Foreword
The purpose of this document is to archive and explain as many of the
issues surrounding Kiwi Farms and its current owner, Joshua “Null” Moon
as is publicly known. Every statement where necessary has been cited to a
primary source, or as close to one if not possible. The following, while
based on collected evidence, are allegations. The author has made effort to
avoid assumptions and logical leaps, even if the conclusions seem obvious.
All further statements are cited to a primary source where possible, or a
secondary source where necessary. Any conclusions readers may come
away with and express, not stated by the author do not represent the views

Known aliases: null, moon, Iban, IbanX, IbanZ, ichverbot, CityRPG, jawsh,

Date of birth: 19th December 1992
J
Joshua Conner Moon aka Null is the admin, owner, and operator of Kiwi
Farms.
He has an extensive online history, starting on the forums for
the game Blockland, where he gained infamy on the forum for various
things including misogyny, doxing, stalking, harassment, threats of rape
and murder towards female and male users, threats of physical violence,
and expressed and shared seemingly pedophilic desires. He had a
particular obsession with a user by the name of Stocking, who he would
repeatedly harass, and threaten to dox, rape, and murder, and who would
therefore constantly leak messages from him onto the forums. Leading up
to a road trip he was having he would keep pestering her for her address
and when she continued to decline, made these threats.1
After this he obtained a remote job with an Australian internet
business which he maintained for four years until allegedly being fired for a
lack of productivity 2 (although Moon maintains that he quit based on
boredom he’d accrued while becoming more focused on what would
become Kiwi Farms 3). According to Encyclopedia Dramatica, the firm
called his coding skills “adequate” and noted that he could not interact with
customers.2 According to Moon’s LinkedIn profile, he worked for Astute
People Solutions, specifically serving as a developer for their product
Astute Payroll.4
In 2012, Moon began helping host the CWCki Forums, a forum
dedicated to stalking, harassing, and trolling well known “lolcow” Christine
Weston Chandler AKA Chris-Chan; the forums had twice been kicked off
their webhosts due to the site hosting objectional content prior to Moon’s
contact. Around 2014 Moon began expressing more administrative control
over the site and assumed full ownership of the site after the previous site
owner handed it over in 2015. Since gaining full control he has remained
the sole operator of the site, not trusting other admins with back access
and early into his tenure removing notable admins. 3 Also in 2015, the site
rebranded to Kiwi Farms, as the site
became more sympathetic towards Chris-Chan and shifted towards more
general targets.5
In 2015 Moon was hired by the creator of 8chan and fled to the
Philippines for 9 months to code a massive overhaul of the site, known as
“Infinity Next”.6 8chan is an offshoot of 4chan, containing significantly less
regulated discussion and hosted in the Philippines to avoid legal
repercussions. 8chan came under scrutiny and was eventually delisted off
google for hosting and being where the Christchurch shooter initially posted
his manifesto and a link to the livestream of the massacre.
Moon’s overhaul did not work and following a second failed
attempt to merge it into the main site some time in 2015 (where he also
accidentally enabled debugging for the entire site)7 he fled to America, with
both the creator of the site and its current owner mad at him*. Moon burned
through $12,000USD donated to him by the 8chan admin and fundraised
by the userbase to do the upgrades, effectively conning them.8 9 The site’s
at-the-time owner, Fredrick Brennan, would later call Infinity Next a
mistake.9
As part of testing for Infinity Next, Moon would launch a sister
site to 8chan to test out the update as it was worked on – 16chan. It hosted
“Child Fetishism” content, so long as it was written or drawn.52 The image
board had a board called /phile/ which was where this content was found
and was a gathering hub for pedophiles to fantasize and write about their
disturbing desires. The site closed in 2016 due to lack of interest.10
Aside from a stint in Australia during his employment there after
turning 21 in 2014,12 and his subsequent 9 months in the Philippines from
sometime around 2015 to 2016 developing Infinity Next, and apparently
living in Ukraine and parts of the EU for some time earlier in his life,14
everything Moon has done has been on American soil unless stated
otherwise.
