Retro games and emulation - Discuss retro shit in case you're stuck in the past or a hipster

Seems like the recent bad weather in Kentucky mixed with clearly overburdened shelves has toppled them over and led to him inexplicably claiming he was ransacked.
The shelves are 100% the issue. Even if someone came in and just threw everything around, why is one table still untouched? And how does an open gate signify a break-in? These people are dumb and he knows this, this is going to be used as some sort of donation grift.

Beat me to it you cheeky fucker. Was/is GC emulation gimped in a similar way? Or would Dolphin be superior to something like this? It just has me giddy for TP on PC.
GC is actually one of the easiest platforms to emulate now. Single-core, PowerPC, standard-ish early 2000s Radeon GPU. The only real challenge was that its GPU operated on integers instead of floats, but once PC GPUs started getting integer support in the early 2010s, it basically became as near to perfect as possible.

Are there any good HDMI adapters for the Wii that don't introduce input lag?
No, the Wii doesn't output a digital signal directly. Only way to get one is to directly tap the internal hardware with something like an HDMI mod. Otherwise, you can get one of the enthusiast upscaler boxes like the retrotink where they're autistically engineered to introduce as little latency as possible.

Is it worth buying a PS2 if I don't have a CRT? A friend gave me a spare FreeMCBoot card and I'm willing to buy a refurbished PS2 fat so I could just keep games on a hard drive. I was wondering if the input lag would be unbearable enough on a flatscreen TV to be worth the purchase of a PS2 as opposed to just emulating PS2 games like I've been doing so far. I have a fairly large backlog of PS2 games that I still have to get through, so I wouldn't mind the investment into things like a RetroTINK if I have to get one (jesus fuck they're 325??).
You'll want a retrotink just because your TV's built-in upscaler is designed for film and TV, so it 1) looks like shit and 2) doesn't care about latency. Something like the retrotink is probably a good investment. Like with the Wii convo above, you can buy an HDMI mod but the one for PS2 isn't going to be much cheaper than just buying a retrotink (I think it's like $200 last I checked).

all south of 300 dollars compared to CRTs which you can still get for free if you look in the right places.
This is going to depend heavily on where you are in the country. The reddit collectorfag crowd has basically cleared out every CRT in my region and now boomers and thrift stores are all aware of how valuable their CRTs are and demand high prices for them. This is what the CRT market looks like in bumfuck America right now:

Does anyone happen to know how to get hitman contracts to work on pcsx2? It kinda runs but it's doing this weird thing where the top of the screen is covered with a blurry box in gameplay and 47 keeps ducking down out of view when he stops moving.

I’m pretty sure PS3 has jack shit besides piracy, emulators, and cheats. Someone ported Sonic Mania, so I guess there’s that?
The ps3 homebrew i heard is pretty good heck you do can quite alot with a hacked ps3 ( converting ps2 isos to ps2 classics pkgs for one though compatiblity varies ) though aside from the psp and vita sonys stuff just seem to suck at homebrew, even the ps4 isnt all that great homebrew-wise.

When I played that I had to run it in software mode. Had the same issue. Software mode cleared it up, but I lost the ability to have all the fancy graphic enhancements. Otherwise, the pcsx2 wiki might have a more modern solution, make sure you have the latest nightly build installed, etc.

Been thinking about getting some emulation biz set up on my Kodi media center so I can do some retro gaming. Maybe play FF6. It's been a few years.
