Duolicious - 4chan's dating app.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Seriously. There are guys considering suicide in the Duolicious thread on /soc/ because they don't get a reply in 8 hours. Buddy, some ladies are half-way across the world asleep, or they have jobs and shit to do. You gotta give it a day or two.
That is insane LMAO. Based on what @CoolFool said about her inbox on a new account, i'd expect a week in some cases, like holy shit chill. I'll admit it's been fun, kinda like fishing. You just gotta wait until one of your lines gets a tug. I am very much hoping for some insane convos to bring back here. The milk is endless.

When you don't talk to the opposite sex much, it's easy to overthink and overanalyze simple text transactions. I'll admit to catfishing once before on /soc/ a few years back. and I accepted every person that tried adding me just to see what happens and there were a couple dozen people who would get very mad about not getting any response after an hour or more. I don't have the screenshots but I remember one guy in particularly going on a very long rant about women being whores etc just because I didn't respond to him after 30~ minutes. I wouldn't call myself a master at conversation or "texting" but the fact is a lot of people are just very very very bad at it and this is partially why I think dating apps are a horrible invention that is further stunting people's social skills.

Bro half the "women" I'm encountering on this site are from Brazil, South Korea, or Poland. I may be American, but they certainly are not.
And most of those foreigners want a greencard so they can emigrate their mentally ill asses to burgerland.

I still cringe at the shit I said the the almost BPD like anxiety I'd get when girls wouldn't message me back in a timely manner in my early days of dating. Because women get so much (mostly unwanted) attention online, it leads a lot of guys to think "If she doesn't message me fast enough, that must mean she's entertaining another guy!".

These people also forget that Occam's razor applies to relationships too. She's probably not cheating on your or entertaining other guys on the roster you think she has, she's probably busy with hobbies, sleeping or at work.

Some of the profiles you read and you just know. You are a ticket to them. And in the same breath, there are a lot of lonely NEET women on here too that you look at and go "I may be alone, but not that alone" that are equally as bad news but in the fuck your head up type way. There are very few "normal" well adjusted people on here. The chances of finding marriage material are astonishingly slim. You'd have better luck on tinder.

In case it hasn't already been said pages ago, you need to rethink your life if you're using Duolicious seriously.

If a fat chick really wants to get laid, she can just like go to any local bar, lmao.
I check in expecting funny shit, instead it's the equivalent of kiwis drunkenly confessing their sins and being the saddest person in any room.
I think it's pretty funny in a meta sort of way. :stress:

I have no shame in admitting my curiosity is more than just for the lulz, yes a small part of me wondered if there was a chance I would see someone on the app like me: Someone who is normie enough to know how to not act like a total sped in public, who has a job, a place to live, a lot of normie interests, yet also likes anime and video games without making it their entire personality. Who has an edgy sense of humor and political views that these days are deemed controversial, but who doesn't have political derangement syndrome about them and act like a doomer about it, Etc...

I feel like apps like Bumble, Hinge, and Plenty of Fish are too sterilized and don't really allow you to broadcast views that go outside leftist talking points. In a way, I feel like I don't mesh well with those apps because I admit I have some quirks and views that go against the main demographic on there. Yet, clearly this 4chan app isn't great either; I feel way too sane and normal for it, because almost everyone on this app is way too autistic or mentally insane. So, basically, it's back to avoiding dating apps for me.
I am in a similar position. I feel like I'm too autistic for normal dating apps and too normal for this. I agree that the current set of popular dating apps all feel very sterile and superficial. It doesn't help that they all seem to copy each other pretty closely these days and use the same feature mechanics to cast the broadest net possible for their consumer base. Most of the questions they ask you are very non consequential and unsuitable for actually learning about a person's character. E.g., I don't give a shit about whether a woman wants to go to coffee or dinner for the first date because it doesn't tell me anything about who they are and whether we are actually compatible. I would rather read about something like which deadly sin and heavenly virtue fit her the best in her words because that would actually give a feel for what her values, strengths and weaknesses are.

I think there is probably a kernel of unrealized potential in the idea that spawned this mess of an app. A dating service that could properly facilitate people sharing themselves genuinely and organically with a sense of humor about it would blow the others out of the water. However, it seems very hard to get the balance right and there will always be privacy concerns when it comes to sharing yourself with your real identity. I do think duolicious is an interesting case because I think it's the first proper dating app I've seen that has veered far into oversharing across the board, even if said oversharing is often coated in a veil of irony.
I know there are a lot of speds and stealth lolcows on KF, but tbh after being on here for years, I've come to realize there a ton of very normal people with jobs, careers, hobbies, and families on here too. A lot of us came to KF in the first place because all the other normal places to hang out wouldn't allow us to have different opinions or question the narrative. I'm sure there would be a ton of speds in a KF mixer but I also know there in fact would be a lot of normal people. There would be a hell of a lot more normal people on KF than there is on this Duolicious app, that's for sure. This app is very grim.
How long before Josh monetizes the site with a paid Kiwi dating service?
Its privacy policy is quite Spartan compared to most dating platforms.
Paranoid schizophrenic shit aside, I work in IT and the absolute amounts of fuckery (which is obvious to anyone who ever reads the news) makes me worried of creating an account here.
I haven't looked very far into this aspect yet, but I noticed the site said at the bottom that the license they are using is AGPLv3, which I found interesting and made me feel a bit better. Now, I'm guessing that the trick they are doing is that the app itself is AGPLv3 but the server infrastructure for the actual service is proprietary and/or it's not possible to host your own due to some other artificial limitation that they have created. I forget the details of AGPLv3 and if it protects against those kinds of things, but something definitely seems fishy about this whole thing.
I do not see why everyone is worrying about this tbh. Just use a VPN, use a throwaway e-mail, don't post your photo, real name, or say anything that would get you a visit from the feds.
Guys, you should have some patience if you're waiting on a reply, and also work on your intros. Like all other dating apps, women get swarmed with matches and it takes a while to get through them. If your intro is boring or typical, you're going to end up at the bottom of the pile, doubly so if your profile pics sucks. I have had over 200 intros since I made this account, and my account is pretty bare bones, so imagine how many matches actual decent profiles are getting.
How many people using the service are using pseudonyms/handles? Were a lot of dudes using their real faces? I would be interested in trying this out with semi-anonymous profile info (no face or unique photos not used elsewhere with the face censored, approximated location, etc.), but I'm not sure if it would be worth making one at all if that would penalize me in their algorithm or whatever.