Moon sometime around 2016 would register the company
“Lolcow, LLC”, which is registered under his own home address. Under this
company he operates Kiwi Farms, along with several other services such
as Lolcow Email, which he specifically situated in the Netherlands to avoid
dealing with local privacy laws and uses as his own personal email server.8
According to Florida state records, the
company has been legally inactive since September 2017, although Moon
continues to list the name on his sites.11
Blockland
Joshua’s first actively recorded presence online is on the site Blockland
under the name “Iban”, where he gained a significant amount of infamy and
was constantly banned. His real name was known on the site, as he had
entrusted it to Stocking, who presumably leaked it onto the forums as she
did much of their conversations. He is infamous enough to have an entire
121-page thread dedicated to his antics on the site, where much of his
objectively awful behaviour there is archived. It is worth noting that the
thread was made very soon after his 19th birthday, in January 2012,
finishing up some time in February; the thread was made in response to
him rebranding as “CityRPG” after a permanent ban to an old account of
his.1
Other than the aforementioned misogyny, stalking, threats of rape
and murder, threats of physical violence and expression of pedophilic
desires; Moon would message members his wishes to kill and rape as
many people as possible before dying via a SWAT team (including mention
of his own family members, such as his grandparents) and vent his
apparent depression. He would also ask for people who added him back on
sites like Steam to give him their address, and if denied (or even when
obliged) threatened to find them and bring harm to both them and their
family. He would also add people he felt wronged him (such as Stocking for
not returning his affection and “stalking” him) to the auto-blocklist script he
had written for the forum.1 2 12
As the site’s mega-thread on him gained much attention both in
community and out, Moon would switch focus elsewhere; he had also just
gotten a job working remotely for an Australian internet business after
turning 18.13
Taking over the CWCki Forums
Moon began posting to the CWCki Forums under the name Null sometime
in late 2012 at age 19, around the same time he shifted from the Blockland
forums. One of his earliest posts there called the userbase at the time “the
most mature and civil group of people that isn't outright banal” and stated
that the forum provided him with “a constant source of intellectual
amusement”. He offered hosting to
the site as it was constantly being reported to its hosts for the content it had
housed, and additionally offered to help moderate the site with founder
Champthom. His initial set up of forum administration emails being sent to
his own email at the time would lead to him being doxed once again at
some point in late 2013.3
By 2014 Moon had taken ownership of the forum, with admins either
being removed from the site by Moon due to “instability” or leaving their
positions due to interest in discussing Chris-Chan falling. A notable
example of this was the removal of the admin Glaive, which upset many
users from the forum’s formative days as they saw it as Moon establishing
himself as a singular power and the death of the original intent of the
CWCki Forums.3 In 2015, Champthom retired from administrating the site,
leaving Moon with sole control 5 – something he has maintained since.
Candice Lynn Potter
Candice Lynn Potter is Moon’s mother and has allegedly served at points
as the funding source for Kiwi Farms. She has let Moon live in her
basement for years while running the site, allowing him to live for less than
$300 a month;17 she has also had accounts and posted on the forum in the
past (albeit with a large slew of harassment).18 27 Potter has been arrested
on several occasions and was charged with resisting arrest in 2013.19
Potter appears to be a sore spot for Moon and targeting her is one of
the few things able to get a reaction out of him. When Potter - formerly a
realtor for Keller Williams Realty - was fired from her job in 2017 due to her
place of work being shown Kiwi Farms,27 Moon shut down the forums for
three weeks (from January 20th until February 10th of that year), stating that
“a line had been crossed” and that his family was being attacked.20 21 When
this happened once again later on, it became one of the few times Moon
conformed to the demands of a site “lolcow”, removing all threads
dedicated to the person* as it had been a group in connection to them that
had informed Potter’s job in the first place.20
Alleged Pedophilia
While Moon’s Kiwi Farms and Moon himself often claim to be working
against pedophiles, Moon has consistently expressed and been caught
discussing seemingly
pedophilic desires. While most of these occurred during his tenure as Iban
on Blockland, they have also been recorded happening during his work on
8chan; his own 16chan notably contained the previously mentioned /phile/
board, a gathering place for pedophiles to talk and illustrate their
fantasies.10
From Blockland, Moon’s acts included stating that he was into
“hurtcore CP” because normal child porn did not do it for him, and that him
jerking off to neko shota wasn’t furry because it was a “half-cat half-boy”.
