Someone sent me a link to this so I made an account to respond. I've been reading through the thread the past two days and I'm on page 44 right now.

I know Greta and Nina personally as I have met them in person and know people who collaborated with them. I do have them added on facebook as well and had mostly just ignored the stuff they posted until I started catching on that they're running a scam. I also happen to have connections to people in higher up positions in the LGBT community on the west coast, since I volunteered with quite a few organizations and as a result have developed a pretty decent network. I want to see this organization taken down. If there's anything I can do to help let me know.

Two weeks ago there was a true and honest tranny suicide of one of the more nutso hardcore TLL asspatters. Now I don´t argue Greta and Nina are in any way responsible, or know about it, but if their "Lifeline" would be any good they might have been able to prevent it. One tranny down, though. I sorta didn´t want to bring it up tbh but it´s all over Twitter by now so shit doesn´t matter, I suppose.

If it is the person I'm thinking of, I still find it amazing that there hasn't been a death announcement or obituary in any newspaper, and that the family and friends of this person have continually turned down requests for donations and have said they have no intention of having any kind of memorial fund for the family (the person left behind a wife who possibly has a kid) or burial expenses. Given the usual tearing of hair and rending of garments traditional after one of these suicides, complete with inquisitions into whether their family deadnamed them in the obituary/on the tombstone, this seems odd, to say the least.

It's not odd, it's normal. We just have a really skewed perspective of how people behave because the people we follow are drama whores who tend to be surrounded by other dramatic people.

It's more usual than not here, too, but the notices are usually placed by funeral directors so if it's a private funeral or direct cremation/committal (ie, there's either no service or the family organises their own service separately from the disposal of the body) then there's unlikely to be a public notice.

It seems like family and friends really want to distance themselves from outsiders and hangers on, and who can really blame them for that, especially if they feel that the trans community is just going to politicise the death.
