It's a stupid shit television franchise that sucked since the 1950s with cheesy effects and stupid acting. Yeah I'll give David Tenant some props for being a fun guy to watch, the rest of the show is stupid, boring, and uninspired.

Better BBC shows exist but that's not saying much because it's the fucking BBC. They got to pay a television tax over there and people are dodging the television tax which reduces budgets and ultimately quality of programming. And as a result, Doctor Who has never been pleasant to watch.

all because "muh taxes reeeeeeeeeeeeer"

checkmate libertardians
checkmate lobsterbacks

Why are you blaming the political ideology that wants the government to be as small as possible?

if it was for them I bet the BBC wouldn’t even exist, let alone a tax payer funded tv show.

Look it's different in the UK the geopplitical climate of greater europe favors a tv tax as the most viable economic tv show production system given Great Britain's island nation status.

Are you really implying something like
"You know what would REALLY pwnz0r the libs? If you pay your taxes LOL, imagine their faces if they had more money and made better quality state propaganda."

Oh really? "Quality state propoganda" from Dr. Who?

And what do you expect that propogsnda to be? That special public phones only capable of contacting police officers are really necessary in the era of unlimited cellular data plans?

What the fuck do you think propaganda looks like? It looks exactly like Dr. Who. Hell you can just ignore any message it may have - TV is zogslop for the masses to pacify them. So yes, its propaganda.

Also you still haven't addressed why you think the TELE LOIICENCE is a good thing. Its fucking gay and you're double gay for suggesting we should pay taxes. Thank god I'm not a resident of Prison Island.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to respond to this retarded thread, but:

Except Doctor Who is one of only two BBC shows (the other being Top Gear) that has ever actually been profitable on its own through merchandise sales and other commercial products. No one is buying action figures of Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances. It wouldn't be affected by license fee evasion in the way you're imagining it.

Doctor Who is crap because of bad writing, not because of its budget.

I'd buy an Onslow action figure.

Libertarians aren't at fault because they want to pay as little taxes as possible, hell, they aren't even a serious political party in any state/country outside of small scale elections or when using a right win party to grift with. The reason lolbertarians are annoying is because the only real position is "Leave my immediate person alone and as little expectations of me as possible while I do the same" which results in them voting in support of the metaphorical "I'm not touching you" stick of degeneracy being as close to touching them as possible, as long as said stick isn't actually touching them.

I thought the big budget David Attenborough projects were profitable

Nah BBC axes or fucks up their programmes in favour of critic ratings since they don't have any other metric for success.
