I'm not speaking sarcastically when I say this, even if it sounds like it: if you believe a hyperbolic or vitriolic reaction will convince more people to boycott or pirate the game, then keep that enthusiasm going. I'm saying just be aware of the potential consequences involved in how your opponents are reacting.

It doesn't all have to be boycotts, review bombs, refunds, and lawsuits; those are just the most effective weapons, in the same way an artillery shell is more effective than a 9mm bullet at attacking a fortified base. Both tools have their place.

However, every such incursion should be loudly and obnoxiously objected to. Raising a stink on social media is free, and it hits companies in the reputation they claim to care about. It stresses out the pozzed community managers, it floods their inboxes with bad feedback, and it causes crisis meetings for people who imagine their jobs are comfortably safe. I don't care how minor the issue, like Sarkessian said, point it all out all of the time. Not because you're angry enough to boycott the game, but because you want the people who followed Anita's advice 10 years ago to get hit with the same deluge of bullshit they've been aiming at you.

There is no benefit to a proportionate response in Current Year. Become unreasonable.

You need to invest in an S-Video cable for your N64.

Also, arguing with someone who is so into Paper Mario for N64 they have the ghost from it as their avatar isn't going to accomplish anything besides unleashing a torrent of autism.
Imagine thinking that's a good roast.

Man I sure as hell find it funny how a modern indie game looks literally worse than a game for the N64.

oh well if it’s in the original text now I’m not as concerned about that.

I’m now more concerned with why Nintendo did that.
It's their new modus operandi, they censor/modify games directly at the source instead of just in localizations so that they can't get accused of censorship, it's something they've started to do recently. Treehouse directly consults with the other localization teams or development team to make these changes. I think I saw someone explain it in more detail in the game censorship thread. It's what happened with Xenoblade 2 and 3 because Treehouse got massive shit for what they did to X and the Fire Emblem games, so they can point and say "no it was actually NOE that localized the game" despite the fact that Treehouse was still heavily involved and most likely the driving force behind the censorship and blatant mistranslations/fanfiction.

I wouldn't know. I only play anime dating simulators. I find they do a good job of distilling gameplay and storytelling down to its purist form, because they disregard politics, and focus on what the player wants.

9. Toby Fox (Undertale guy)
lol lmao
I'll namedrop one: Bug Fables, paper mario spiritual successor that also made some fags mad because one of the mini-bosses is a gay crossdressing male ant who one of the characters refers to as a "vile, flirty criminal" best part that's the only known gay char in the game and you get to beat the shit out of him
Bug Fables, The Binding of Isaac, Ultrakill, A Hat in Time
all pozzed

