Culture Nickelodeon, Dan Schneider End Relationship, after numerous abuse allegations - LOL ITS FINALLY HAPPENING

EXCLUSIVE: Nickelodeon has ended its long relationship with one of its most prolific series creators, Dan Schneider.

“Following many conversations together about next directions and future opportunities, Nickelodeon and our long-time creative partner Dan Schneider/Schneider’s Bakery have agreed to not extend the current deal,” Nickelodeon said in a statement to Deadline. “Since several Schneider’s Bakery projects are wrapping up, both sides agreed that this is a natural time for Nickelodeon and Schneider’s Bakery to pursue other opportunities and projects.

“Dan and his Schneider’s Bakery team have created a string of lasting, groundbreaking hits over the years including iCarly, Drake & Josh, Victorious, Kenan & Kel and the current number-one hit show on Nickelodeon, Henry Danger, the network continued. “We thank Dan and his Schneider’s Bakery producers, executives and social media team for their immeasurable contributions to Nickelodeon, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors. And Dan and Schneider’s Bakery are proud of the work they did together with Nickelodeon and will always remain big fans of the network.”

The decision comes as Nickelodeon has opted to cancel Schneider’s latest series, Game Shakers after three seasons. I hear the network intends to move forward with a fifth season of Schneider’s remaining live-action Nick series, Henry Danger. (He also has the animated The Adventures of Kid Danger, whose future is unclear.)

“After three seasons and 63 episodes, Nickelodeon has wrapped production on its live-action series Game Shakers,” Nickelodeon said in a statement to Deadline. “We are proud of the show’s success, and our dedicated and talented cast and crew. Premieres will continue to air throughout 2018.”

Among other things, I hear there had been multiple complaints of abusive behavior against Schneider filed by members of his staff.

Schneider has been Nick’s top creator/showrunner of live-action comedy hits for the past two decades. He is credited in part with discovering such young actresses as Ariana Grande, Amanda Bynes, Jami Lynn Spears and Victoria Justice who were case as leads of his series.

But along with all his success, for years, Schneider had been under a cloud of suspicion over the treatment of some younger stars of his shows. Among the things that have raised eyebrows are his tweeted photos of the toes of his young female stars. Additionally, there have been issues with bloated budgets and long production days on Schneider’s shows.

Schneider has had well documented temper issues for years. I hear there was a flareup last week when Schneider — along with the shows cast and crew — was informed that Game Shakers, was not getting renewed for a fourth season and that another series, Kevin Kopelow and Health Seifert’s Austin & Ally, would move into its production space in the Nickelodeon-owned Burbank studios where Schneider’s series had been based exclusively for the past few years.

There was donkey porn before I was born!? Holy shit, it really was over before it even started.
There was "famous" animal porn back in the 60's or 70's that is fucking horrifying. I remember a documentary about it. This one chick was just really into animals and if iirc she fucked a pig a bunch? Idk, it's shit that I really didn't want to put in my grey matter hard drive so really fuzzy on the details.

Given her own negative experiences with Schneider, she decided to speak to Schneider's boss, Brian Robbins, the executive producer and cocreator of "All That." Robbins' company, Tollin/Robbins Productions, also produced "The Amanda Show" and served as Bynes' talent manager.

In a meeting in the Tollin/Robbins offices, Denberg said she told Robbins she had once thought Schneider could be a mentor to her. She burst into tears and explained that she was worried about Bynes. She said Robbins did not ask any follow-up questions but told her Schneider hadn't had it easy either.

Even before the meeting, Denberg did not trust Robbins. He and Schneider were longtime friends, having starred together in the 1980s hit "Head of the Class."
Robbins built a career as a director and producer before returning to Nickelodeon as president in 2018, a few months after Schneider's departure. In late April, Robbins was one of three executives promoted to lead all of Paramount Global as co-CEO.
TIL that the knock-off Vinnie Barbarino from Head of the Class is the fucking CEO of Paramount

>Danish laws on pornography had been totally repealed since 1969

Screw Dan Schneider how the fuck did this happen? What was the context of this and how did it happen?
it was the 60's. most people don't know or don't want to remember

and before that we had weimar. that's why some people say history is cyclical.

I still think Dan didn't rape them kids. Because IF he did he would have fucked teenaged Amanda Bynes and Amanda is fucking nuts she's got no reason not to destroy what's remaining of Dan's career. Unless he's paid her off but even then in this Post #MeToo era...

