What’s amazing about the Ohio thing is, if they actually hold on it, republicans have plenty of evidence the democrats would do the same if the shoe was on the other foot so even RINOs can be insulated from this decision. “Oh, but that’s different, because Orange. Man. Bad. But we’d totally let your people on the ballot, honest!”

But that's also why the US ultimately lost GWOT: it isn't configured for an asymmetrical conflict with non-state actors, and thus got bogged down doing pest control for 20 years.
The United States won the GWOT if you believe killing Bin Laden was the end goal.

The United States or any other nation would inevitably lose a GWOT style war if your goal is to make money over even trying to make a meaningful difference and no end goal.

I don't get the hate for our elders
dude, you're in your 50s. its not your parents that people are shit talking its you, boomer.
and more that having their culture and lives centered around television completely melted their sense of skepticism and ability to think critically. They're conditioned to only passively be spoonfed information, come to their conclusions about people and situations entirely through superficial audio-visual impressions, and to never organically think about the larger context around who is presenting said information and why.
this is why i hate boomers, its insane how these types will literally overwrite previous opinions that they drilled into your head just because the guy on tv said otherwise.
The office drone must make more money and be more valuable to society than a plumber,
it really depends on the area, but in my personal experience yes they do. i actually felt guilty about it because every body i know from med techs to EMTs to Electricians to waiters all made less than me learning how to use excel. One of the best things our high school had us do is go on job boards and look at the job listings, it really drills into you how pay and effort aren't linked at all and honestly the higher the pay the less its linked up. College is only necessary because it proves you aren't a useless nigger.
but the propaganda fog must've been so all-encompassing and impenetrable pre-Internet
from what i hear about older cousins or friends of cousins that off'd themselves its true. critical thinking skills, especially if you didn't live in a major city basically didn't exist. And once you do move to the city you're just replacing one group think for the other usually. group dynamics are hard to avoid. Almost no one questioned why about anything ever. for fucks sake, Randy from scream was considered a weird dude just for recognizing rather obvious patterns in films. thats how bad critical thinking was even in the 90s, just recognizing patterns was considered quirky to people. And slasher films are some of the easiest films
Why can't there be any 50-60 leaders anymore
turns out those people are somehow worse at their jobs. look at kamala or barack (i'm noticing a pattern)
But with California, I don't think it'll actually work. Eventually, you'll only have people who are net negative on taxes left.
south africa is at roughly 50:1 for leaches vs contributors and its still functioning well enough for people not to care.
If Trump wins, it will be the equivalent of 1992 and 2008
probably more 08 than 1992, as much as people whine about Billy, he had the most experience as an executive branch leader of literally anyone that either ran or became president because of how long he was governor. Being in congress doesn't prepare you for being president whatsoever, which is a huge reason LBJ dropped the ball on everything that wasn't congress-related while in office, Vietnam was such an obvious clusterfuck that people assume he killed the original brain worm Kennedy because even a drugged up FAS retard wouldn't have let that shit happen.
by becoming that person's vp.
impossible, one of the only requirements for VP is that you could become P

The USA is a deadly friend. We burned all our Chinese assets too. Wasn't that related to the Clinton email server?
FP has a plausible theory for the leaks. Basically, team spook ported over communication tech from the goatfucker wars, underestimating China's ability to monitor communications in their own territory. This exposed one major spy, who flipped and handed them enough info to crack the network and go on a killing spree of CIA assets.

I hope it happens because it will be hilarious when the GOP removing Biden from ballots instead of the DNC removing trump from them.