When asked if he watched homosexual child porn, Moon responded that
when he was 14 he thought he was gay and therefore looked at hentai
depicting males his age. In a thread of real-life photos, Moon responded to
a photo of an extremely young-looking user stating that he looked
“absolutely yummy” and said that he might rape him before asking for his
age.1 2
On 8chan and 16chan, Moon would often post similarly pedophilic
statements on relevant threads under his Null username, something he
discontinued when members on Kiwi Farms began calling this out. On
16chan, he also hosted the /phile/ board, a board dedicated to
self-declared pedophiles writing and illustrating their desires; the site’s rules
overall also explicitly stated “Child Fetishism” content was allowed, so long
as it was written or illustrated.2 10 52
For a while, Moon was developing a software known as “Exodus”,
which he planned to use to filter out child porn from Kiwi Farms. Moon
would store the initial database on his own servers, and while the software
promised to “reliably memorize obscene material without storing it”, it is
unknown how Moon planned to obtain and enter the obscene material into
the system in the first place. The project was discontinued some point in
the late 2010s.16
While at the very least earlier instances on Blockland could be simply
explained as Moon’s long-recorded dark humour (Moon himself has
dismissed the mega-thread exposing these as “mudslinging” between
himself and Stocking who he would later make up with,12 although he has
never explained what he means by mudslinging), the significant number of
times this has occurred is concerning to say the least. In an interview
where the topic of lolicon was brought up, Moon (after mentioning “what it
has done to [him] is devastating”) stated that he has tried to argue in terms
of the law that there are no victims in the production of loli, but that he also
believed all people who jerked off to lolicon were pedophiles from prior
experience moderating boards; Moon would contradict himself on the first
point in the same interview, stating that not all loli was animated and that he
knew of artists who had been arrested for tracing real child porn.22 In
addition, when the topic is brought up on Kiwi Farms in relation to Moon, he
has been recorded banning users in response.2 20
Prejudice
Moon has on many occasions given outspokenly racist and sexist views. A
non-exhaustive list of examples not already listed:
- Calling Obama the [N slur]-in-chief 23
- Believing feminism is ruining Western culture 26
- Believing in white genocide/the great replacement theory 24 25
- Generally being antisemitic (despite his name being Jewish in
origin) 30
- Posting wishes of all Muslims and refugees being killed 28 29
Many defend Moon’s more outrageous statements as ironic in nature,
especially on the forums. Moon would also set up GamerGate.us during the
height of the GamerGate saga, a website designed to let users set up
anonymous emails with the main purpose of enabling them to anonymously
harass the female developers at the center of the it,31 with an admin
bragging that he had sent 70 emails to Zoe Quinn alone.32
Miscellaneous
- Moon’s first actively recorded and known presence online is on the
site Blockland as a teenager, although he admits on his personal site to
coding GeoCities sites in HTML as early as age 9.13
- At some point early in Moon’s life, his house burned down due to
his mother’s boyfriend committing arson, 6 which arguably caused his turn
to sympathy for Chris-Chan when her house burned down in 2014.
- Moon was registered to the Florida Democratic Party up until
Donald Trump was selected as the Republican Party’s nominee in 2016.
- Mad at the Internet is a livestream regularly hosted by Moon
summarising recent happenings on the forum.33 According to Moon, the
show had upwards of 1200 watching just the livestreams in 2020.34
- Prior to working at Astute, Moon had a job as a fast-food
employee.15
- Moon has attempted to discredit most of the Encyclopedia
Dramatica page and the Blockland forum it cites most of its info from as
mudslinging between two teenagers (him and Stocking) at the time,
although he has never debated the actual legitimacy of the messages.12
- During his time in Australia, Moon lived with a flatmate and was
terrified of opening unmarked mail as he thought it may have contained
anthrax.35
Kiwi Farms
Kiwi Farms, originally christened the CWCki Forums (pronounced
“quickie”), is a site dedicated to documenting and discussing “lolcows”, a
group of people the site deems to be “milkable for laughs”. Birthed in 2012
out of necessity due to 4chan boards getting bored of discussing
Chris-Chan and actively discouraging it due her being “milked dry”, the site
was originally wholly focused on discussing her and related happenings.
