I knew this was going to happen and that anyone who suggested otherwise was on the finest copium. Saddest part is it's getting great reviews and will probably sell great.
I considered it a given, I'm more surprised that anybody was surprised that it happened.
i'm so bored of games i like being fronts in this gay ass culture war. it's always fucking treehouse games, too. if i'm remembering right fire emblem fates was a pretty hot topic during gamergate as well
My first Fire Emblem was Awakening, I loved it (yes, I'm a fucking tourist) and I heard enough retarded shit about Fates to stay hell away from it.
But any sort of thinking beyond "girly man is trans" would require some level of understanding of a non-American culture. And no matter how "progressive" this crowd is, that's something they can't handle. Especially in regards to those homophobic, slant-eyed yellow devils who need an educated, suburban white woman to correct their awful products.
The obsession of seeing everything from THEIR lens is exhausting. Miniature game I enjoy changed a fantasy viking like army's base unit from clansmen to warriors or something of the sort. Somebody asks "why" and suddenly a faggot out of nowhere starts talking about the kux kux, because of course that's the only concept of clan that any of these faggots can come up with. The punchline is that the game is British, so has zero reason to give a shit about something like that.
Blantant okama erasure, smdh
Bon Clay weeps. He doesn't want no stink ditch!
Vivian was always a controversial character from the beginning. If Nintendo kept the original translation, troons would lose it, and now that they "won", it's us who are losing it. No one would be at peace with this character. There are other things in the game to enjoy.
The original translation did a disservice to the original text. But turning Vivian into a tranny is not it either. The whole femboy is a very Japanese thing that has zero relation with "representation" and a lot more with fetishes and to mock weirdos in a "well, ain't that the strangest" sort of way.
Wasn't they already implied trans in the original Japanese?
Femboy ain't the same as trans. Femboy has no interest in chopping his dick and balls, femboy also interacts like a man, femboy likes dressing up like a woman. They are both degenerates, but there are levels. The have a lot more in common with drag but without wanting to look like walking parodies as much. Okama I'd say are a lot closer to drag, but are also not trans either as it has been made to be understood in the west.
Yuzu is dead, is there any better alternative than Ryujinx?
I'm still using Yuzu till I finish older games, but I guess I'll have to start getting used to Ryujinx going forward.
This is a case where I really don't get it, sure the localization could be closer to the original script, but trans faggot or femboy faggot what's the difference? Is one supposed to be more "based" than the other?
Japan's fondness for media that has effeminate male characters that cross-dress was never going to end well in the age of the transgender craze.
It's about ignoring cultural subtleties to jam in your political propaganda because if you squint it's kind of the same.
I think the message that people are missing is that no matter how it's translated, Vivian is a sick, degenerate fuck and should never have been in the game in the first place.
Agreed, the Okama thing I at least can find funny, but the femboy thing is absolutely fucking degenerate, something that I swear I'm unable to understand where it came from (is it the Fujioushis again or is that the only way a nip will admit they are gay?). I'm convinced it's a fetish thing for sure, but cannot understand why it's so widespread.
The whole beldam deflect doesn't even work if from what im hearing, she no longer calls Vivian a man to insult their appearance. This localization is so half-assed and inconsistent they tried to have their tranny colored cake and eat it too without fully committing to the bit.
Trannyshit aside, I cannot express how much of a downgrade the new soundtrack is. Every single track is completely drowned out by synths or trumpets and ends up sounding like overproduced garbage you'd hear in fan remixes off youtube.
You compare
to their original counterparts
I'll state now that I've never played this, but the remake tracks are definitely a step below the original versions. Definitely seemed like the composer was having more fun with the soundboard.
