Its difficult for a drunk like Nick who doesn't have to work or worry about money to ever hit rock bottom. Rock bottom for someone like this is usually total body failure leading to hospitalization or brain damage so sever that they become a literal zombie.

Respectfully, I'd say people who find a rock bottom are able to practice humility. I'm not sure I've ever seen Rekieta exhibit that behavior outside of the momentary embarrassment when he drunkenly shamed his wife for "being blown the fuck out". Drunks, and all people for that matter, can experience reprieve when they take a step back and approach their surroundings with respectful, perhaps mildly meek, awareness.

After the pride comes the fall indeed. Fucking embarrassing.