However, the website would widen in scope due to increasing interest in
other lolcows, rebranding as Kiwi Farms in 2015.5 This shift in targets also
resulted in a shift in target audience, with Moon noting in a retrospective
that most if not all users from the CWCki Forums era of the site had left due
to disagreements with Moon’s moderating style, perceiving him to be
establishing himself as a dictator-like figure on the site as he booted
popular admins; he also noted disagreements with the widening in focus
from Chris-Chan.3
There are no specific criteria to what constitutes a lolcow - in earlier
years, the site mainly targeted people who were mentally ill, fat and/or
queer, while the modern userbase will often consider anyone who is the
center of an internet happening a lolcow, with particular focus on internet
personalities, political commentators and transgender people (who the site
perceives most to be groomers and will often use the derogatory slang
“troon” in reference to). Once someone is declared a lolcow (or in some
cases, pre-empting someone they believe will become a lolcow) a thread
following them is created, with some spanning over hundreds of pages;
popular enough lolcows on the site are given entire subsections of the
forum, such as Jessica Yaniv and DarkSydePhil (lolcows of this scale that
the site can no longer wring content out of will then have their subsections
archived at a sub-sub-board known as “Spergatory”, which derives its
name from a slur for Asperger’s). Targeted lolcows often become the victim
of doxing; the public hosting of doxes in Kiwi Farms threads often lead to
individual actors to harass and stalk the person in real life. Moon states that
it is not his job to prevent this.36
The site in its decade of existence has been linked to at least three
suicides, nine lawsuits,37 39 countless harassment claims and threats, and
been banned from Paypal, Google AdSense, RedBubble,38 and in New
Zealand alongside temporarily in Australia.40 41 Various articles have been
written on the site, all with some degree of negative coverage, and various
individuals and groups over the
years have tried to take down the site but failed. Its survival has mainly
hinged on Communications Act 47 U.S.C. § 230, better known as Section
230; current Kiwi Farms owner Joshua Moon has promised to take the
entire site down if the section is revoked, which it nearly was in 2020.44
With it intact, attempts to take down the site have failed as they have aimed
for Moon or the site itself, and as the site’s rules technically discourage
harassment and posting illegal content, the section’s provisions of a site
owner not being responsible for the individual members’ content protect
him. Moon acknowledges this in the site’s “Removing Content” and “How is
this site legal?” pages, writing that a website is unable to stalk, harass and
defame; Moon states that the only requests to remove content he
cooperates with are US legal requests, such as the DMCA, and by the
subjects of threads that meet extremely specific criteria*. He also points out
here that the act of doxing and hosting doxes, of which the site is known
for, is not illegal (and that information about a person is often easily and
publicly accessible on the internet). The only publicly known successful
lawsuit in relation to Kiwi Farms was when one of the admins was sued
instead for what they had posted on Encyclopedia Dramatica about the
subject of a lolcow thread.39
CWCki and Forums
The CWCki is a wiki hosted at Sonichu.com dedicated to the titular
Christine Western Chandler, aka Chris-Chan. It was created in response to
users on Encyclopedia Dramatica complaining that the Chris-Chan page
set up on that site had become too large, which had in turn been set up to
document her due to constant threads being made about her on 4chan. If
you’re researching Kiwi Farms, you’re probably already aware of this, and
this is about the extent you’ll need to care about it.
