Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

wow, Trump confused looks like CWC.

They were both dysfunctional, warped people.

But both used to have far more full, capable lives.

Don't you think 1980 Borb were vastly different than 2010 Borb?

In 1980, they were both barflies who had fun. By 2010 one was a hoarding snorlax, and the other was slowly dying from bed bugs.

I believe there is perhaps a lot more sympathy from people, including myself, for Bob compared to Barb.

The guy came across as a hard working, family man who loved to socialize with people. An old man who liked to run a green house, listen to records, and watch classic television. He spent his golden years babysitting an autistic manchild and his hoarding wife.

Sure he had family issues with his children and Cole, and sure he bought into the gameplace conspiracy, but he was an old man trying to make everything work for his crazy family. He was probably a fairly normal guy.

Barb on the other hand, is a completely different dinosaur altogether. She was just as much of a burden as Chris was to the household, and perhaps is the source where Chris gets many of his negative personality traits. I bet she was the one who kept bringing in cats into the household, and she was definitely the one who brought in the horde that made the house almost unlivable.

Was she different in the past? Didn't she always used to lie and it had to take Cole to spend money on a P.I. to find out the truth of his parentage?

I don't believe that relationship changed from 1980 to 2010 anymore than a Yin-Yang symbol changes from 1980 to 2010.

The family became more reclusive likely because Chris kept fucking shit up and looking like a fool in public. When your son is humping plastic and drinking excrement online, or doing a sperg's hit and run on a local business owner, you definitely don't want to be seen in places where people can ask questions or give you looks.

I'm guessing Barb was like Chris, but just in how she took responsibility. Did she sneak out at night, did she sleep around in school, did she trip in the 60s? Bob probably marries her out of sympathy, and dealt with the two adult childs as best he could.

If it comes down to deciding who is worse, its definitely Barb, but if we're debating if they were all equally trashy and redneck, I think Bob is innocent.

I feel like there's shit about bob we may never know. Why did his daughter hide the fact she had a 13 year old child? They wrote off Bob like Cole wrote off Barb, and Cole is just a common dickweed.

Just read about the Bluespike thing in detail for the first time. Fucking Christ, thats terrible

Many would disagree, actually. I'm rather ambivalent. On one hand, Chris is a detestable human being who refuses to even try to improve or to think of anything besides his own immediate impulses, so I like watching him suffer. On the other hand, we have "JULAY!" and Chris shoving his medallion up his ass because trolls used a 13-year-old boy to sexually exploit Chris. I'm honestly extremely surprised no legal consequences came of that, because it's still a severe crime to use a child sexually even if just to troll someone who's mentally no older. It was an extremely stupid idea to use a child for those missions.

I did read the logs of the culmination of this saga, and it was a bit cringe-worthy in parts despite my hatred of Chris. It was so bad that even Bluespike apologized towards the end.

I wish the parents of Blue Spike could have been notified so that way, Chris would have gone to a long-term care facility, and the thirteen year old would have got probation and a slap on the wrist.

Bluespike wasn't used for a mission. Bluespike was the leader.

I was talking mostly about the mental imagery it lends itself too than anything

Um, that stuff all happened relatively late in the game. Borb were already hermits by the time Chris was in high school, and Chris in 9th grade could pass for "that weird but sweet kid". If Chris was a factor in his parents decline, it was because they were already figuring out that the bar scene wasn't working for them anymore, and they didn't have enough in common to start cultivating mutual interests or hobbies.

Chris is probably lucky the Bluespike thing didn't have an legal ramifications. Even though Chris was unknowing, he still could have gotten in trouble for having a sexual relationship with a minor. His life is rough enough without having to register as a sex offender.

It would be far more likely what ever troll was claiming to be incharge (Clyde, iirc) could have been held culpable for that and Chris and Spike would have been seen as the victims.

What? Seriously? I thought you were. A 13-year-old was the lead troll? Wow. Those were interesting times, for sure.

Hah, I just remembered, as horrific as all of that was that night, not even 10 days later he was pursuing girls again, and less than three weeks later there's the Emily incident. The whole month is a great legacy of failure for CWC. Those were the days...

Yeah, and it would have been a miscarriage of justice to have charged Chris with anything. If there's anyone who legitimately cannot tell the difference between an adult girl and pubescent boy, it's Chris. Though, if he did get convicted for that and was prevented from going online as a condition of his release, it might have been the best thing to happen to him. Assuming he survived his prison sentence, anyway.

The "girl" had ultimate control. "She" chose when to schedule things, "she" chose the plans and "she" approved everything. Girls weren't installed by the group. The girl got in contact with Chris and the group just supported them in response as stage hands.
