Makeup! Clothes! "Girly stuff" thread

I absolutely loathe micellar water and refuse to recommend it. I suppose ymmv but it like, clings to my skin but doesn't actually clean it well. Also they all tend to be obnoxiously scented and the scent lingers for days no matter how much you rewash yoir face.

I only wash my face with oil when I wash it (I only wash it when I have worn makeup or am generally nasty. I rinse with water only otherwise)

I've used it before and it definitely works, but it' a makeup remover. You still need to wash your face after. Unless you wear such heavy makeup that you need to take most of it off first and then wash the rest off, you probably don't need it.

None I hope:cryblood:i don’t know what they would get off to anyway, our lipstick and eyeshadow reviews? Conversations about cologne? ….toner recommendations?
they get off to women putting on makeup

What, for beauty advice? They never bother with that anyway. Trannies find women discussing makeup terribly boring, even though most of them wear lots of it and really could use some advice.
yes, never underestimate the tranny

Vaseline works for me. But I only wear eye/lip makeup and avoid waterproof makeup.

i like a good toner for my face and neck in the morning and before bed, hence the bitching earlier. it just works best for me because it cleans any buildup without drying it out, thus keeping my skin microbiome from having a shit fit and preventing breakouts. it also mitigates the occasional deep tissue acne spot that comes up when god especially hates me that week.

I just started getting into using rose water in a spray bottle for my face at night. I can't find any good glycerin, do you think the rose water on its own is good enough for now? any others have advice with the rose water? Trying to keep my skin as decent as I can and avoiding all the skincare bs everyone is obsessed with now

SweetEase wax strips: work fine, not as good as name brands but I did buy them at the discount store.

Most importantly: they smell exactly like Play-Doh. Exactly.

My skincare routine is as follows: face wash, witch hazel, a serum, eye cream, and a moisturizer (one with SPF during the day of course).

I know it's not for everyone, but I love my hyaluronic acid serums. I have eczema and I break out easily whenever my skin is too dry, so this stuff does wonders for me. My skin does not tolerate acne or breakout treatment stuff like salicylic acid for some reason, so hyaluronic acid works great for me as breakout prevention. And for my fellow eczema sufferers, Cetaphil face wash is the GOAT, and I love First Aid Beauty for moisturizers.

With makeup, I was given an Ulta gift card for my birthday several months ago. I finally spent it on the Natasha Denona "I Need a Nude"
eyeshadow palette (where I even got it 20% off with a coupon) recently. I'm a basic bitch with my makeup, and the very light colors called to me, and ... Yeah, it's pretty much the best and prettiest eyeshadow palette I've ever used. Even the darker colors in the palette are super wearable and for the first time in my life I want to wear a smoky eye. The shimmery colors look wet when you apply them too. It's so pretty.

what SPF lotion do you like to use? I have only ever used goldbond face lotion but I have been interested in trying to get more sun coverage

I use the Olay Complete moisturizer for sensitive skin with SPF30. And then I use a Neutrogena facial sunscreen with SPF50 on top of that on days where I know I'm going to be outside for longer.

The Olay moisturizer feels nice on my skin, and I can tell how there's an ample amount of sunscreen in it based on the borderline white overcast it leaves behind (which is pretty much unnoticeable on my skin because I'm so pale anyway lol).

Hello I'm still a bit new to makeup. Is there anyone that could give me eye makeup tips for really deep-set eyes? I don't hate my eyes or how "dark" they look, but every guide I come across focuses on "hiding" them rather than enhancing. I just want to decorate them in pretty colours without looking like a drag queen. 😭 I've learned to stay away from darker shades of eyeshadow though despite being drawn to dark colours.

What’s the consensus on foundation?
I’ve been using powder foundation for a couple of years now and I like it well enough. However an acquaintance of mine recently went off on a tear about how powder makes your skin look old, and dewy finish bb creams are more flattering after a certain age. I’ve been toying with the idea of trying that, but I have big pores and my skin still gets breakouts, so I’ve held off.

How do you handle the problem of foundation?

I've been using powder foundation lately and I love it. It feels lighter and easier to wash off, plus I like that "vintage" feeling it gives and the matte finish suits better for me personally.

There was talk of pretty packaging further back ITT and I am a huge sucker for that sort of thing too. Any opinions on the Flower Knows brand? It's Chinese, so I'm very sus of it, but oh my goodness.

So tempted. 😭

Really the only thing stopping me from splurging on this is the price tag. A bit too expensive, even as a treat. I've noticed a lot of east asian makeup is just so much cuter than brands you get in the west.

So what are everyone's thoughts on lip oils? Because I'm a millennial boomer, I'm out of the loop on most trends. It appears that lip oils have replaced lip glosses in popularity among the youngins? When I hear "lip oil," all I'm thinking about is how greasy it must feel on the lips and how messy it would be to wear. Plus, they all look sheer, so it's crazy when I see people buy dozens of them in every color.

Is it worth it to own a lip oil? Does it actually moisturize your lips and are lip oils not the greasy messes my brain is assuming they are?

I'm in the same boat for the Flower Knows brand. It all looks so pretty, but the fact that it's manufactured in China is the thing that's stopping me from buying any of it.

I have no interest in buying expensive Temu makeup if that's what it actually is, lol.

I follow american women that are into Cbeauty and they say its good make up, middle end, so just like Maybelline or whatever. Preferrably buy it from a site like Yesstyle or Cute Hart rather than Aliexpress, is my advice; although I havent bought any cbeauty products yet.

However, I'm the same way about Girlcult, another Cbeauty brand, I was literally about to ask if any of you have tried it. Me and my best friend have had our eye on it for quite some time; we might order something together so that we can get free shipping.

Like, look at these lip glosses! The one with green reflects and the greyish one, SORRY?!?!!

Nah, they don't feel greasy at all. It's just a non-sticky lipgloss. It is true that many of them are pretty sheer, so it is in my opinion NOT worth it to buy MULTIPLE SHADES, nor is it worth it to buy a high end lip oil when the drugstore formulas do an amazing job.

The only one I have tried is the NYX lip oil in the red shade. I have to say it's the most hydrating lip product i have EVER worn, but the color payoff isn't very impressive; so I prefer the original NYX butter glosses. From what I hear, the Elf lip oils are good, too.

ALSO this is unrelated and more on the "clothes" part of this thread, but last week I bought a pair of original Steelground white creeper shoes for SIX BUCKS!!!! They are grained leather!
They arrived today and are in absolute mint condition, in their original box and perfectly my size. I'm soooo happy, they are so funny looking and way more comfortable than expected. My mom got super nostalgic because she used to wear these type of shoes.

So the steals are there, its just a matter of finding them...! god bless the internet (sometimes....)

The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is my holy grail:

View attachment 5992761

No scent, not sticky, absorbs well, super-moisturizing.
Been using this every single night for the past 3-4 years! Holy grail, indeed! A jar of this lasts forever, too. I find that First Aid frequently has good sales and releases really affordable gift sets, too. In the last gift set I bought that included this moisturizer, I tried out the serum and absolutely loved it too. Been meaning to buy it again, but the price of that a bit too steep considering how fast I went through a full size tube.

I started having skin issues/eczema back in 2017. Whenever my face would break out with eczema back then, it was horrible-- I'd have redness around my eyes, nose, and mouth. It was so itchy and uncomfortable. Since I started using this stuff, though, whenever I do get an eczema breakout, it's extremely mild to the point where it's not noticeable visually. Much better for my skin than any long term use of steroid creams (which are known to cause premature aging).

This stuff is a total miracle of a product for me.