The CWCki Forums were founded by Champthom, an admin for the
CWCki, in 2012 for users of the CWCki to have a place to discuss
Chris-Chan without dealing with complaints on 4chan’s /cow/ (formerly
/cwc/) board of Chris having become a dry lolcow.5 The site was booted off
of its first two hosts for violating their TOS before Joshua Moon stepped in,
offering to help host and admin the site.3 As Champthom’s original plan was
to let “locals” take over running the forum, and he quickly found himself
consumed running it, he would allow Moon
to begin taking over the forum. Champthom retired in 2015, at which point
Moon assumed complete control over the site, which had been rebranded
to Kiwi Farm that same year after a move away from exclusively discussing
Chris-Chan and a turn towards sympathy for her after the passing of her
father and the burning down of her house.3 5 The name Kiwi Farms was
chosen based on a common mispronunciation of the original site name
(CWCki is pronounced “Quickie”).43 46
Chris-Chan
Christine Western Chandler, better known as CWC or Chris-Chan, is the
“lolcow” that served to both popularise the concept of lolcows and as the
genesis of both the CWCki and what would become Kiwi Farms. Her
exploits online are well documented, as is her relationships with trolls.
Many of them have collected at Kiwi Farms, although in the years since
most regulars have postulated that they were not a part of the trolling. The
site has been noted as keeping the spotlight on Chris during a period in
which she received little trolling and almost fell into complete irrelevancy
online.
Interactions between the forum and Chris became more sympathetic
as Chris’s life fell apart during the 2010s, between the death of her father
and the burning down of her house with most of her possessions inside.
This led Moon and many forum members to begin trying to help Chris out
with finances and having a stable living situation, often funding physical
runs of her “Sonichu” comic and purchasing handcrafted merchandise from
her.
During 2018, a group of 4chan /pol/ users known as the “Idea Guys”,
inspired by the continuous spotlight on Chris, began to manipulate her with
various tactics take advantage of her own mental illnesses for their
entertainment. The group introduced many Nazi and fascist symbols to
Chris’s Sonichu lore and convinced her of a great “Dimensional Merge”
occurring that would combine the real world with her fictional one, among
other things. Moon and several other Kiwi Farms admins formed a group
known as the “Guard Dogs” in response, doxing and threatening every
member involved to back down. Despite their best efforts, this “saga”
permanently altered Chris’s world view, and the Guard Dogs would have to
deal with this detached-from-reality Chris for the foreseeable future; due to
this, Moon would declare Chris a “dead cow”.55 During
this time, Moon began helping personally manage Chris’s financials for her,
with Chris giving Moon the logins for various banking accounts of hers.
In 2021, a leaked phone call of Chris would serve to confirm that she
was taking advantage of her elderly mother for incestuous sex, something
she had been manipulated into admitting by a woman by the name of
Isabella Loretta Janke. Janke had gotten into Chris the year prior through a
series documenting her by the YouTuber Geno Samuel, a series which
compiles information mainly pulled from the CWCki and Kiwi Farms
(something the forums’ original founder pointed out commenting on how
the forums had gained attention)56; she worked in tandem with several
other Kiwi Farms members to manipulate Chris to her own advantage and
participated on the site herself at one point. The phone call had been
recorded by Janke as a part of her plan to blackmail Chris into killing
herself, something caught onto by an associate who shared the call to
prevent this. Chris would quickly be arrested after the call made waves
around the internet and has since been imprisoned in several jails as she
awaits trial. Moon would cut contact shortly before this, despite even after
the incident trying to place Chris into a position where she would have
shelter; Moon determined Chris to be a lost cause after she revealed she’d
been stealing from her mother’s finances.
While in jail, Chris has been written to by several people on the
forums to figure out where she was at mentally, with her response letters
being shared to the site. However, this is now discouraged, as Chris
revealed she is keeping a list of every person who sends a letter and the
address that they sent the letter from.
