I don't like this ruling, even food is starting to slide into the morass of postmodernist haze where words mean nothing.

Anything that's encased in bread is a sandwich?
Are pigs in a blanket a sandwich? Are crepes a sandwich? Are croquettes a sandwich? We now live in a world where you could eat a hot pocket and tell people "hold on, I'm eating a sandwich" and be legally correct.

Madness.

These idiots read that ancient sandwich alignment chart meme and said yes to everything.

No definition was given so here’s mine: “A sandwich requires a flour-based around some form of protein.”
Pigs in a blanket are sandwiches. Crepes and croquettes are sandwiches provided they have a meat or cheese in them. A PP&J is a sandwich, but a jelly sandwich is not. It needs the protein to be a handheld meal in and of itself.

That being said, whether or not something is a sandwich is irrelevant, because the real issue in this case is the retarded limitation on what types of restaurants can open in that location.

I mean there would be no reason for this argument if the plaza wasn’t so autistic about only allowing sandwich shops. I can’t see any argument for why that is such an imperative for the plaza especially since even if tacos aren’t sandwiches, I’d argue they’re at least sandwich-adjacent.

Is it Post Modern though? Seems to me that it just makes the definition simple by hacking the gordian knot of tradition. This would mean that a Hot Dog is a Sandwich too. But then I always assumed it was in the first place. Why is my Italian Roll encasing ham and cheese a "Sandwich", but when that same roll encases a whole sausage its not? The court has not fundamentally altered the definition. It has added necessary clarity.

These sort of organizations are the private enterprise version of Home Owners Associations. Them losing is always a good thing.

Well that’s some silly shit niggas. Chicken McNuggets are just chicken wrapped in bread, we’re gonna call them sandwiches? Sandwiches for who? Little people. Or squirrels.

What next, we gonna call hotdogs sandwiches? This country is losing its god damn mind.

But the initial written commitment for the development at a plaza Quintana owns limits the business to “a sandwich bar-style restaurant whose primary business is to sell ‘made-to-order’ or ‘subway-style’ sandwiches.” Quintana said the nearby Covington Creek Association contacted him to say that his The Famous Taco proposal “somehow ran afoul” to that commitment.
>opens a taco restaurant
>you can't build here
>why not?
>a taco is not a sandwich

Why is that even a consideration?

Who wants another crappy Subway anyway? Maybe this whole thing was written up initially to prevent the entire plaza from being braid shops, nail salons, check cashing and sketchy day care. But It seems silly to limit a restaurant spot to just sandwiches just because. It's autistic.

I want to let you know that I can almost read that in uncle ruckas voice it sounds like something he would complain about but the flow isn't quite right

No, tacos and sandwiches are two completely different animals. This is like those jerkoffs who said Pluto isn’t a planet. Just shut the fuck up.
I think people also have to keep in mind what something is defined as legally speaking is not necessarily what that thing is in actuality. For example tomatoes are scientifically speaking a fruit, but they are legally classified as a vegetable. When you look into food law there are a lot of weird classifications for things.
