Wonder how long till a mod that removes the troonery and more accurately localizes the original JP script. A mod that makes it so you don't need to wait for the text to finish so you can go to the next text box would also be great, don't understand why they took that out from the original.
Because it's running on the TOK engine and these lazy niggers didn't play their remake

There's the kicker, it's already a feature on that engine. At least in the TTYD remake you can skip over text you've already read (like when a character repeats text when you speak to him again, or you die and repeat a scene), which just confuses me further that they didn't make this a base feature on a *remake* that a significant part of the consumer base will be playing for the second time or more, and was already a thing in the original game.

You know... even before this release vivian was a the top waifu for most trannies.
Claiming the character as one of them was kind of predictable shit.
If Nintendo is a whale, trannies are its barnacles, nothing but parasites, as usual.
I would say tha trannies are more 'those parasites that eat fish tongues'.

Either way, I wa surprised that Vivian was not supposed to be transgender. I spent a long time thinking that she was in the original Nipponese version; I was not convinced at first glance. I needed to sleep on it, then read the original Nipponese text (not jus the translations) before I could see that Vivian is meant o be a girly boy.

Not helping was all of the people reinterpreting the original Nipponese version, even before the pro-trans movement hit s tride. Do you remember How I Became a Pokémon Card when Akari took on a male identity... because she preferred cool Pokémon instead of cute ones? Once she accepted that coolness is not ied to gender and can manifest in multiple forms, she went back to wearin girl's clothes on her own, implying that she accepted her biological gender. Because Nippon has a history of strictly enforcing gende roles, I feel that comic is a criticism of that enforcement. Never the less, most Pokémon fans that have heard of the admittedly obscure comic keep calling Akari a boy because 'the script is transphobic based on thoroughly disproven stereotypes'. I feel that same revisionism applied to Vivian; they think tha the script-writers were transphobic.

I can also confirm tha the Spanish version accurately translates from the Nipponese version.

By the by...
This was a change in localization, true.
However, you're also wrong. So did the German version.

Now, pettiness aside... The fact this change was made also breaks your entire argument. Did the story lose anything because Vivian was a woman in the English and German versions? No.
..."Sie" is gender-neutral.

I would say they were more like Roman era Christians or Jews.

Let them get their way and you're dead. No exceptions. And god forbid if this gets totally normalized. Remember the Jews already normalized Blood God worship since the Medival era.

Imagine an english localization of a 20 year old video game being the thing that keeps you from 41%ing for maybe about another week. Sad.

Yup, You're A Real Winner All Right.png

I'm kind of late on the news. Given how many conflicting reports I've been given, and how many responses to the contrary just get responded with Beldam images to undermine them, what exactly did the original Japanese text say?
Probably answered, but it's more along the lines of Vivian just being an literal crossdresser than anything else

The doomposting over the most minor of things is just suffocating! Is there anything people who get this bent out of shape on shit like this actually like? For people like this does the pleasure sit with being mad at something harmless?
You HAVE TO BE UPSET, YOU CAN'T JUST FUCKING BE HAPPY REEEEEEE

Nintendrones will defend this, even in this thread

"OH C'MON GUYS, IT'S NOT THAAAAAAAAAT BAD, YOU'RE MAKING A BIG DEAL OVER NOTHING. I'M STILL BUYING IT ANYWAYS! IT'S FUCKING PAPER MARIO DUDE! IN HIGH DEFINITION WITH BETTER GRAPHICS!!! NOW I DON'T HAVE TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO PLAY THIS ON ACTUAL HARDWARE OR EMULATION BECAUSE [insert retarded reason here]!!"
I mean, boycotting a game for not censoring a character detail is pretty gay, ngl.
Still, I played the original, loved it, and loved Vivian as much as any of the other characters, but Twitter trannies really do make me want to hate that character.
you know what? all this doom posting about the game makes me wanna play it. is it fine just to emulate the original game?
Not only is it fine, fans have actually made a rom hack that restores all of the stuff the localisation censored. Look up "Thousand Year Door+", you might find it already pre-patched on Vimm's Lair or CDRomance.

I swear this board turns into an inverted resetera every time a transperson appears in a video game. The rampant seething in here is pathetic.
You shouldn't be buying Nintendo games anyway, they just hit ANOTHER popular ROM site recently and got a bunch games taken down.

Just don't be like the troons. Don't ignore the fact that Nintendo is corpo scum. You need to download every Wii, Gamecube, N64, SNES, and NES game you can possibly afford to store as soon as you can. If you want Nintendo to suffer for this then hit them where they hate it most.

In that case, why would anyone but the most decrepit buffoons who can't figure out such simple software as Dolphin ever play the new version? A superior product is available to all of us, for free, yet the convenience of putting forth zero effort for a worse product still makes it worth money?

Well, that just goes to show that a little bit of DIY is always better than throwing money at a problem.