New Zealand government
In 2019, the Christchurch shooting happened. The video archive of the
livestream and text archive of the shooter’s manifesto were spread around
online, something New Zealand authorities tried to stamp out as much as
possible. This would lead to 8chan getting booted off its host at the time,
but another site that decided to host the material and not cooperate with
authorities was KiwiFarms. In response to NZ Police sending a request for
user data to help identify those posting the video on the site, Moon gave a
long-winded, profanity-laden rant about how their laws didn’t apply to him
and that the country was irrelevant.42 This led to the New Zealand
government blocking the entire site from the country, a block it has
maintained since.40
Samuel Collingwood Smith
Known aliases: Matthew Hopkins, Vordrak
Samuel Collingwood Smith is a former elected UK council member and
pro-GamerGate citizen who found himself at war with Kiwi Farms and in the
process gained a personal vendetta against Joshua Moon. While most of
his actual actions are irrelevant, amounting to a constant petty back and
forth between Kiwi Farms and his (at the time) proxies Vordrak and
Matthew Hopkins News; Smith is known for successfully suing a Kiwi
Farms admin for £10,000 (which was not awarded as their legal details
could not be found),39 constantly getting the site taken off its hosts,45 47 and
getting the forum taken down for three weeks after getting Moon’s mother
fired from her job and threatening his wider family (which Moon would later
call extortion).20 21 He is also the owner of several anti-Kiwi Farms and
-Moon sites, such as kiwifarmswiki.com and joshuaconnermoon.com (a
redirect to kiwifarmswiki’s page on Moon).53 Smith’s unhealthy obsession
with Moon and Kiwi Farms has helped archive and document many
important pieces of information and some happenings as well.
Most of Smith’s work following Kiwi Farms was published to his site
Matthew Hopkins News, and while he serves as an extremely unreliable
narrator, constantly exaggerating claims of pedophilia hosted on the site
and Moon’s own pedophilic expression, on top of claims of having “heard”
things without evidence*; he will often link back directly to sources where
he has taken the information from.
In response to Smith’s continuous war with Kiwi Farms, and his
threats towards Moon’s family, Moon would set up
samuelcollingwoodsmith.exposed, a site dedicated to exposing how Smith
had harassed him over the course of months. The site broke some time
after 2020, its last known update.
Legal issues
At various points in its life, Kiwi Farms members and its owner Joshua
Moon have run afoul of authorities and forced into courts. However, each
time they have survived, as most suits were filed by people with
misunderstandings of how the law works, and most times the protections of
Section 230 were invoked as they tried to sue Moon or his companies as
an entity for posts on his site.
- Melinda Leigh Scott
Scott has attempted to sue various Kiwi Farms entities six times as of the
writing of this document. Scott v. Lolcow LLC (2017) was thrown out without
trial, Scott v. Wise County Commonwealths (2017) was an immediate
follow-up case where she also sued the county as she was unhappy with
the previous lawsuit’s outcome (thrown out the day it was received), Scott
v. Moon (2017) aimed to sue Moon as a person and was thrown out at the
first hearing, Scott v. Carlson, et al. (201

was thrown out within days of
filing due to being legally insufficient, Scott v. Moon, et al. (2019) had a
similar result, and Scott v. Wise County Department of Social Services et
al. (2021) was thrown out as neither party was liable for what she was
suing for. The first lawsuit was filed in response to a stalker creating a
thread on her on Kiwi Farms, the next four were filed as a mix of responses
to each prior lawsuit being thrown out and people covering said lawsuits,
and the sixth was filed due to an anonymous user from the forum making a
call on her to child protective services.37
- Russell G. Greer
Greer filed Greer v. Moon in 2020, over what he perceived to be copyright
infringement, electronic communications harassment, defamation by Kiwi
Farms, and defamation by Moon himself. Notably, Greer alleged Moon
refused to enter a plea deal to avoid a mental health evaluation, although
the motivation for this was most likely the fact he knew he would win the
suit. While the court saw much sympathy for Greer’s plight, recognising that
the site had made his life miserable; Section 230 meant that Moon was not
liable for any of it - not that the defamation had originated from the users of
Kiwi Farms anyways - and his claim specifically against Moon was frivolous
as he claimed Moon was liable for defamation as he “surely saw” the
defamatory claims posted. The case was dismissed in 2021.48
- Patrick Sean Tomlinson
Tomlinson is a sci-fi author who in 2021 filed a suit against 60 unknown
different users of Kiwi Farms, after subpoenaing CloudFlare for the thread
on him.49 The thread was only 4 pages long at the time, but contained his
