Fredda is just a Soviet apologist, if you mean by history YouTuber saying "Acktually capitalism is evil and the west is bad because it don't deny the Germans and Japanese human rights after WW2."

Political Juice, he was a center right youtuber that did intentionally poorly drawn cartoon videos about politics and politic adjacent topics. Like a conservative bent Sam O'Nella if you know him. He did some really good videos, got a following that was pretty conservative, but he started leaning center left after going to college and had a complete sperg out and shit canned his whole channel and did his best to wipe any evidence of his existence afterward by flagging reuploads.

Seems what happens to a lot of right wing YouTubers is they end up getting cancelled for saying something too real or they end up looking like an idiot because they take the lefts bait.
Sometimes they get told they're far right and evil and do a complete trolls remorse and turn into the TDS matt jarbo crowd who apologize for the most milquetoast jokes because they were right wing when they said it.
I think Rudyard should take some time to chill because his videos and history 102 are decent. Also he should not try to debate sneako, or be a red pill bro and stick to history and philosophy more.

I see takes like this circulate in the thread all the time. Some people have the idea that Rudyard is young and inexperienced and one day he may figure it out.

It's never going to happen because Rudyard straight up AVOIDS meaningful intellectual experiences.

He dropped out of college because he couldn't handle his worldview being challenged. He disdains academics because he doesn't value specialization or researchers who cover one topic in depth. He's uncomfortable admitting that history is too deep to know entirely, so he copes along with a bad, broad knowledge of everything. All breadth, no depth. Watch any video and you'll hear him say something like "I realized that this was the way the world worked when I was a child". He thinks this is a flex, showing him to be wise beyond his years. It actually only speaks to his stunted thought. His brain is still trapped in highschool.

And then there's the most egregious issue. Rudyard has hundreds of books on his shelf, but he can't absorb information from any of them. If you've read any of the books which Rudyard claims to have studied, you'll know how often he fucks up basic information and premises. For example, it was just earlier this week that he plugged John Keay's history of India. Despite owning half a dozen books on India, Rudyard makes day one mistakes in his analysis of Indic religion, such as conflating the duties of Vedic Brahmans and later monastics. The impression he got from The End of History and the Last Man was that Fukuyama doesn't think history in the 21st century will be worth recording. Delusional.

Rudyard isn't going to turn things around. He's literally getting worse with every video. But tbh I prefer this direction!

Absolutely right on this, Rudyard only appeals to the 14-16 year old HOI4 addicts that don't want to learn actual history because they think their teacher is a communist agent or whatever (who else would love such unique takes as "Women stink!" and "School sucks!") It's a weird mix of internet-reliant shallow analysis and anti-intellectualism that only those with no understanding and no intent to pursue actual understanding fall into

If they are in their twenties they are severely mentally stunted, but that is believable. One of my cousins who follows these historytubers refuses to get a job and spends his days making alternate history maps in MS paint+Gimp. He is 23 years old and dropped out of College year 1 to pursue doing alt-history flag and map commissions on DeviantArt. He makes no money and has no sex. I just cant imagine a normal, stable adult being into this niche because the one real life example I have is a disgrace to my family name

He has fled from all difficult situations in his life as if he were an irish Shinji in his mid-20s, taking every single one of those near-defeats as proof of his greatness. He tries to be not just an internet philosopher, but also an internet political, spiritual, and military leader, social revolutionary, statesman, and who knows who else. Alt History in general is mostly fairly braindead in my opinion. Very teenage boy video game brained fascination. As a former video game-brained teenager, I do get the appeal. But for anyone to make it anything other than a guilty pleasure is a bit sad. That said, Cody has no pretenses of seriousness so you can't fault him.

So Alt History is a dumb but still fairly fun. The cringier cousin is Futurism, which is what Rudy has dived into in these past couple years. All the pretentiousness with none of the fun of alt history. I'm actually surprised we don't have an Off Topic thread on Futurism. There've been some ridiculous characters in that field over the years.

Thats the problem with Incel autists. Autism is already hard enough to deal with and recognize within yourself, but when you add an ideology that consumes your whole life and personality, it becomes the only thing you can talk about. If you go into a date with a woman, and you already have it in your mind shes a whore seeking a "high value male" irregardless of who she actually is as a person, the situation will deteriorate rapidly. Women are good with body language, they can see contempt and social ineptitude from a mile away. Trying to fake who you are, or being rude isn't the opposite of being "blue pilled", its merely the opposite of being a normal, well adjusted adult.
