I know I am very late to comment on the copecast episode. I find it really astonishing, I guess I really shouldn't at this point. Lessons learned: ZERO.
I think this illustrates why idubbbz will never make a comeback. Even if scenarios where failure was totally outside of one's control, as they have convinced themselves is the case here, someone with a winning mindset will ask themselves- what they could have done differently to prevent it, or mitigate it? If you put yourself in their warped minds, they were totally justified in kicking off Froggy. Well, even if that was so, someone who has a grip might reflect and consider, "hey maybe I shouldn't have done that to maximize the business. It prevented me from being able to promote, and this individual was one of, if not the most hyped events I had lined up." Apply the same thought to the Gala. But, that never crossed their mind. It was the customers that were wrong for not buying. It was because they didn't spend more money on anti-piracy measures. Not because they didn't put on a show worth paying for, they did everything right.
What is really interesting about people who cannot take accountability at a level like this, they themselves truly believe that their own telling of events is accurate. There's really no way to get these kinds of people outside of this delusional feedback loop. We all witnessed their reality colliding with the reality the rest of us have, but not even that was enough to even shake their perception, it only seemed to solidify it. I think this is what makes this duo such an interesting lolcow, though. A young guy who at one point seemed to be a completely rational person, as far as anyone could tell, who is now drowning in a sea of delusion. Unfortunately, I think this go from being hilarious to sad sooner or later, because I really don't think they're rich enough to be completely out of touch with reality. Delusional people might get lucky and taste success, but they won't be able to sustain it.
This might be risking powerleveling, but I've heavily implied in the past if not outright said that I have the misfortune of living in Seattle because I think it's contextually pertinent. It's also pretty obvious I was his demo when he was relevant. I know a lot of people that loved his shit back in the day of the same description. Never heard of anyone seeing Ian on the street, at a coffee shop, just hanging around at local events as you tend to do when you pay out the ass to live in a very expensive metropolitan area. This nigga needs to unironically go outside and touch some grass, and I'm really the last person you want to hear that from.