dox, something he claimed was used against him by every user in the
thread to harass him over phone; the thread has inflated to nearly 800
pages since. The suit specifically cited defamation, invasion of privacy,
intentional infliction of emotional stress, tortious
interference, and civil conspiracy as complaints against the John Does.50
One of the John Does, who operated the site OnA Forums, would
counter-sue as the suit violated their First Amendment rights. Tomlinson
was forced to pay over $23,000 to that user and voluntarily dismissed his
other lawsuit after paying over $100,000 in legal fees towards it.50 54
The only successful lawsuit in relation to Kiwi Farms is the previously
mentioned Samuel Smith’s successful lawsuit against the admin Dynastia
for £10,000 over comments made on Encyclopedia Dramatica, however,
the money was not awarded as he was unable to find their personal
information.39
On site, the forum has a subforum entirely dedicated to what the site
describes as “take-down notices and frivolous legal threats” known as
“Take that off the god damn internet!”. Moon only complies with legal
requests and takedowns from his domestic United States, leading to Kiwi
Farms being blocked in New Zealand after not complying to one in the
aftermath of the Christchurch shooting.40
Alleged Pedophilia (again) and threatening minors
While Moon himself already has swathes of evidence around this topic, his
Kiwi Farms also has an issue with pedophilic content. Of the many times
the site has been forced to moves webhosts, at least one, Gandi.net,
specifically cites that there was “Pedophilia content” found hosted on their
servers after an independent review taken due a complaint received from
Samuel Collingwood Smith.47 Despite Moon’s protests over email that he
was unaware of any content and requesting that the host link him to the
content, he would later state in an interview that he had to ban loli porn
from the site as users posting lolicon would consistently also post child
porn on the main boards.22
A poll was held on the website early in its lifespan by an admin,
Dynastia, to determine whether it was okay for users to dox minors. The
yes vote won at the time*,51 and the forums have since archived photos of
and doxed people as young as 5 – archiving images of and targeting
left-leaning academic Marian Aanerud’s 5-year-old son^.53
During the height of the GamerGate saga, Moon would set up
GamerGate.us. It was an anonymous email service enabling people on and
off the
forum to register emails to spam the people at the center of the saga with.31
Dynastia would brag about sending 70 emails to Zoe Quinn alone using the
service.32 However, people would end up threatening elementary schools in
Moon’s area with emails under the domain, which led to him getting
investigated by local police. He was let off soon after but would quickly shut
down the site and email server, alleging the threats came from users on
Tor; Moon has also blamed Samuel Collingwood Smith as the perpetrator.17
Suicides
Kiwi Farms has had three suicides publicly linked to the site. Kiwi Farms
has accepted responsibility for zero of these suicides and has often
claimed to have prolonged the lives of their victims instead. Feeling guilt for
posting on threads relevant to the suicides is discouraged, and users found
publicly considering that they may have contributed to the act are often
called “A-Logs”, a term born from an extremely eccentric user of the same
name.58
- Julie Terryberry
Julie Terryberry was a 19-year-old with diagnosed Autism and ADHD. She
was discovered by Kiwi Farms at the age of 18 in early 2016 and was a
clear victim of grooming; being in a long-term, visibly abusive relationship
with a 28-year-old. She also lived in a run-down shed, was clearly already
suicidal, and other than Facebook and OKCupid rants, appears to have
been entirely self-contained away from the usual internet forums that Kiwi
Farms would lurk for lolcows.59 Instead of trying to help her out of her
situation, the forum instead chose to relentlessly troll her for a year, leading
up to her suicide at the end of 2016 after turning 19. When faced with this
information, Moon posted a long rant about how no one on the site was
personally responsible, that their constant trolling probably kept her alive
for longer than she would’ve been, that suicide was selfish, and that guilt
felt for the victim was “embarrassing” and a selfish act of
“self-aggrandizement”.60
- Chloe Sagal
Chloe Sagal was an indie game developer who was unfortunately best well
known for running an Indiegogo campaign in 2013 that claimed to be for
metal poisoning but was actually for an unspecified gender-related surgery,
believed to be Sexual Reassignment Surgery (SRS).61 Due to this, many
forum members actually feel her suicide in 2018 by self-immolation was
deserved, and that because of the hatred of her by larger movements such
as GamerGate, Kiwi Farms played no part in it.62 It should be noted that the
thread on her death is no longer accessible by public users and that the
evidence tying Kiwi Farms specifically is much flimsier than the other two
cases.