To the best of my knowledge NDAs (nondisclosure agreements) can't be held up when it comes to crimes and sexual harassment in the workplace. We have seen this over and over again.

And it isn't as if Dan S. is going to keep Amanda out of the work place. And as far as her losing jobs at Disney.... Well Amanda has shat herself up pretty good, face tattoos, gone bug fucking nuts and all. Her acting career is over anyway.

I agree. There is absolutely nothing that would hold her back.

I think there is - money.
I remember some years ago, roommates of Bynes had secretly recorded her and sold these recordings to magazine outlets. In one of them, Bynes stated that her parents and/or family had burned through the majority of her earnings and she had nothing left. While the Coogan Law does exist, it only requires that a pitiful 15% of all income that the child makes be set aside for them, leaving 85% for the parents to use however they please. Not to mention that she was also in a conservatorship until very recently, which I believe gives whoever is in control full access to whatever funds she actually had to herself (which is how Britney Spears' family funneled out a large portion of her money into their own pockets.)
No money left over from the heyday of her career, no prospect of work now or in the near future, plus expensive substance addiction(s) in the past or present can leave one in a very vulnerable place. I would be shocked if Dan didn't come to her with some "gifts" during the time she was at rock-bottom, with the expectation that she keeps things mum.
When Alexa Nikolas came out about her experience at Nickelodeon, she stated that she was offered a very hefty sum of money to sign an NDA when she left the company. As you said, NDAs can't be used to suppress information about child abuse or criminal activites, but not everybody knows that. After a decade of battling her conservatorship, it's possible Amanda doesn't even want to risk dealing with the courts again. There's also the possibility that if she did say anything, and didn't have sufficient evidence to back up her claims, Schneider could try to sue her; he's already threatened to sue the documentary, so I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption. And as we at the Farms know, even if you're 100% legally in the right, court cases are incredibly expensive beyond belief.

There is also the fact to consider that Schneider was involved in attempting to get Amanda emancipated from her parents when she was still a minor. Due to her difficult relationship with her parents, it's possible that she still considers Dan an ally and a friend, regardless of anything inappropriate that happened to her. Child sexual abuse can warp someone's memories and perceptions of the past, to the point where they have a fondness and attachment to the person who abused them, sometimes even feeling sorry for them. Add to that heaps of mental illness and drug abuse, and there's a chance that even now she still would not perceive any abuse she suffered as wrong. There are a few women in the industry who, to this day, defend some of the heinous exploitation that happened to them as children.
From this article:
Journalist Kate Taylor spoke about an alleged incident between Bynes’ parents and Schneider. She said, “She [Bynes] tries to run away from home and in this moment she turns to Dan for help. The details are a little murky but we know from sources that the police were involved. We also know that Amanda’s parents are really upset with Dan’s actions through this”

Kate Taylor alleged, “But around this time, Amanda turns to Dan and other reps to get her emancipated and get her to a new level of independence. This plan takes her parents completely by surprise.” This later caused a rift between Bynes and Schneider.

“There is an argument that could be made that he was trying to help Amanda. But unfortunately for Dan, this goes to court and it entirely fails. Because of Dan’s involvement in this plan to emancipate Amanda, this creates this huge split between Amanda’s parents and Dan Schneider,” alleged Taylor.

Of course, this is all conjecture and tinfoil. There's a chance that only some or none of what I said is true. There's an (unlikely, imo) chance that Amanda was never abused in any form as a child star, or at least not by Dan Schneider. I just felt compelled to reply to you because I feel like there are quite a few reasons someone in her position may not want to speak up, regardless if the reasons are valid enough to justify staying silent and potentially allowing other children to be abused or swept under the rug.

Only semi-related to the above, but I don't believe this has been posted in the thread before. It's an incredibly creepy scene that Dan Schneider wrote as a web-episode bonus for his show Victorious. In it, the character of an adult male drama teacher approaches two of his teenaged students. While filming them, he encourages the male teenager into grabbing the girl and forcibly kissing her as she struggles and tries to pull away, under the guise of "acting" for his video. When she manages to pull away and reacts in distress, the teacher scolds her, shouting, "Stay in the scene! Action!" Shaken, she tries to continue acting out the scene as if nothing happened, but the boy cuts her off and resumes forcing himself on her multiple times. She continues to panic and stuggle, looking to the teacher for help, but he remains silent, watching and recording.
Inside of her locker is a glamour shot of Dan Schneider surrounded by magazine cut-outs of "dreamy" teenage boys with the text "DUDEALICIOUS!"
