That's still a useful statistic to remember the next time some retard tries to bring up Japanese rail as a model of mass transit.Farebox recovery only includes operating costs, so the Japanese are just collecting capital costs as well.
Brainlets often blame "Marge vs. the Monorail" on the lack of public transit acceptance, not realizing that the real lesson was that you should never use public transit as a flex. This feels like the set up to the Monorail episode of the Simpsons.
They should be.
Does she have popular support? If not, you could probably report her, especially if you could bait her into saying something about Israel.Nutcase on Nextdoor shaming everyone who is up in arms about a road that some stupid little interest group got their hands on to temporarily try out no cars. "It's not for you. Get over it " called people monsters, garbage, and also racist.
The best way to deal with them is to say "I'd love more safe bike routes. We should build a nice bike trail which is much safer than a bike lane". Then when she spergs out because you found a solution that doesn't take away car lanes (her real goal), she looks crazy to every neutral onlooker and no one wants to support her plans.Nutcase on Nextdoor shaming everyone who is up in arms about a road that some stupid little interest group got their hands on to temporarily try out no cars. I guess this should be on the Breadtube thread but Knowing Better is such a retard. He used to be relatively okay, but he spiraled so hard into Breadtube, he's insufferable now. I wouldn't be surprised if he joins the "carfree movement" and makes a two hour long essay about how evil and rayyyyyycist the auto industry is.
Jason Slaughter already promotes him at every opportunity he can, honestly surprised he isn't already in the carfree rabbit hole. His only good video was on Columbus (and even then he walked it back after getting flack from other lefties).I guess this should be on the Breadtube thread but Knowing Better is such a retard. Who's even buying new trucks straight from the dealer? Anecdotal, but most people I know are looking at used trucks that are way cheaper and less flashy interiors. Thanks Vaush, why yes I will buy the MmmmbigTruck.
Usually either people leasing or financing probably. I think it was said in this thread before, but contractors usually like doing this. I'm not complaining though, the more people who spec out all the nice options the better it is for the people who buy used.Who's even buying new trucks straight from the dealer? it gets worseThey used to argue that New York City had >50% households without a car, but I believe that's no longer true for the city as a whole (and if it is it's rapidly decreasing). The ID thing is real, though, because legally stores are supposed to card anyone who "looks under 40" to buy alcohol or tobacco. Are they saying that shops never card for that (and thus breaking the law), or that Manhattanites don't buy alcohol or tobacco?
tbh I really want there to be a trend of 70's land yachts but with EV drivetrains slotted in for use as town/suburb cars, be comfy af cruising to work, and way more efficient and powerful then the asthmatic V8's they originally came with lol.Libertarian man is back with part 2. I feel like at this point he knows about fuckcars and is just taking potshots at them.
Is he referring to the can of worms that is REAL ID that the government has been pushing for decades? Why is he ok with what is essentially a passport for domestic travel (which is not only redundant to state IDs as well as potentially violates the amendment in regard to free travel between states), but act like getting a state issued ID is the hardest thing in the world? Just admit you think people are too dumb/lazy to get an ID and then justify why those people should even be voting in the first place.
I don't participate in local social media, but I do, and did report name calling. They should be.

This won’t fix your problem, but it would be funny. These people hate being told no.
Last time this shit happened there was a lot more support, but the impact on safety and traffic was so bad that most people are mad about it this time. We've got a local famous person and college kids that keep collaborating to make this thing happen in the hopes that everyone will see how great it is and finally turn in their cars. If I can hang tough, I actually like these dumb trial projects because everyone ends up hating it so it ends up being bad PR for this excessive bike crap. The best way to deal with them is to say "I'd love more safe bike routes. The real threat though is that your city likely has an activist urban planner on staff who came up with the "no cars street" idea and they need to be fired or else they'll keep trying to transform your city into a fictional version of Amsterdam.
Despite being from an exurb I realize that it was very naturally pretty and won't screech endlessly about how it needs to be obliterated (most planners learn theories on integrating nature with the urban form, ofc the bugmen won't listen to this part and will be too busy jacking off to the authenticity of favelas and commieblocks)I am glad I live in a nice detached house in a suburban area, with greenery and fields nearby, far away from the cities.
I would gladly fight to defend how I live from the bugman menace.
One thing I've noticed is that if you're doing planning out in an exurb or small town, or even a suburb, the results of the plan are really easy to see, and it's pretty simple to lay blame or give praise.(Of the actual planners I've met, the ones that think like this or take the NJB crowd seriously thankfully only want to work in gentrified shitholes like NYC and think anything other than that is second class)