- David Kirk Ginder
David Ginder, better known as “byuu” or “near”, was a non-binary software
developer who had a thread on the forums. While the thread was short at
the time, Ginder found it distressing enough that in June of 2021 they
offered $120,000USD to Moon via email for it to be taken down, something
Moon refused to do. Soon after, their suicide was reported on Twitter, and
confirmed by several news outlets.63 Due to the death not being listed in
public US records, many Kiwi Farms users believe the death to be
fabricated, while those who do agree it happened found the thread too
irrelevant in their eyes to be responsible for the suicide;64 65 Moon
subscribes to the former and claims Ginder was attempting to extort him by
offering cash for taking down the thread.64 The widespread reporting of the
suicide led their domain registrar, DreamHost, to finally drop the site,
forcing them to shift to CloudFlare.65

Words from the author
What to avoid
- DOXING IS NOT THE ONLY ISSUE. I cannot stress this enough.
Doxing is not the main problem here – it is a problem, but even if the site
wasn’t able to host doxes it’d find a way around it by hosting them
elsewhere. It also does not get to the root cause of what KiwiFarms is, a
forum for stalking and harassment. Doxing is one of the tools they use – a
bad one at that – but its just one facet.
- DO NOT CONTACT KIWIFARMS MEMBERS. There is nothing to
be gained by engaging with KiwiFarms members. You will only put yourself
in danger. If you are a member of the media, I know it’s journalistic common
courtesy to give people a heads-up for a comment, but Moon is actively
antagonistic towards the media. If you were to contact him, he would not
provide you with anything of substance, and would most likely just either
respond with a dog whistle or some hidden troll. This goes for all Farms
members, even those who you may find have resigned themselves from
the ways of the site; don’t even bother bringing them in for interviews, as
they will probably just give the heads up to Moon.
What to expect (if you write about them)
- If you attach your name to an article about them, you will probably
get doxed. It is frankly a given when it comes to anyone targeting the
Farms – they take pride in relentlessly publicly and privately harassing
people attempting to bring them down a peg. If you are writing an article
about them, the best you can do is release the article as written by a
publication rather than an individual; if you are going to attach your name to
an article despite this, wipe any public facing information that may be used
to dox you. United States citizens particularly are vulnerable – you are
simply a google search away.
o As a subpoint of this, if you have family that are particularly
vulnerable or young, look into outs for them, such as a
temporary place away from home to live. Forum members
have shown in the past they enjoy doxing collateral on top of
their targets and have voted in the past that children aren’t
off-limits.
Notes
This section is stuff I couldn’t figure out where to fit in the rest of the
document.
- Some examples of Moon raging publicly. While this contributes
nothing of substance to the document, it does show that he’s a loose
cannon.
- Moon wrote an entire thread on why he wanted to kill his mom on
the Blockland forums in 2007. It gives an idea of his backstory, as do these:
3 6
- It might be worth combing through these three interviews with Moon
on Rekieta Law, a YouTube channel run by a lawyer who owns a company
of the same name. Moon is a regular guest on the show and the two
appear to be good friends, but the show often goes for several hours per
video, so I couldn’t find myself (or anyone else) willing to scroll through and
make notes.
- The previously mentioned Spergatory sub-sub-board is a place
where you can find threads Moon has archived due to their low quality or
rule breaking, and it is here you can often find examples of site in-fighting.
- Moon appears to hide threads from public view if they can be
considered controversial, such as those on Trump’s victory and celebrating
Chloe Sagal’s death
- I can’t really objectively show this, but its pretty obvious every other
web forum community has some sort of disdain for Kiwi Farms (you can
blatantly see this in the Encyclopedia Dramatica article which is written in
an absurdly vindictive tone for the site), and Moon is hated even on his own
forum.
