You can't restitch that; there's nothing to hold the stitches, and even if there were, the only thing worse than infection in an open wound is an infection in a wound that can't get to the surface.

A VAC would help the healing as well as help keep the wound clean with its occlusive drapes, but this is still a tough area to keep a dressing on. You have leg movements, straining, and the threat of peepee/poopoo contamination. The latter can be mitigated with a catheter and a temporary colostomy, but those bring even more problems.

For newcomers to this thread - Rumer filed a libel lolsuit in 2020 against a pair of anonymous (Doe) defendants for running a blog compiling horror stories about her surgical outcomes + aftercare practices. It ended in stupid fashion with one defendant settling and the other getting hit with a nearly $180,000 default judgment because s/he never appeared in court. Considering how she threatened to sue Jezebel.com over a comparably graphic account of her surgical results but never followed through (credit where it is due, Jezebel did not issue a retraction or 'correction' in response to the threat of litigation, only a note that Rumer had threatened legal action) it is pretty clear she was looking to make an example of a defendant who could not afford to fight back.

The lolsuit's dedicated thread is here; the docket on CourtListener is here but pretty unhelpful since the judge sealed many of the documents related to the case.

Have any of her recent botch jobs mentioned in-person follow-ups? This post only mentions using neosporin based on a GP's advice while reddit user babysoots only mentions email interaction before he went to another doctor for treatment. EDIT: mentions seeing Rumer about three years ago and eventually got follow-up care from a different doctor so his posts tell us nothing about what her follow-ups are like today.

With the big caveat that the site might be years out of date, the address listed for her practice is still in Ardmore, not the Conshohocken address tied to her new license (not an attorney or doctor so I'm out of my depth when it comes to how medical licensing works).
