Disney Plus is really weird when it comes to the Disney Afternoon shows. Hercules isn't on there either in the UK (although it's all on Youtube and I recommend watching it, it's a great show).

The prequels have a lot of interesting concepts, that's what makes it watchable. That's really the only difference between it and the sequel trilogy.

My money says it's racial stereotypes of one kind of or another. I can't recall enough of the show but someone somewhere is likely offended by some random thing or another. I see to recall there was some viking/mongol esque culture with a cheese fetish, no doubt there was sillier than that for a cultural group it's now forbidden to offend.

Or maybe it's Iago and that one weather controlling bird or Genie and the female genie, might be some lines of dialogue that are now problematic like Pepe Le Pew.

I saw this on Twitter earlier today and thought about posting it here, but became dissuaded when I realized that there appears to be no source for this quote beyond this random user on a public Facebook group. I THEREFORE SURMISE THAT THE QUOTE IS A FAKE, additionally being much too obvious in hitting all the buzzwords to trigger outrage among critics of woke on social media.

The grain of truth here is that Tinkerbell has been absent at Walt Disney World as a meet-and-greet attraction ever since COVID while other characters returned. What's new, as reported earlier this month, is that it's only now that the signage for her meet-and-greet spot has been removed, but it appears that explanation is left entirely up to speculation outside of an old official statement from a Disney committee in February explaining where else you can see Tinkerbell, including a meet-and-greet at Disneyland:

Hi Jackson! Meeting some of our favorite Disney characters is a great part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

At present, Tinker Bell does not hold a “meet and greet” opportunity at the Walt Disney World Resort. Of course, she does make her evening flight over Magic Kingdom Park at the end of the Happily Ever After nighttime fireworks show! During our recent visit, my family had an amazing view of “Tink” from just outside the Plaza Restaurant! Another way to see Tinker Bell “live” is during the Festival of Fantasy Parade! The parade takes place daily at Magic Kingdom Park! Please keep in mind that character appearances are subject to change.

You can also see "Tink" in other forms on the Peter Pan’s Flight attraction and in Mickey’s PhiharMagic! Both are in Magic Kingdom Park! Of course, Tinker Bell has her own “Fab 50” statue in Magic Kingdom Park as well! You might need to ask a Cast Member to point out her statue location as it can be one of the more challenging statues to find!

Disney character “meet and greets” do change in the Disney Parks. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website for character updates. Jackson, in case you’re wondering, Tinker Bell currently holds a “meet and greet” at Pixie Hollow at Disneyland Resort in California.

I hope this information is helpful as you look for ways to enjoy one of your Disney favorites!

I've had a gander at the sources you provided, and I stand corrected. There is, evidently, no official source for this past the New York Times Article based on an anonymous source that is never specified.

But I think it still speaks to where Disney is now as a company that this was making the rounds, and no one (myself included) had any trouble believing it was real.
