Rights are absolute by definition. By the very concept of the term they cannot be taken away. Anything that can be taken away is not a right, its a privilege, no matter what wording might be involved
If getting a felony means you don't get to vote it should also mean you don't have to pay taxes. No taxation without representation.

A felony historically meant a crime where you forfeit your rights. At bare minimum, the king got to take your property, if not your life, and it was usually both. Especially if you weren't a noble, that's why stealing more than a certain amount or using violent force to do so was an automatic death sentence. Therefore felons being allowed to vote makes zero sense from a legal and ethical perspective, and this was the understanding the Founding Fathers and every other American had until communist insanity infected society (although there were few felons historically since the punishment was usually death). A felon is someone who tainted themselves by their actions, and tainted people should have zero say over the lives of non-tainted people.

It is weird how people are still absolutely mortified by covid, especially since it's endemic now.
I remember when during the height of the hysteria the Good Mask Wearers wore them like a Christian cross, as a way to identify their fellow rightthinkers. If you were one of rhe minority not wearing a mask you were an evil Science Denier, who was not Of The Body.

Now when I some pathetic straggler walking down the street, standing out from everyone wearing a mask, I know they are a foolish cultist. It's a great way to identify someone I have contempt for.

I think anyone expecting him to be Donald Trump 2.0 is going to be somewhat disappointed. While it does seem he has the drive which all of the Trump siblings have except for Tiffany, and the intelligence which Don Jr. and Eric seem to be somewhat lacking in, and Tiffany has none of, but Ivanka inherited, he, out of all of them seems to have inherited his mother's introverted, non-combative and contemplative personality. I just can't see him out there pressing the flesh or having much of the common touch The Donald has with the masses.

That said, he does seem to have a natural charisma, and will probably be extremely effective behind the scenes.
These qualities could be good things. First comes the wrecking ball (the Don), then comes the builder (Barron).

Not that I'm a fan of political dynasties. But in an environment as hostile as Donald Trump finds himself in, turning to family may be one of the few sources of loyal people you can find.

Just beware of third gen syndrome.
Trump has achieved success because he was able to use skills he learned outside of politics. Barron will be learning a streamlined version of those skills, but still have Trump to explain and demonstrate how to use those skills. Barron's children need to be forced to learn things outside of politics first, otherwise it will be yet another corrupt dynasty like the Bidens or the Trudeaus.

lol it's also a bad idea to walk around with ice cream cones in your back pocket. I always wondered why we needed laws like these. There's some pretty fucked up ones, here you could/can beat your wife on the court house steps on Sunday with a rod no thicker then your thumb. Or it mighta been your pinky I cant remember all the details of it but I've heard laws about beating your wife like that are fairly common old laws
I'm pretty sure that one is an urban legend, which generally gets trotted out when someone tries to prove that the phrase "rule of thumb" is an evil misogynist dog whistle.

Why does everyone use this word wrong?
If they were embarrassed, they wouldn’t want to wear the mask.
I think you think it means they are scared.

mor·ti·fy
verb
past tense: mortified; past participle: mortified; adjective: mortified
1. cause (someone) to feel embarrassed, ashamed, or humiliated
2. subdue (the body or its needs and desires) by self-denialor discipline.

The comments in that are having none of it.

Right now it's basically

"Trans are offensive and obscene! promoted by Dems!"

"Dems were the party of slavery!" (Racism bad! Joggers most important thing in the world!)

"You drank the cool aid(sic) and can't define what a woman is!"

And sign up if you want to see more. I'm thinking maybe the comments have been curated to make this journos detractors appear "very smart" Dr. Engineer level even.
