There are a couple of likely explanations to why they don’t know what to expect. (I’m not practicing in Burgerland but informed consent knows no boundaries ya know, so I think this applies). Can any medfags explain why this is? I've seen it used so much with troon shit that's it's become synonymous in my head with "not informed", but what's it supposed to be? Is it only "gender science" where it means the opposite of what it sounds like or is it always pretty much a hand waving form like a terms of service?
1). They have been informed, in writing, verbally, it was read to them backwards while they were sleeping, the info was tattooed into their retinas - but they only heard what they wanted to hear. You’d be surprised how common this is. Don’t blame the doctor who took the time to record that subliminal message.
2. Same, but they didn’t understand what was said. That’s on the doctor. A good practitioner always asks the patient to explain back to you what was said during the consultation.
3). The consent form, in 2 points cursive comic sans, was the only info they got, and they didn’t read it, just signed it. Bad form from everybody, but probably legal? Again, not a burger.
Sorry, the ambien is kicking in so this is all I’ve got.
