No way is Becky going to homeschool Hannah. That would be too much work for her.

It's all just more basic Becky shit. I don't know a single new parent who hasn't looked at an incident of school violence and wondered aloud in a moment of parental concern "should I homeschool?" It's par for the course as a parent to worry about your kid. But like you said, she won't follow through. Few do. Most of us do a little digging and find that school violence statistics aren't as scary as the media wants everyone to believe, but there's equal numbers who can't be assed to homeschool and who live for something to screech about.

That poor child, being labeled already. It's not that being neurodivergent is a bad thing, but being labeled so early like this is so bad for a kid. If Becky keeps playing her cards "right" (wrong) she won't have to worry about Hannah because she'll have a fearful, developmentally stunted child who believes she can't do most things and always needs Mommy to make any decisions for her.

I could see her doing "unschooling", which is where the kid stays home and plays video games/scrolls on their phone all day and pops out into the world at 18 with nothing to show but resentment for their parents for it. Seems the prime choice for shitty lazy parents when their kid either has too many behavioral issues and meltdowns at schools, gets bullied too much and has no help to deal with it and the parent is sick of hearing about it, or the parent does not want their child around a bunch of mandated reporters 5 days a week.