I knew this was going to happen and that anyone who suggested otherwise was on the finest copium. Saddest part is it's getting great reviews and will probably sell great.
I considered it a given, I'm more surprised that anybody was surprised that it happened.
i'm so bored of games i like being fronts in this gay ass culture war. it's always fucking treehouse games, too. if i'm remembering right fire emblem fates was a pretty hot topic during gamergate as well
My first Fire Emblem was Awakening, I loved it (yes, I'm a fucking tourist) and I heard enough retarded shit about Fates to stay hell away from it.
But any sort of thinking beyond "girly man is trans" would require some level of understanding of a non-American culture. And no matter how "progressive" this crowd is, that's something they can't handle. Especially in regards to those homophobic, slant-eyed yellow devils who need an educated, suburban white woman to correct their awful products.
The obsession of seeing everything from THEIR lens is exhausting. Miniature game I enjoy changed a fantasy viking like army's base unit from clansmen to warriors or something of the sort. Somebody asks "why" and suddenly a faggot out of nowhere starts talking about the kux kux, because of course that's the only concept of clan that any of these faggots can come up with. The punchline is that the game is British, so has zero reason to give a shit about something like that.
Blantant okama erasure, smdh
Bon Clay weeps. He doesn't want no stink ditch!
Vivian was always a controversial character from the beginning. If Nintendo kept the original translation, troons would lose it, and now that they "won", it's us who are losing it. No one would be at peace with this character. There are other things in the game to enjoy.
The original translation did a disservice to the original text. But turning Vivian into a tranny is not it either. The whole femboy is a very Japanese thing that has zero relation with "representation" and a lot more with fetishes and to mock weirdos in a "well, ain't that the strangest" sort of way.
Wasn't they already implied trans in the original Japanese?
Femboy ain't the same as trans. Femboy has no interest in chopping his dick and balls, femboy also interacts like a man, femboy likes dressing up like a woman. They are both degenerates, but there are levels. The have a lot more in common with drag but without wanting to look like walking parodies as much. Okama I'd say are a lot closer to drag, but are also not trans either as it has been made to be understood in the west.
Yuzu is dead, is there any better alternative than Ryujinx?
I'm still using Yuzu till I finish older games, but I guess I'll have to start getting used to Ryujinx going forward.
This is a case where I really don't get it, sure the localization could be closer to the original script, but trans faggot or femboy faggot what's the difference? Is one supposed to be more "based" than the other?
Japan's fondness for media that has effeminate male characters that cross-dress was never going to end well in the age of the transgender craze.
It's about ignoring cultural subtleties to jam in your political propaganda because if you squint it's kind of the same.
I think the message that people are missing is that no matter how it's translated, Vivian is a sick, degenerate fuck and should never have been in the game in the first place.
Agreed, the Okama thing I at least can find funny, but the femboy thing is absolutely fucking degenerate, something that I swear I'm unable to understand where it came from (is it the Fujioushis again or is that the only way a nip will admit they are gay?). I'm convinced it's a fetish thing for sure, but cannot understand why it's so widespread.
The whole beldam deflect doesn't even work if from what im hearing, she no longer calls Vivian a man to insult their appearance. This localization is so half-assed and inconsistent they tried to have their tranny colored cake and eat it too without fully committing to the bit.
Trannyshit aside, I cannot express how much of a downgrade the new soundtrack is. Every single track is completely drowned out by synths or trumpets and ends up sounding like overproduced garbage you'd hear in fan remixes off youtube.
You compare
to their original counterparts
I'll state now that I've never played this, but the remake tracks are definitely a step below the original versions. Definitely seemed like the composer was having more fun with the soundboard.

The original Japanese text from 2004 was kind of "TeeHee this is a man that dresses as a woman, isn't that silly. WTF?" It was a joke that the character looked like a ghost girl, but was actually a ghost trap. Basically the same joke they do with the tranny on Always Sunny where the person looks like an insanely attractive woman, but is actually a man and humor is derived from that.

The original 2004 translation turned the character into a woman because Nintendo of America didn't want to put a ghost trap in a children's game.

The remake does not derive humor from it and is basically like, "No actually, this is a brave and beautiful trans woman who was misgendered and it's not funny at all."

It is quite different from the original intent.
This should be pinned for the 200 people who have come into this thread so far just to repeat “what was the original japanese like?????” ad-nauseam.
You do realize the reason they skipped it was due to the studio fucking dying and needing a hail mary right
Remaking a 10 year old game that had already aged well for a system that had been dead for two years and could already natively play the original version? That’s not a hail mary, that’s throwing the ball backwards and out of bounds.

Treehouse faggots were fucking up FE translations since before Trump's term, that's how long they've been weaseling shit. And there's the new NoA passdown where they are hiring specifically on D.I.E. grounds. It's gonna take a Chinese reverse-Nanking on Nippon to un-nigger them from Americanda's clear influence.

Soundtrack is fucked.
You can replace it for the Gamecube tracks thankfully.

But there's really no reason to buy this remake. The OG is just better and more consistent.

I can't even have anything good anymore
This remake was never going to be on the original level, the first trailer made it obvious. It's a sidegrade or a downgrade visually overall, and there are no actual gameplay tweaks. The Vivian troonshit is trash but it's only like 2 lines and crossdrosser is already pretty degenerate. Troons rejoicing is always disgusting but it wont last long. It'll be impossible to discuss this game anymore, though.

On the bright side, it might sell better than TOK and bring TTD (Total Tanabe Death).