The rage will be so entertaining.

but is impossible for a person.
your dog weighs a lot less than you.
The big matchup DNC wise was Howard Dean vs John Jerry
Kerry had a Trump-tier massive lead against the some dozen plus other nominees, people forget the scream was Howard coping about how badly he lost in iowa, even if they decided based on the polls right before iowa who'd be the nominee Dean would have come in like 9th place.

there's a fairly funny SNL skit about it at the time mocking all the non-john kerry people running, which should tell you how bad shit was, that even SNL was mocking these democrats as fucking losers.
the whole laying a trap
lol, it was literally almost as obvious as posting a screenshot of kiwifarms. The font itself used in the documents was literally only invented for Windows XP, you'd have to be a literal retard to not see that it was bullshit from the start. If someone showed you texts from an iphone with green bubbles you'd call bullshit immediately but the entire CBS news team was like "yep works for me"
refers to anyone over the age of 35?
yes this one. or at least anyone born in the 70s, Gen X is so few in number compared to boomers or millenials and the job/housing market was so fucking awesome in the 90s that the best criticisms someone born in 79 might have is something silly like "daddy hated trannies"

meanwhile if you were born in the 80s, at minimum you grew up in the post-9/11 shit security state and got fucked by the dot-com bubble explosion or the great recession or most likely both. I know plenty of losers born in the 70s that were able to pay their way through school and buy a house and i also know guys born in the 80s that worked their way up the ladder and studied their asses off and got in the right industries and still didn't buy a house until they were in their 40s, if they ever got a chance at it.

In general so few Gen X are alive at this point and they're so old that they're either swallowed up by boomers or millenials in terms of their views. manchildren are over grown millenials and the others are boomers.

Raᵗʰergate. I remember the cope to this day that an IBM Selectric typerwiter totally could have produced that memo. CBS kept deflecting, and the pajama-clad bloggers did a deep dive and found that no, no National Guard unit had Selectrics, and in fact, there were other features in the document that could not have been produced by a Selectric. It was straight up MS Word. That saga is also where we got the term, "fake but accurate." I think that was when I really, really came to hate the media.

Just about everyone in corporate leadership is a Gen Xer now. It's the cohort over 44 and under 60. What makes Gen X unique is that the worst thing that happened to them was living in the shadow of Boomers. We shit on Boomers a lot, but Vietnam, the chaos of the Sixties, the malaise of the 70s (my dad is still pissed off about what they did to Nixon) and the Cold War were formative for them. For Gen X, it's boo hoo hoo Kurt Cobain was sad and my parents didn't like fags.

It's super easy to get old typewriters working too. When you want to take down a presidency, but are also really lazy...
This was when hyperautistic analysis was not yet a thing so they assumed it’d just be good enough to run with. They themselves likely didn’t know these differences and probably not even the alphabet agencies could easily tell. I’d say even now not much has changed for the better, considering the frequency the media still falls for hoaxes because all they really care about is who/whom friend/enemy ideological distinctions. The Steele dossier situation would’ve been a massive scandal at any other point in American politics up ever since some orange guy talked about building a wall. At that point, all hands were on deck to get rid of the guy.

why & are you serious or an idiot?
is there a ban on us tech or us tech glows in china?
The former official described the attitude of those in the agency who worked on China at the time as “invincible.”

Typewriters and snail mail are a really slow way to communicate. It's easier to get a HAM radio license. But if you're worried about being wiretapped or you're clever, you and whoever you want to communicate with can go to your local supermarket, buy one of those romance novels with the naked cowboys on them (and they have to be naked cowboys because Ram Ranch needs to keep the water in its showers flowing), and come up with a code that corresponds with the pages in the book.

Looks like Ohio is really forcing the issue to get the DNC to say whether Biden is the Democratic Nominee after the Ohio General Assembly did not move on carving out an exception.

There really is a chance Biden does not show up on the Ohio Ballot.
Is this because the Dem convention is later than normal?

I wonder if that, along with the early debate, lends credence to the idea that they want Biden to flame out and then have time to replace him. It would be unprecedented if a Presidential nominee was on the ballot and died or was incapacitated or stepped down between the Convention and Election Day. There is a real chance they would not be able to legally replace him, which would lead to a Constitutional crisis.

I bet the supreme court would expedite an ok for this.
