I agree with you on the ones that are actually diagnosed as pedophiles, but based on the information I've seen about those arrested for sexually abusing a child, the motive behind the abuse 90% of the time wasn't because they were aroused by children, it was because they got themselves into a situation where they had someone vulnerable that they could enact their power fantasies on, of who the most ideal candidates are children sadly. I think what this would mean is that for this 90%, if you had put them in a hypothetical situation where it was a miniature adult who lacked the same agency as a child does, they would have committed the same act. I could be wrong in regards to women though, and your theory on their nurture gene running a muck seems just as plausible to me.

there are multiple reasons i would imagine. so for starters you would need to know the reason for the pedophilia in the first place not every pedo does it simply because they desire to fuck kids. sometimes its not even about the age and more so about the perceived power dynamic.

I'm not a psychologist or a criminologist or a professional pedo-hunter but I would imagine there are different reasons someone (male or female) is a pedo.
