Another brief railroad strike update:
As of right now, all signs point towards both CN and CP going on strike no earlier than May 22nd. I wholeheartedly recommend stocking up before then, because if both major freight railroads are stopping, a hell of a lot of products are going to suddenly be unavailable, and given the government's aversion to working class protests, the strike is probably going to go on for at least a few days, maybe a week and a half at the longest.
I'll probably write a Happenings thread for it once we get a solid strike date - If in the off-chance anyone who browses this thread is(or claims to know) a CN employee on the conductor/hogger side and wants to add their company's bullshit to the prospective OP(anonymous or credited), give me a shout.

The Vancouver Wharves unions are also in an imminent strike position compounding the consequences of the expected rail strike: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/bus...-reach-impasse-in-labour-dispute-at-bc-ports/

My company is expecting at least a week, maybe two weeks of disruption from one of the three unions in late May or Early June. The worst case would be if they don't all go together, but first the ports then the rails.

PEI not backing down from expiring work permits and reducing PNR enrollment.

Literally telling pajeets, "get skilled or gtfo."
Literally telling them the temporary permits they came in on were not a false pretense to permanently settle them.
They're big mad because jeets elsewhere in the country are obvious ethnic replacements, but PEI isn't playing along.

My apology in advance for another article (A) from The CounterSignal.
Canada drops from 9th to 33rd on quality of life index

Since Trudeau took office in 2015, Canada has fallen 24 places on the world quality of life index, going from 9th place to 33rd.

Canada drops from 6th to 33rd on quality of life index

The numbers come from Numbeo, the world’s largest cost-of-living database, which sources data from nearly 800,000 contributors.
The overall quality of life score is based on eight key factors: purchasing power index, safety index, healthcare index, cost of living index, property price-to-income ratio, traffic commute time index, and pollution index. A ninth factor, the climate index, was added after 2015.
According to the data, in every single category, Canada is doing worse.
In terms of purchasing power, Canadians have dropped from a score of 105.1 (9th, just behind Denmark, Australia, and Sweden) to 83.3 (27th).
For safety, Canada has dropped from 62.5 in 2015 to 54.8 in 2024; healthcare, from 69.6 to 69.1; cost of living, 81.8 to 68.4; property price-to-income ratio, 5.5 to 11 (from 6th place to 34th place in terms of nationwide affordability).
Even in terms of the pollution index, which is the only score besides property price-to-income you’d want to see go down, Canada under Trudeau has managed to do worse, rising from 27.3 in 2015 (8th place) to 30.2 in 2024 (17th place)
In other words, by every metric used to determine quality of life, Canada is doing worse than before Trudeau took office in terms of worldwide rankings.
And while every Canadian may not know these figures, they’re surely feeling it. And it’s being reflected in polls, whether in terms of Trudeau’s nosediving approval rating or in Canadians’ use of food banks.

Everything is so impossibly fucked these days in this country that I don't even know what to make of it. At one point I thought the federal government was just incompetent, but honestly Trudeau himself just seems malicious at this point.

Gotta wonder if it's not partly a strategy? He knows the LPC can't win the next election so go hard fucking everything, leave the next party to hold the bag, blame them for everything, defeat them.
Holy shit premier of PEI once again reiterated, "Yeh we are not changing shit. Being here doesn't guarantee PR anyway. This is the way forward and I gotta look after my province first before these pajeets "
Dennis King has fucked up some things but I'm glad he's sticking to his guns on this.
It's not like these pajeets will stay in pei after they get what they want.
Exactly. Why the fuck would the government invest in people who will abandon it immediately?
These people can complain but they really aren't offering the island much at all.
I am sorry to inform you that Newfoundlanders really are that ugly.
True but there's no better people to go out drinking with.

It is an LPC strategy, the OLP did the same when they were about to lose power in Ontario. Basically fuck everything up, and when the new party tries to fix it, have the media screech non-stop.

What they are banking on, is a Con minority, and to defeat them at the earliest opportunity and then slide back into power.

"But you get your timmies fast bruh. Who is gonna pay the rent bruh. Who is gonna do your Uber bruh. "

This is unironic statement directly out of these students mouth.

The worst part is you don't even get timmies fast anymore! I could have a bit more sympathy if they were actually better at these jobs but try getting an order that's correct or quick in 2024.

Everytime I've gotten an Uber in America it's been some white guy, no exceptions so apparently white people are willing to do it.

Worst thing about them to me is that they think the Canada owes them anything because (1) they paid tuition (2) they paid taxes (wtf their minimum wage job pays wut?) (3) they work minimum wage jobs (4) they pay rent.

But what they don't say is: they live off free health care, they clogg up our infrastructure, they make it difficult for us to rent because they would rent 2 bed room with 6 people, and of course they cheat and abuse our system, bringing their entire family lineage including their olds and once again fuck up our system.

Out of everything, it's their attitude, hostility and hatred of Canada that's more concerning than anything else. They clearly don't and will not integrate, have zero regard for the laws and customs, and clearly think white people are alien to them. How the fuck do you work with these subhumans?
