We have been over this a million times Von, even to this day he insist that seeking improvement and mastering his craft is not the means to an end for him. It isn't even a goal, he is as good as he'll ever going to be because he doesn't care to put the effort to advance further, in his eyes he is "good enough" and he'll just keep coasting on what little he knows because he is too full of himself to recognize otherwise.

I know. I am fully aware that what I wrote it on par with "And if I could shit bricks of gold, I would be the richest man on earth." Dobson is too full of himself to ever change. However, any other person with Dobson's current skill level could make some money within one or two years of practice and training.

Since Dobson makes this whole art thing look easy, I decided to pay tribute to him in graphite. Nobody can improve upon this masterpiece of sketchwork but the great Andrew Dobson himself.

This is just a riot. All my art learning comes from listening to my ex and nodding with a "yes dear" every few minutes. Dobson is trained and went to school with it.

I can't name an artist who didn't drink themselves to death, cut a part off, blow their brains out, whore around trying find meaning to life or what not. He's acting like he's the first or only person who creates art who's depressed? How can he not know this?

He shares one thing with Van Gogh, he'll die penniless and unloved. But I think the similarities end there.

Successes, what successes? Dobs was somewhat popular on DA and made a few shitty web comics. There is not a single event in his life I would call a "real success".
Also, this is a lot more fun, if you read those tweets alternating between the Smeagol and the Gollum voice.

He really speaks for himself when he re-tweets that, the only factor that he's in his early thirties.

- unable to accept/handle criticism and feedback
- refuses to go back to the basics of art in which will help him improve and succeed in a very competitive industry
- tweets/talks ignorantly about feminism without knowing the actual meaning behind feminism

it's fitting for him in this case. Just as a sixteen year old would act.

And even then, his dA popularity's plummeting with his departure and most people agree his comics suck (Even the ones made for Brentalfloss, IIRC). So to even call j him anything remotely successful would mean he accomplished something beyond making an ass of himself on twitter.

Nobody thinks "gee I want to praise this but I dont want to give this guy an ego, I better stay silent."

If someone likes your art they like your art, you don't produce content saying "people better like this and praise me for it!" You produce what you want and what you like to do and what you hope your audience will enjoy. That's why people like streamers who just stream because they like doing it and hope other people like it. That's also why people don't like streamers like LowTierGod who go "If I don't get at least 200 likes I'm not producing any more content for you so called fans of mine!"
