standing proud for the first time is unlike anything I've experienced. (I've been on a lot of surgical level drugs)
Eric likely didn't see ANY of the errors in those first books, not because of any laziness or lack of intent to deliver exictement and intrigue---but because he was blinded by finally taking command of his complaints against modern Marvel.

That's why I forgive the mistakes he's made. I only avoided making most of them because I didn't have $200,000.00 to throw at a universe. I probably would've fallen into the same trap if I didn't need a year to put together 21 story pages.

I think ISOM #3 is going to blow people away. Eric has had Chuck Dixon and Mike Baron to chat with about the itty-bitty pieces of the Rippaverse that Eric likes to fixate on. My guess is they greatly boosted his understanding of his own world, and how to communicate those tiny pieces without completely throwing the brakes on the flow of the story to address them.

With EJ, its more the attitude and the intellectual deficiencies at times I dislike, like the mental gymnastics with the charity books with Rekieta... But I do think you're right, its his first foray into comic book writing and to get this far is admirable, to invest money like that shows his commitment, plus he can only get better and like you said with Dixon, Baron et al he has such disciplined, comic seasoned minds around him which can only be a good thing. whilst I disliked ISOM 1/2, AlphaCore - I do have hope he will make a good project, I think Goodying the Polymath could be it.

I feel you man with the creator/writer high, I get artist high when I am so lost in a painting or illustration that I'm vibing and with so much that I make silly mistakes and only a day or two later I'm like "aight I gotta rework this now" but that rush makes me lose sleep because you have to harness it when it happens.

People can't forget that EVS is a narcissist, and to a narcissist ego is everything. EVS has always had a sensitive ego, which has been often bruised. He's always whined about how people are always letting him down, offending him, taking advantage of him, not being sufficiently grateful, etc. And if you offend EVS' (fragile) ego, you become an enemy for him to destroy. He's the kind of person who loves enemies, loves the idea of people wronging him, and who loves to plot his revenge against theses to satisfy his sense of self-importance or whatever.

All the bridges burned are because of EVS' narcissistic ego. Years ago Jeremy of G+G yelled at him in the High Council days (according to EVS) instead of reverencing him and his ego, so then Jeremy became an enemy to humiliate and destroy. That grudge festered in EVS and when the Zack Snyder charity debacle happened on the G+G channel, EVS was so thrilled to finally get back at Jeremy. That's when he pounced with his trash-talk speech and the "zeros" remarks.

The zeros remarks pissed off Az, which at the time EVS didn't intend and wasn't expecting. He thought he was so important that he could say anything and people would just smile and take it. EVS tried some passive-aggressive non-apologizing for awhile. When Az wouldn't just roll over and graciously these non-apologies from his majesty, the ComicsGate King, this again enraged EVS' ego. So, because of that, Az became another enemy to destroy. (We see the war being waged until this day.)

And then more recently there is the whole EJ thing, which we know about. The EJ situation is only different in that EJ hasn't just offended his Majesty, he threatens to displace him from his own throne. That's why with EJ it's become a total jihad.

EVS' egotism has only become so much more tiresome and pathetic now, because EVS isn't the king anymore. He can't spin his own failure and inferiority with excuses when it comes to EJ.

I was never an Eric July fan boi, but durring the Covid Lock downs I listened to his show and he was a based negro. Since he became this comic guru I don't listen to his show its unstomachable to me. But I am glad he has been successful, I am glad he is trying something in this dying medium.

Yes. That's exactly what it means.
The thing is, Man of Sex (Self proclaimed "Warcampaign Comedy Writer") used to run the Comicsgate Posting Ls account. It was once the CG Nostradamus account before being rebranded to Comicsgate Posting Ls.
I bring this up because I wondered why that mattered as well, and all I can put together is that Ethan likely knows the identity of whoever is running that account. You and I both know he will deny any such knowledge, just as he's denied having Discord accounts and smurf accounts on Twitter. Until whoever is behind that account gets pissed off, we'll never know for sure.
