“I’m probably the person who on this planet least cares about someone’s race” is such an insane thing to sincerely say lmao, like it sounds like a line from it’s always sunny.
Gotta press X to doubt out on that. ALT showed this on Twitter of when Phil had friends, I know it's a shocker that he did once have friends, during the Scott Pilgrim Versus the World playthrough and started letting his true colors come out. There was a boss that was a Chicky Chang Wang and Phil let the 1920's racist thoughts flow, basically calling Asians "slant eyed, greasy bastards, and I hate them." His friends were like "Hey, what the fuck!!" Do I have to bring back the whole "Hey, look out! It's a black woman!", the Left 4 Dead playthrough while trying to quote Francis with his "I hate...", well, Phil being Phil..."Well, I hate the Jews." Also, let's not forget him playing as Issac Himmler during the Dead Space 2 playthrough. Also, let's not forget when Fred Flintstone tipped Phil $14.88, his chat started doing the chant of 1488 - if you know you know - and Phil playing dumb went "Uh, yeah! Fred Flintstone, don't do that okay." While smirking.
Phil totally see's race. Of course, he'll blame Howard Stern, he's just an Italian, and he was still immature at 24, but he's now a mature adult at 42 and his adulthood didn't start until he was 36. Also, all those racist "jokes", well, he drew inspiration from Howard Stern...and I hate to play psychologist, but fuck it! Let's do it.
Howard Stern was born in the 1950's and he is of Jewish descent. Also, in the 1950's, the Jewish community around the world were coming to terms with the horrors and trauma of the holocaust. Also, humor is used a coping mechanism to process trauma. So, when Howard Stern was making jokes about killing Jews, etc...that was used as a coping mechanism to process trauma from people in his community, as they were coming to terms with the horrors of World War 2. That said, much like everything Phil doesn't understand, because the Polack doesn't understand how humor is used as a coping tool, he just thinks "Well, if he can make that joke, so can I." That's NOT how it works. Instead, he blames Howard Stern. I digress.
Point being, he totally see's race. If he didn't, he wouldn't be biting his fingernails to the bone when Tyrone comes on screen.
