Not a medical expert, but can share anecdotal evidence.

I had a (true and honest) female family friend who was always grossly overweight. She didn’t look happy or comfortable.

Dieting wasnt working, exercise hardly. One day she went in to the doctor to talk about what was going on with her, they took a hormone reading and it turned out that she was producing way more estrogen than the average female should.

They got on her on a mix of estrogen blockers and testosterone and she lost a bunch of weight and looked so much better and happier.

Women in menopause will take progesterone and estrogen or men with defective balls will take T injections to feel more balanced. These people take these hormones to fix them but troon logic to to take the wrong hormone and get the same result

women who had ovaries removed (due to cancer for example) use hrt to maintain normal female hormone levels, otherwise they can get problems like vaginal atrophy.
same with men with testicular cancer, they use testosterone replacement because without it they would lose a lot of muscle and get soft, weak and fat like a eunuch.

there's other use cases too, like former bodybuilders who have nuked their hormone system with hardcore steroids, they also need hormone replacement because their body is no longer capable of maintaining normal levels on its own.
also i think women with PCOS have some use for it but i don't know much about the details there

Yep! Regulating the off balance hormones is crucial in reducing the symptoms of any endocrine condition. Unfortunately finding the right bc can be difficult.

If a woman has painful, heavy and irregular periods she might find the pill makes her symptoms worse, or her periods even more unpredictable, but the IUD improves it and stops her periods. (IUD fucking saved me from hell). Another woman could be the total opposite and the IUD makes it worse while the pill makes it all better.

In severe cases surgery is needed, and even testosterone blockers. However docs will want to try less risky options first!

It also prevents them from going into premature menopause. No healthy woman wants to go through that 10, 20, or even 30 early. And it's really sad that (often) if you are found to be past stage 2 ovarian/uterine cancer, you're unable to start HRT to prevent that, even if you're declared cancer free
