Are we sure Phil actually has a business degree? Because he pretty much said right here. "I don't care if I'm not entertaining." And that's the last thing a youtuber should be saying if this really is his business.

He is so clueless about why people watch LPers. Maybe if he actually watched someone like Jontron or Vanoss... naw, that would take too long. Have to watch more WWE!

I think phil's ego is preventing him from making his content better. To be entertaining phil needs to have a mix of crude jokes and fails. Both of these things have pretty much been eliminated in 2016. He hardly even makes jokes anymore and uses guides which prevents fails and salt. I don't even know why he doesn't make jokes anymore, maybe he is burned out/bored.

In my opinion it isn't ego, but laziness. Better content usually involves more effort.

Phil is not that stupid but he is lazy! Though he acts stupid at times and does makes terrible business decisions. Buying that PS VR in his current situation I am not sure if that is so smart. He smart enough to bilk his remaining supporters for money. He could become a salesmen, he cares about nobody and knows how to sell crap.

Note just how his begathon has raised him quite a bit of a jump in the last 2 days. Though when it comes to staying power things are crashing down.
He had trouble getting to $1250 a month, always having a "sudden patron" give enough to make it.
Now he has lowered it to $1025 and well, he had to beg for it.

The ride is slowing down and most of the fun is out of it. I have to agree that he is getting so boring. He is dwindling down, I give him 2017, but wow, can't see him go much further.

Yes he lies, who knows precisely what his financial situation is. But still things don't add up!

Nah, it's his lazyness. What he actually needs is to improve both his commentary and his gameplay, and the chances of that happening are slim to none since he needs to put effort into it.
BTW, disagree with the fails part: even on playthroughs where he's using a guide (like Banjo or DR1) he still fails. He also bitches a lot, of course, perhaps he does fail less, but the stupidity and the rage are still present. In fact, I would go so far as to say, with the large amount of ragequits (not the viewquits, the rage ones) he has raged a lot this year. I would hardly say there isn't any salt anymore.
I mean, motherfucker gets paid to play Persona 3 FES, plays it on Easy, bitches every fucking time he misses (and keeping in mind he missed over 200 times, that's a lot of salt) bitches when he presses square by accident (it makes you wait out a turn) and ended up ragequitting the game at the final boss.

Been asking the same for a long time.
If you dont keep people interested, then they will of course leave and he will get low views, but somehow he claim that is not important, but at the same time he complain about not enough views and wants his fans to spread the word so he get more views, the man is sure a hypocrite.
Popularity just a bonus? Then why constantly bring up 2008-10 and how many views and fans you had?

After watching his FPS games im unsure if he would hit.

I won't speculate on when DSP is giving up his streaming, since it looked close that he would fail before and he didn't, but can't deny that it looks harder and harder for him to continue on. This time he just barely made his Patreon goal despite the guilt tripping and begging, wonder when it will stop working.

You can ask James Vance that. Poor bastard tried to kill himself along with his buddy Raymond Belknap about 30 years ago by blowing their heads off with a shotgun.

Raymond succeeded. James didn't. His reason was the barrel was slick with Raymond's blood so it kinda slipped at the last moment and just blew the front of his face off. He died of a drug overdose years later but then when you look like this:

@MBrando's autistic twin I dont know any YTer that gets millions of views on their videos and $10 000+ on Patreon at the same time, but perhaps he know something we dont?

Edit: I found two YTers who gets millions of views and makes 10 000+ on Patreon, but they dont play games, CGP Grey and Kurzgesagt creates informative animated videos. There are a few that makes 10 000+ and gets 100 000+ views, but a several are getting less than 50 000 viewes.

There is also Home Free and Pentatonix, but i feelt it wrong to put two cappella groups in there, their YT videos are more secondary than their primary work.

@RIP_SANITY Unsure if he will, don't know how deep into the FGC he was, but feels like he was more into that than he is in the YTC, he isn't really a core member of the YTC, but then he is known to make wild claims about anything. But someone else comes to mind rather then Snowden.
