Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

I do like that his new SYACs lack that ugly shading and lineart. Though he's inconsistent with Dobbear's fingers. As usual, he struggles with drawing hands.

So yeah, these are much better than his Inktober pics. Still, that's not saying much.

Funny. The "mind the amount of fingers" critique was what drove him to go apeshit on me back when I was actually a fan. Nice to see's falling back into the trend of not paying attention to toon hand v. real hand.
 
Clarity isn't even that funny if you are familiar enough with manga reading that you can compensate for what he is going for.

And dobson having friends? sure...

Reaction videos and Steven Universe: undoubtedly two of the most cancerous things on the internet right now, brought together by Andrew Dobson the man who has an unhealthy obsession with lesbians and claims to have PTSD from being sprayed with water.

Honestly there are some things that are just so genuinely awful that they end up being almost beautiful in an abstract way.

Is there any context to why he drew "The Handy Man"?

Maybe he's trying something he could get syndicated in a newspaper?

It just seems so out of character for Dobson to be drawing women in an unflattering light, it's very refreshing to see Dobby draw something that isn't his personal soapbox however.

I thought all three of those comics were funny and not his typical rude, passive aggressive strawman nonsense. Is something wrong here? Am I just dumb or is there a faint glimmer of hope here? If he made more comics like these three he could have a bit of a future going, methinks. Credit where credit is due.

The "Clarity" one is clever, I've seen plenty of amateurs make that mistake not taking into account the placement and flow of speech balloons. So I'll give him that one, unfortunately he still has this thing where he is unable to keep his fingers consistent, on one strip his bear has four fingers and in the next has five. At this point such design choices should be set in stone.

I'd say it's an error and Dobson just decided to leave it be because laziness. Mostly because the bear is four-fingered in most of his other pictures anyway.

That aside, I found myself actually thinking Dobson didn't do too bad a job here. Sure the SU stuff is generic as fuck, but I chalk it up as it being within the context (Plus the fact the characters are more on model than past attempts is a step in the right direction). The comics... Eh, they weren't too cringeworthy (design error aside). And I actually got a laugh out of the Handyman comic.

I swear to the Unconquered Sun, this fucker's gonna make me blow a gasket. People who give a shit about a hobby desire to get better at it, and if that hobby turns into a passion that sparks a career, people REALLY want to get good at it. I love tech, that's why I'm taking classes to learn about computers, programming, all kinds of shit.

How much of a limp wristed little faggot is Dobson that he doesn't care about improving?
